Thanks for doing this Clipsey, even over a year old it's still valid, you probably didn't get enough thanks for your efforts at the time. Getting back into the game, I'm looking at where my grinds were at and where I want to go with them. I decided to focus on the Soviet line, dear God I forgot how convoluted the Soviet TT was. With this I've planned my way down the lines I want to focus on. And I had to get my KV-2 back again, even thought it doesn't go anywhere... because derp is just too much fun. Of course the line has has altered when they brought in the double barrelled tanks. Funny thing is my favourite and most played Soviet tank is the premium IS-6, not the Hydra either. I got it from a crate it was my first Russian heavy and even with the weaker D30 gun than BL, it taught me to angle and bounce and made me aim my shots.
I think you missed a little with the obj140, it used to be best of two but now 62 has better speed, dpm and turret armor. Anyway love your videos keep doing it bro see you in the battle🔥👍
Playing the tanks you like the look of is good but if you want a good win rate or wn8 then don't start off playing them. I started with tier8 premiums and tech tree like the tiger and tiger2. With rubbish crews, no clue what I was doing it was painfull. Now I'm able to go and play all the tanks I skipped or only played a little bit like the Sherman firefly which I started playing after watching a documentary about them in Normandy. It's quite an enjoyable and surprising good tank. Russian heavies are excellent and most are actual real historical tanks aswell which always makes them more appealing to me. Great video 👍
problem with the 257 is that every tier 9-10 tank i come up against perfectly knows where to shoot at and the "idiot proof" armor concept goes down the drain
I feel like the IS3-Turret on the Obj.257 is actually better than the top turret. I believe the Capola is much smaller. Im bouncing 2000 dmg on average
When the obj 268 4 came out it was an utter beast and my favorite one to play for a while Also the S-51 was my first tier 7 arty, it was and still is an utter beast with the top gun. Tier 7 arty with 1850 average alpha on the top gun
Russian steel...love it. 1st tank I played was the T34s....couldn't get it to survive more than 2 minutes. Now I can..sometimes given this busted game's insanity.... T34 itself is a bit better but funnily enough the T34S isn't the same tank with a bit of spaced armour but it should be. KV1 is one of my favourite heavies in these lower tiers...KV1S not so much as it has less armour but still good if you play it more carefully. T150 as you say has enhanced armour which makes this the best of the KV1s. Not any slower though really. As to the derp guns on the KVs ... they never had one. All the KV1 had was the T34 gun because at the time it was the best there was. Thing is the real KV2 had 100mm frontal armour which no tank at the time could touch. It also had applique armour across it's front where the machine gun and driver's view window is and some along the side to protect the turret ring. So we do not get the armour we should do we. KV2 when it appeared was untouchable, if I recall one KV2 took 58 hits I think it was and none penned it. So the Germans sent their best gun to the front line, a big anti-aircraft gun. Story goes they hit a KV2 with it and the KV shuddered to a stop...Yay thought the gun crew, we have a gun to stop this thing...but after a little rest the KV began to move. Not far away, once it dealt with the German gun, there's a German tank stuck in a muddy pond..the KV2 just rolled over it and squished it. Then came Germany's new tanks to replace their PZ111s and the KVs days as the best tank were done. Interestingly as the war dragged on Germany became a bit short on magnesium, which is a bit important for tank armour. Without it the steel was brittle..very brittle. Now Russia's tanks..or anyone's, could obliterate them..literally. A round into the turret side would go straight through and take out a huge chunk from the opposite side..the steel just shattered, welds included. Some simply fell apart into a pile of scrap metal. One issue with Russian tanks was they used cast turrets instead of welded ones, which made them weaker. So the issue of the derp guns...nerfed so now useless many say. I find them very useful...accuracy has to be adjusted for a bit though..although I find aim-lock works much of the time so I don't need to take the time aiming and get hit too often..I don't always use it but it comes in handy if you know your enemies reload time. First time I used the KVs derp gun it killed 7 tanks. And MVP if I recall. ALL 7 went down to HE rounds. HE isn't designed to pen, it does however cause serious damage due to high velocity shrapnel. It should certainly rattle the hell outa the crew and damage modules..WG of course decide which ones it damages. I have taken tracks off with HE. Of course over distance HE like all rounds will lose velocity, but the round itself unlike AP doesn't lose it's ability to do damage. Short range at higher velocity it hits tanks hard. I've had tanks back out of the fight once hit with a couple of these at short range. They don't like it much at longer ranges either. Especially later in the game when their HP is a bit less. Good if you want to do damage and collect the assisted damage as well. I know many say HE is useless but I find it very useful and I have destroyed many tanks with HE. Plus it's cheaper. The little Matilda has a little derpy gun...but use that and you will run out of ammo. My VK TIER 5..VK 30 01 IS IT? Has a handy derp gun as well. HEAT rounds do of course penetrate by basically burning their way through the armour..nasty if you're inside the tank when that happens... I do of course carry AP and I use silver premiums when needed. Gold just costs you money and I am not spending daft money on a ruddy game. Especially on as broken as this game is. Interestingly many of my best results have been in games with NO bloody arty..I do love derping ruddy arties.. Like this vid Eclipse as I do like my Russian steel as I say. Or at least some of it, at least now I know which ones to go for IF I decide to go for higher tier tanks.
Video idea Hey I’m just gonna say it because you are pretty goddamned responsive. Tier IV-VI mid tier monsters… So Tier V is kind of one of those perfect tiers… you’re below VIII so your not dealing with a ton of OP premiums. Not a lot of one shot kill machines. People aren’t running 9 skill commanders and equipment. You look at the trophy’s most players don’t make it past tier VII or VIII anyways. You know who plays tier IV-VI? Filthy casuals… a couple of ideas too, focus on tanks that earn money, that are worth holding on to, that don’t need premium round. A top 10 list only 2 of them can be premium tanks too because filthy casuals. This is a good video too because you and I both know tier X only burns credits… Tier V you still make credits… you train commanders… you are having a hard day, you seal club. Best part too…. You can usually get to VI with a day or two of grinding. I’ve seen your garage and TT progress you aren’t much further than me. I know when you are speculating on some things. This is how you reach the unskilled players and teach them…
@@jdawwwgytb they are cool. When I think of "tank" I think practical and rugged. I like British and American tanks too but they're not as iconic or fun to roleplay around in.
I'm playing wot console, I unlocked up to the IS two days ago and haven't touched the soviet line any further, but when I checked the tree today I have every tank up to and including the T-10 and object 257 unlocked. To make sure I wasn't tripping I bought the 257 and played a game in it. Is this an event or did my game glitch out?
@Lane Shockley I NOTICED THE SAME THING! IT'S UPGRADE TIME BABY! I looked all over and no one talking about it!!! I have silver to burn, I'm buying at least 3 or 4. I can unlock the is7 with free xp right now(300+k to buy it), and I've never researched the soviet heavy line at all!!! Edit: Proud owner of both Russian Heavies! Cold War makes it ez to get silver, too. Life is good, comrade. My armor is made of Stalinium, and Josef himself guides my shots. It's all true!
K-91 is not the king of DPM, it has worse DPM than T62A, Object 140 and Object 430. Also, Object 140 wasn't buffed on console, T62A was buffed and it's currently the best tier X Soviet medium in the game.
What tech tree line do you recommend for someone who just started playing? I prefer decent armor tanks so just heavy tank lines? Any advice would be much appreciated!
Only play Russian if A. You love losing B. Having fck all hull/turret armor and C. Having guns that are garbage on pen because they rely on he spam and even with skills aim is just awful.

What crew skills do you run on the 268?
Object 430 tops out at near 4500 dpm. I thought the 140 had better gun handling and flexibility going for it. If so I gotta check that out.
Not dpm*
I think I was wrong with the 140, it's the T62a that is the beast of the two now. I think they are near the same dpm but more flexibile

Is it ST-1 (one) or ST-I (eye)?
The age old question. I would assume it's ST-one because of the naming convention of the ST -two
