Finally! The TH80 flew under the radar for soo long, and I considered buying it from the little reviews it has. It is BY FAR the BEST keyboard I own. The bluetooth was my only concern, but it worked PERFECTLY! No latency! Only small issue is the Enter, left shift and spacebar’s rattly stabilizers. Another is the software update is a bit tricky to download on windows, but once you get past those issues, this keyboard amazes EVERYONE who’s used it. 100% recommend as a first, main “custom” keyboard.
I bought this Epomaker TH80 after some through research. It is by far one of the best stock keyboards you can buy. For extra thock, get the Gatreon Yellows. Absolutely love this thing! One thing to note: if you use it wirelessly, it goes to sleep after about a minute, and there is no setting to change this. Comes back on instantaneously after you type again, but for the time it goes to sleep, the LEDs will go off. So it loses part of the aesthetic. That's my only complain. My fix for this was just to plug it in and use it wirelessly.
I wish there were more reviews like this when I first started getting into the hobby. I started off w a banger and went for the GMMK Pro, totally would've gotten one of these or waited around if I knew better cuz I feel like with more budget boards, it's less intimidating to experiment. My GMMK Pro is sorta retired now and so I'm currently rocking a Tofu60 :,)
I have about 16 keyboards, trying to find the one I really like. I bought the th66 and really loved the feel and the sound and then bought the th80 because I wanted the delete key and tilde key. These are my favourite keyboards ever. They are absolutely fantastic. At least for me.
Yes, finally!!! I have been waiting for this review for a WHILE, as I have this board 😆 Fantastic video, and thank you for the opportunity of giving away keyboards 🙌
Thanks to you bro I completely modded my red dragon k530 pro which I bought based upon your recommendation. My friend has now asked me to mod and choose a keyboard for him because the one I modded was so good, thanks to you. Thanks so much bro
I've got some "real" (for what that's worth) custom boards that I have put a disgusting amount of money in. Red dragon is 100% where it's at if you would like to keep your money and you actually have common sense. Red dragon puts out some very quality boards and with a little time and maybe 10 bucks worth of mods they feel and sound as good as a $400 custom.
Thank you for your enthusiasm in this hobby. You deliver great content especially on us begginers who dont wanna commit large amount of cash into the hobby by reviewing budget boards. I bought a redragon fizz and built it exactly as the one you had built and modded. And it turn out nice. Now my friend is going to get a Gas67 next week. Im the one who picked it and the keycaps are exactly the one on your build.
Did a lot of research going back and forth trying to decide which 75% would work best for me. Your video locked in my decision to pick up the TH80. Thank you sir for your awesome review!
Let's goooo Epomaker TH80! Thanks for the great review! It's actually my daily driver keyboard for only a month now and I'm glad you got around making a review on it, because I agree: It's amazing what you get for that price. It's also my first custom mechanical keyboard and I think I will never leave the custom keyboard hole now XD This keyboard is great to get into the hobby in my opinion. For anyone who's thinking about getting their first custom one I can totally recommend! I bought the TH80 Theory with Gateron Pro Red switches but changed to Gateron Pro Yellow pretty soon. I’m totally new in keyboard modding & started it after watching your channel! I currently use my first ever keyboard built from CIY Tester68 and use it as my daily driver (I used your video about the Test68 as tutorial & reference, thankyou!) Modded it with tape & packing foam with JWK Black switches. I felt in love right away the sound and the typing experience. Never knew of how much I missed by using pre-built and doing nothing with it. I think I’m trapped to the custom keyboard now 😅 navaldyds
I was looking at this keyboard and than I saw this video just came out and I think I am going to preorder the black backbone version. Great video! Thank You so much!
Thanks for the video on the Epomaker. I have wanted to get my own custom Keyboard for a long time. I really enjoy the ends and out in the keeb hobby and have wanted to know how to mod it. I think that from what I have learned this is a really good keyboard to mod and use on a daily bases. But right now I am rocking a HyperX Alloy core membrane. My older Brother gave it to me when I first got my computer and I use it but have been wanting to get in the Mechanical Keyboards. I do enjoy it but have been wanting to make it better. So your video have to help me learn about the keyboard community and I want to say thank you for that :) -habloomy :)
This video was so helpful for helping me buying a keyboard that is really good for customization and doesn’t completely break the bank. Keep up the great work in these videos and don’t change. ❤🎉
FINALLY! A review for this keeb, I'm typing this comment with my TH80 fully modded as much as I could without sawing off the standoffs and what nots. Results actually came out pretty good. The list of mods done to mine are as follows:- 1. Case Foam mod 2. Tempest Tape mod (painter's tape 2 layers) 3. PE foam for case foam mod filling up the compartments in the case and the stock case foam laying on top of it 4. PCB PE Foam mod 5. Authentic Cherry Stabs with holee mod and hand lubed 6. Banana Splits switches hand lubed Video suggestion!! Do a mod more extensive than what I did, looking forward to see how it comes out and I bet it will sound really impressive
Thank you for the review! They’ve helped me a lot with modding my first mechanical keyboard. I’m using the Ltc nimbleback 70% keyboard with Akko lavender purple switches and Yunzii Macaron keycaps. With a electrical tape mod and pe foam.
While not the same "family" of keyboards, Epomaker also distributes the Cidoo ABM84. This is in a TKL layout (but ditches the Print Screen and Pause buttons -- I like this form factor better because of muscle memory for reaching for the delete, home, and page up/page down buttons). The keyboard sounds just as thocky as the TH66 and TH80
Hi! Huge fan of your videos and they helped me chose my first custom keyboard which is still my daily driver keyboard, it's a GMMK TKL with Akko jelly blacks (You Akko switch video helped me sooo much lol.) I'm saving up to build a second keyboard which I'm super excited for. Thanks for all you've given to the keyboard community! matsuchaos
I really appreciate the structure of the video and the way your videos are formed in general. keeps me in tune and just gives a great vibe to it. I personally daily drive a GK96S and i love it, though it's a shame that not long after they released the TH96 which is more evenly spaced out and had a very nice looking knob and color scheme too. I plan on getting jelly blacks to mod it since you've always praised the jelly blacks for how great they are out the box and lubed, so maybe that'll elevate my keyboard to the next level lol great vid :) temremetre
I'm pretty new to this hobby. My current daily driver is an Iris rev. 6, an ergo split. I've got it in a nice 3d printed case and everything, and I've actually been modding one half of it (new switches, switch pads, tape mod) to adjust for sound while leaving the other half alone, just to adjust for sound and compare as I go. I'm actually getting a Volador 75% soon, so we will see if that has the sound profile I like, lol
rickdoingadventures- my work board is, ironically, a heavily modded TH80 that I built to be as quiet as possible so my coworkers don't hate me. My home board is a keychron Q3 with vermillion birds, force break and foam modded.
Hi I have been looking to get into the keyboard modding scene for quite some time now. Right now I am currently using some generic Logitech mesh keyboard. I can only imagine what kind of upgrade it would be to move to a mechanical keyboard. I have been watching your videos for a while now checking out virtually every keyboard on the market deciding the right one for me. So far your videos have helped me massively in narrowing down keyboards. The way you review keyboards is hard to find from other channels. Keep it up!! bmatthewz
I daily drive a CIY Tester68 with gateron milky yellow at the moment. The CIY Gas67 would be a great way to upgrade from tray mount to gasket mount with the same brand. I really love what you did to the Gas 67 and is hoping I can win. Great video as always, always appreciate that you're reviewing budget boards. kee_morg
My daily driver right now is the MageGee Star 61 with red switches I got off Amazon for $16.99 out of the box no mods. I'm still trying to educate myself on custom keyboards before I consider investing in something more expensive. Really tempted to pick up either this Epomaker TH66 with Flamingo switches or the AKKO 3068B Plus Jelly Black switches. Great video! SUPER INFORMATIVE! julianryan
I'm currently using the RK84 daily, modded with the tempest tape mod (masking tape), Everglide stabs with dielectric grease, butyl rubber for the case foam, ajazz kiwi switches, and doubleshot xvx profile keycaps. Sounds great! I'm currently waiting for the PCB foam and the mod would be complete! Though I'm a little worried about the butyl rubber case foam, it's definitely on the thicker side and it makes the switches on the bottom harder to change between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz mode... pterodectl
I like how I just focused on the content but when I saw the giveaway instructions, I was like "oh wait I forgot I'm looking for this" 🤣 really good review and construction of the video. I enjoyed it. I just bought my first budget entry mech. keyboard which is Dark Alien K710 with red switches. it sounds what you expect from a budget keyboard but it's a good entry for me in the world of keyboards.
It's weird how Epomaker is basically off the radar now. So much competition piled on, and all of a sudden people forgot that they still release OEM boards for the Western market.
Just got mine in the mail today, it's my first decent keyboard and entry into the hobby as a beginner. The space bar sounds sooo good right out of the box I just wanna keep clicking it lol P.S Please do a tutorial video on what mods you would do to improve on what's already a great keyboard. (TH80)
Hello I have bought my daily driver when I watched your video regarding the best budget keyboard which is Akko 3068B. I am really new to custom keyboard and when i got this keyboard i got hooked right away and I really loved it. Thank you so much and keep making content in custom keyboards. -raycostes
Great video! I actually just bought the TH80 keyboard last night to mess around with and see if I like 75%. I'm currently using a Blade 60 with a dz64 pcb, pc plate, milky black switches, durock v2 stabs, and modern dolch clones. I also did a silicone pour for acoustics. Been building keyboards for about 6 months now and just having fun with it.
I am super new to this so researching a lot about the subject and i found that your channel is SUPER helpful. My daily driver in the meantime is just a budget Phantom that you recommended in one of your budget 65% keyboards
I've been running the TH66 for over a month now for my work keyboard. Added extra down, 3 layer tape mod. Durock stabilizers lubed. Currently trying AKKO Ocean blue switches that have been lubed. I wanted a lighter tactile. Keycaps I have AKKO Neon Cherry profile. Can confirm also that there's no interface with the top row.
Bought a Th66 for travel. I ended up liking it so much, I put actual GMK keycaps on it instead of the clones I had initially planned. Still trying to decide if I want to change out the switches, the stock pro yellows are actually quite solid. The stabilizers, however, definitely do need a little bit of attention.
These are some very cool boards, they are affordable and sound pretty good too. It is a very solid choice if you are on a budget. Another keyboard you should try is the Ilovbee i61, It is a 20 dollar hot swap board with double shot keycaps and red switches. I think you would like testing it out and/or modding it.
Rocking the Phantom Tek due to your past reviews of it. Didn’t mod it much just changed out the switches but have been enjoying it the last year or so. vinymnky
Thanks for making these vids on keyboards as they are amusing and informative. I found my daily driver (Keychron K8 Pro) by watching your videos. Law.Tse
I'm pretty new to the keyboard hobby and actually got my first board based on your recommendation, the Akko PC75B Plus. I love it, and it's been my daily driver since then, even with no mods (although hopefully doing some of those soon). neverhirdofit
Your editing and delivery is great, but please add some sound treatment to the rooms you record in, sound quality was driving me nuts. Also, the knob that you showed didn't look like they drilled it in the center at all, so I'd be very interested in seeing that again. I didn't catch the clip on how to win the giveaway, but regardless, good video! Keep on keeping on!
Great video. My daily driver is a K2V2, after this want to upgrade to the TH80 since it has the function row, the knob as well as the dedicated 2.4Ghz wireless option.
My daily driver is an AKKO PC75B plus which I modded as per your video as well. I was thinking of getting the Lychee G66 pro but now since EPOMAKER has its own 65% with a knob I'm kinda torn now haha. Thank you for reviewing it! gelogelsie
Wow! I use a redragon k552 and I was originally planning on upgrading to an rk87 but after watching this video I am seriously considering just going with the TH80 instead, thanks for the review! wiseandmystical
as for the giveaway instructions, am i missing it? i've watched the whole thing twice now and i'm not seeing the requirements. is it something to do with the color flashes at 13:52 to 14:02 ?
I'm looking to buy my first keyboard but I'm confused by the few 'best budget' keyboard videos you have. After binge watching a bunch of your videos i have the following in mind: -Akko 3068b -Keychron k8 pro -TH66 You gave them all very high reviews but which one really stands above the rest? which is really the one you would get? P.S. does the Akko come lubed from the factory like the Keychron? Looking for help! Ntgbandit
KBD67 Lite R4, kind of late with this trendy keeb but was not disappointed I went with it anyway. The opportunity to mod this keyboard is endless, for its price it comes with a carrying case that feels premium and a screw in stabilizer. Overall, this satisfied the thock that I'm looking for. The Epomaker Th80 reminds me of my previous build from Akko which is PC75b, but I guess this is better for the price point. Great vid!! patdoesthetrick
I am super new to this so researching the hell outta keyboards (your channel is SUPER helpful). My daily driver in the meantime is just a ghetto dell that was in my wife's closet until I can finally figure out what my first legit keeb will be... who knows, maybe a GAS67?!
My daily driver is the GMMK Pro with lubed U4Ts. Love it for both gaming and working, but I'm thinking about getting a 96% for work. Awesome video like always CTR - wiltung
I have this keyboard and I think it great. However, I think the key caps were pretty bad. If I pressed the space bar not on the center more than once in a row it would pop up on the other side and stick on the side I was pressing, very annoying to game with. But, since I was planning to replace the key caps anyway I did not think it was that big of a deal. The stabilizers also need some work, especially the space and backspace key. Other than those 2 things I am loving it. It is very heavy and solid and I like the sound. It is not super deep or "thocky" but it has a nice "clack" which I am enjoying.
Thank you for this nice little review. I have personally been trying to find a th80 review. But my daily driver is an interesting one. I have a modded Velocifire 70 lubed outemu browns with Vaseline lol. It actually sound really good for some reason.
Red Dragon and Epomaker stock boards are criminally underrated. Minimal mods and what you get for under $100 with these companies is ridiculous. Logitech sells a low profile tkl for close to the $200 mark. You can get literally the exact same thing in white or black from Red dragon for less than 50 bucks.
nice vid! thx for the review i loved it, can you make a top 10/5 best budget linear switch? and do you have a easy mod for ltc nimble back (not tape mod) for someone on a low budget?
These keyboards seem like a nice upgrade after years of using my first mechanical keyboard and current daily driver, a Tecware Phantom RGB with brown switches. Though I wonder, how do those knobs work for programs such as Voicemeeter; are they limited to only one channel or can you change them back and forth? deebzs
Hello consumer tech review I love your videos and I would love to see a razer huntsman te modding video. Thank you for focusing on the budget side of things as well❤ty for always being there when I’m bored😊
Nowadays I am using the KBDfans Blade60. I realized it is pretty good if you only use one layer of PE foam and the stock EVA case foam. That keeps the original sound profile and less pingy. Alexantors
Was looking for this video, after a e-shop messed up providing me a hotswap rk61 and gave a non hotswap one, did not even get a replacement. Saving up for this keyboard
Just recently got interested in keyboards and you are a huge help, got the Akko ARC pro 75 and its amazing. Would love to try out more keyboards and try some mods
I am curently using LOGITECH MK240 Nano. I bought it in local store after my old keyboard diead and I did not change from it yet. Great video, would probably buy it but it is a bit out of my budget. tomatothewise
Used TH80 for like 2 months. Great board. Unfortunately it seems I can't live without Home/End keys. Socit went to my daughter (along with some sweet Pikachu keycaps) and I got myself Akko 5075B Plus. Akko has worse knob, mostly because when pushed it does not mute and you cannot reprogram the push action. Also TH80 has south facing leds. Otherwise pretty similar boards.
this is simmiliar to vortexseries gt-8 and gt-6 but the pricing is different for the gt-8 and gt-6 is $59 and this is really good beginner keyboard. for those want to learn how to mod keyboard i reccomend it since i have the gt-8
I'm on my way building my first set up from scratches but don't know which gears are the best for my budget. I'm currently using the cheap keyboard from Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 because I didn't really care about the difference of having an actual good keyboard. You have inspired me to look at the aspects and consider carefully into mechanical keyboards. Hope you continue your contributions in guiding "beginners" like me!!! _mlhnn_ (Minh L)
I’ve been using the th80 for abt 2 months now. My only complain abt the th80 is you can’t do a whole lot of case mod. I tried but it made it really hard close the keyboard, mine got bent up even tho i only used 2 really thin layer of foam. In the end i just removed them and only mod the stab (stock stab is alright, a lil rattle). Lubed Budgerigar (or watever it is😂) sounds and feel pretty good.
I’ve got the Keychron C2 as my daily driver right now. Modded with lubed Akko Matchas but am looking to add another board to my work setup now. Digijustin
My friend got this keyboard and it's not great... Very hollow sounding out of the box, which made the already loud Budgerigar switches even louder. On the plus side the case is easy to open, but the construction is really flimsy and poor - the thin bottom case is already bulging out from the stock case foam pressing against the battery, and the top bezel appeared warped after I removed it. Anyways, I proceeded to add shelf-liner foam everywhere else in the bottom case except on top of the battery and the keyboard sounds more solid now. Tape mod sounds like crap on this keyboard - very crunchy so I undid it. Now considering adding PE foam on top of the PCB, but not expecting much gains from that. For $125 CAD there are better pre-builts out there.
I got the TH80 a while back due to a trusty recommendation and it is really good except for one thing: the 2.4GHz doesn't work for me at all. The range is so tiny that I literally have to use one of these wireless mice dongles for the keyboard because even plugging the USB into my monitor still leads to connection issues, so that's kind of a letdown.

Really tempted to pick up either this Epomaker TH66 with Flamingo switches or the AKKO 3068B Plus Jelly Black switches. Great video! SUPER INFORMATIVE!

Loving the reviews, I’m waiting for cyber Monday and will decide on what I’ll get by then 😁
I'm currently using the RK84 daily, modded with the tempest tape mod (masking tape), Everglide stabs with dielectric grease, butyl rubber for the case foam, ajazz kiwi switches, and doubleshot xvx profile keycaps. Sounds great! I'm currently waiting for the PCB foam and the mod would be complete! Though I'm a little worried about the butyl rubber case foam, it's definitely on the thicker side and it makes the switches on the bottom harder to change between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz mode...

In Indonesia this is actually Vortexseries GT-8 and GT-6, it is all the same except the keycaps
The space bar sounds sooo good right out of the box I just wanna keep clicking it lol
P.S Please do a tutorial video on what mods you would do to improve on what's already a great keyboard. (TH80)
Hey! I’m thinking about getting one for my office space, are you still enjoying it 3 months later?
Hello I have bought my daily driver when I watched your video regarding the best budget keyboard which is Akko 3068B. I am really new to custom keyboard and when i got this keyboard i got hooked right away and I really loved it. Thank you so much and keep making content in custom keyboards.

The TH80 seems similar to my daily driver, a Keydous NJ80. I've only done foam mod and tape mod to it, with lubed Akko Jelly Blacks. admiralhiro
literally waiting for this keyboard to come on thursday, cant wait.
I am super new to this so researching a lot about the subject and i found that your channel is SUPER helpful. My daily driver in the meantime is just a budget Phantom that you recommended in one of your budget 65% keyboards
Hi! Thanks for the review, been considering this board for a while.
Awesome to see more reviews of budget keebs. :)
This or your recent review of AKKO PC75B v2 ?
Didn’t mod it much just changed out the switches but have been enjoying it the last year or so. vinymnky
I just bought this one but saw your review on the Akko 3068 😭 which one do you prefer out the box ?
Thanks for making these vids on keyboards as they are amusing and informative. I found my daily driver (Keychron K8 Pro) by watching your videos.

I'm pretty new to the keyboard hobby and actually got my first board based on your recommendation, the Akko PC75B Plus. I love it, and it's been my daily driver since then, even with no mods (although hopefully doing some of those soon).
neverhirdofit
I have the same keeb and enjoy it more than I do my Epomaker TH98
Your editing and delivery is great, but please add some sound treatment to the rooms you record in, sound quality was driving me nuts. Also, the knob that you showed didn't look like they drilled it in the center at all, so I'd be very interested in seeing that again. I didn't catch the clip on how to win the giveaway, but regardless, good video! Keep on keeping on!
Great video.
My daily driver is a K2V2, after this want to upgrade to the TH80 since it has the function row, the knob as well as the dedicated 2.4Ghz wireless option.
I got the TH80 and I put hand lubed coffee chip switches in it (tactile). Also lubed and holee modded the stabilizers. It sounds pretty good now.
My daily driver is an AKKO PC75B plus which I modded as per your video as well. I was thinking of getting the Lychee G66 pro but now since EPOMAKER has its own 65% with a knob I'm kinda torn now haha. Thank you for reviewing it! gelogelsie
Would you say this is better than a board you previously reviewed the akko 5075s
Wow! I use a redragon k552 and I was originally planning on upgrading to an rk87 but after watching this video I am seriously considering just going with the TH80 instead, thanks for the review!
wiseandmystical
YAY, you finally did it
For battery capacity, the product page now says:
3800 mAh
2200 mAh for orders before April, 2022
Just bought it just to tinker around with it :) great value and great keyboard in general.
Upgraded it with the Ajazz banana switches.
as for the giveaway instructions, am i missing it?
i've watched the whole thing twice now and i'm not seeing the requirements. is it something to do with the color flashes at 13:52 to 14:02 ?
I'm looking to buy my first keyboard but I'm confused by the few 'best budget' keyboard videos you have. After binge watching a bunch of your videos i have the following in mind:
-Akko 3068b
-Keychron k8 pro
-TH66
You gave them all very high reviews but which one really stands above the rest? which is really the one you would get?
P.S. does the Akko come lubed from the factory like the Keychron?
Looking for help!

Same doubt
KBD67 Lite R4, kind of late with this trendy keeb but was not disappointed I went with it anyway. The opportunity to mod this keyboard is endless, for its price it comes with a carrying case that feels premium and a screw in stabilizer. Overall, this satisfied the thock that I'm looking for. The Epomaker Th80 reminds me of my previous build from Akko which is PC75b, but I guess this is better for the price point. Great vid!!

Awesome video like always CTR

Would you recommend the TH80 over RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK84 and AKKO 5057S?
yeah rk84 under this fs
I’m using the FEKER ik75 for my daily. I bought some Akko keycaps from your recommendation. I love them.
I watched the video twice and didnt find the clip 😭
I've got the th80 and my stabs on shift and enter rattle quite a bit. My space bar sounds like yours though.
Great review as always. Wondering if you have any recommendations or thoughts about low profile switches.
A video on modding these would be awesome ❤️
nice vid! thx for the review i loved it, can you make a top 10/5 best budget linear switch? and do you have a easy mod for ltc nimble back (not tape mod) for someone on a low budget?
Which would you pick between the TH80 and Tecware Phantom + (elite)
These keyboards seem like a nice upgrade after years of using my first mechanical keyboard and current daily driver, a Tecware Phantom RGB with brown switches. Though I wonder, how do those knobs work for programs such as Voicemeeter; are they limited to only one channel or can you change them back and forth?

Hello consumer tech review I love your videos and I would love to see a razer huntsman te modding video. Thank you for focusing on the budget side of things as well❤ty for always being there when I’m bored😊
Nowadays I am using the KBDfans Blade60. I realized it is pretty good if you only use one layer of PE foam and the stock EVA case foam. That keeps the original sound profile and less pingy.

How would you rank Mk870 , fiker ik75 , akko 5075 and th80
For me layout doesn’t matter ?
Was looking for this video, after a e-shop messed up providing me a hotswap rk61 and gave a non hotswap one, did not even get a replacement. Saving up for this keyboard
Just recently got interested in keyboards and you are a huge help, got the Akko ARC pro 75 and its amazing. Would love to try out more keyboards and try some mods
I'm looking into my first mech keyboard. Would you recommend this th80 or the rk84?
Watched it twice. The giveaway must be a riddle since there's no direct mention anywhere.
there is
@@randomperson-tt3rs where is it
I am curently using LOGITECH MK240 Nano. I bought it in local store after my old keyboard diead and I did not change from it yet. Great video, would probably buy it but it is a bit out of my budget.

Is this keyboard good for gaming? Or should I mod this keyboard? I play Valorant.
Lubed Budgerigar (or watever it is😂) sounds and feel pretty good.
great work! can't wait for your next video :>
I’ve got the Keychron C2 as my daily driver right now. Modded with lubed Akko Matchas but am looking to add another board to my work setup now.

Nice choice ,only for me, best it's 65% format (I'm working with excel and it's even enough to 90% shortcuts. Recommend)
Do you think think the Ajazz banana switches will give it a poppy sound?
Are the keys all programmable with VIA or QMK ?
