    Program Notes:
A flower crown seamlessly assembled in a circle is believed to mean "eternal happiness". It is said the crown was used at weddings in Europe in the 19th century to pledge eternal love. Other than weddings, its history is even older. Ancient festivals had the custom and culture of placing a crown made of flowers and plants on the head.
It is also well known that olive-leaf crowns are given to medalists at the Olympics as a symbol of honor.
This piece aims to express the first purpose. I composed the allegro part with the image of affection and happiness, and the middle part is a wedding march.
The original version is a chamber work for five players and was premiered in 2012.
This wind orchestra version was commissioned by Koedo Wind Ensemble, led by composer Tohru Kanayama, and was premiered by the ensemble on September 14, 2015.
