I have this machine.... I think my machine needs a bit of oiling because if I press down on the foot then it gets stuck ...the machine is on but it doesn't want to move... until I turn the balance wheel then it starts sewing.... It happens a lot.
& No where in my town is a shop that sells sewing supplies ...& I can't get out of town whenever I want to go buy sewing machine oil...

Remember the owners manual is only showing you the most basic maintenance instructions, with how far you took your machine apart everything that moves needs to be oiled, for instance you only oiled the upper sleeve bearing for the needle bar there is one lower on the shaft as well just where the shaft or needle bar goes up into the machine.
