Thanks for watching! I wish I would have recorded the mixer audio and done a little more jamming so you could have heard more of what it could do. But that Mood made the melodica do some pretty cool things.
I wish I had time to make more videos, but things have been just busy enough that I don’t make it any farther than thinking up an idea. But maybe over the summer I’ll get a few more put together.
Thanks! Haha after doing all the work on the melodica, I realized I had a second contact mic and the kalimba was just laying there so I figured, why not? (And I think I actually preferred the sound of the kalimba to the sound of the melodica, and it took a fraction of the effort. Haha)
Cool! I've always thought that electromagnetic pickups next to the metal reeds would sound cool, but it doesn't seem like it would be very easy to implement.
I’ve never tried to do anything with pickups (other than the ones on my guitar and bass that I never play) but if you ever put something together like that, I’d love to hear about it!!! Thanks for watching. :)
Haha. Normally I see top down videos like this with pristine desks and mine had synths all over the place that I just pushed out of the way for the video. But normally I can’t even get to the surface of the desk. :)
Loved the little jam at the end, funny voices! Never thought I’d hear a melodica through a pedal🐢

Glad to see the mad scientist hasn’t lost his mojo.

Yay! Welcome back Drew (from today and three months ago)!
I have always wanted to add a contact mic to my kalimba. Now I really want to!
Thanks!
