I always love that Chael says basketball has one ruleset but the reality is that NFHS, NCAA, NBA, and FIBA all have different rulesets. @@zbarneyz so you actually throw the ball through the rim a net is not even required. Handball is the sport when you throw the ball in a net. Lacrosse too.
I feel Joe is very right about that, however I think it’s not universally true. In many developed countries, fewer people have children and more people stay active in later years of their lives. These people have both the time and the money to invest to be active in a sport and watch this sport. There’s usually a causal relationship between doing something and being interested in watching professionals doing it. While Kick boxing is great to watch, it’s hard to do yourself when you’re past your 30s. So in countries with fewer young people, there might be sports better suited to promote from a business pov.

UFC should adopt the One Championship approach and branch out from MMA into Boxing (should acquire BKBC) & Muay Thai
Kickboxing is huge in Europe.
Chael being right as always, joe can pretty much do anything and be successful at this point
"youve never done it" I actually have done it, and competed twice 😂 but chael says I havent so i guess it mustve been a dream
Muay Thai is cool, but LETHWEI is truly insane. A KO doesn't stop a fight? Awesome.
DAVE LEDUC
WTF - Joe Rogan was talking about Muay Thai?! Uncle Chael strikes again.
One fc is already doing this and it's awesome
Muay Thai > Kick Boxing
Kickboxing is already here.
One FC.
Knees and elbows are too viscous? Chael, elaborate. First time I'm hearing anyone in MMA say that, save for the 12-6 elbow story, which is mostly laughed at.
Looks like Uncle Chael is in a "bulking" phase!
Haha ya he’s got the Conor bloat-head going on here
You had me until Muay Thai is too vicious. It is beautiful, and awesome.
"I'll have the child sized coffee " cheal sonnen
Whats crazy i just had this convo with my dad while watching strickland vs izzy. I said I wonder why there isnt a big company broadcasting kickboxing when most casual, and diehards love standup fightings. The casual and me feel like the ground game is boring. Thats y i follow boxing.
Glory and ONE are broadcasting it, you just have to tune in
@@thomasmacdonough288ONE is also making straight grappling matches on the same card as kickboxing matches so I get why some people aren’t tuning in
Kickboxing has a lot of great fighters and some the biggest mma stars were kickboxers like mirko cro cop, overeem, adesanya, pereira, chikadze, darren till, etc...
Joe's the man
Joe side Muay Thai, not kickboxing.. kickboxing had been tried by K1 and Glory. Joe is talking about the real deal with elbows and knees.
I love Chael because he knows he is Chael.
Hope to see Chael on Rogans show soon!
I really like the new studio/camera setup.. never lost a round baby
I would watch kickboxing over powerslap any day.
Every Muay thai fan shitting their pants in anger rn
Muay Thai is the really push not kick boxing. Mt is optimal striking. Everyone likes striking
Damn, I think I'm that young person who's been dedicating their efforts to growing this sport, Muay Thai... lets do this
Ones Muay Thai is the most exciting fighting sport right now.
I never even thought of it like this, Joe could do it, he might not want to do everything and only want to commentate. Great insight and take Chael!
I thought you were going to go into the story about how boxers infiltrated kickboxing and started kicking everyone’s asses without throwing a single kick.
I love this fictional story Chael fabricated from thin air 😅
His point about grappling might be true, but the reality is grappling just requires more technical knowledge than the common spectator understands. Everyone can get into striking, and people love the spectacle of it
Muay Thai would be very popular. Just like in Asia
What? Knees and elbow are to vicious? They definitely are vicious but not to vicious
One Championship is the sleeper organization.
I always love that Chael says basketball has one ruleset but the reality is that NFHS, NCAA, NBA, and FIBA all have different rulesets. Even further street ball has different rules, or more like lack thereof, and half court 3v3 tournaments have different rules. Even the court sizes are different and the official game ball is different too.
Throw ball in net
@@zbarneyz so you actually throw the ball through the rim a net is not even required. Handball is the sport when you throw the ball in a net. Lacrosse too.
@@michael95621 throw ball in rim
I feel Joe is very right about that, however I think it’s not universally true. In many developed countries, fewer people have children and more people stay active in later years of their lives. These people have both the time and the money to invest to be active in a sport and watch this sport. There’s usually a causal relationship between doing something and being interested in watching professionals doing it.
While Kick boxing is great to watch, it’s hard to do yourself when you’re past your 30s. So in countries with fewer young people, there might be sports better suited to promote from a business pov.
