I relate to this song so much. Im a 25yr old TN boy that had his dad go to be with God 2 years ago and, I gave my heart to Christ in August of 2020. I also drive my dads old Chevrolet pickup because I cant bring myself to let it go. I ride around just to talk to God and my dad often.. Its my favorite place besides a boat or being in the woods.

I used to have this old '62 Chevy Impala - Candy Apple Red. When I was 16 and after that when I was little older, I loved nothing more than to cruise around in that old car talking to God. It was a wonderful way to spend an hour or two after high school. This song reminds me of those days just driving around and talking to God, sometimes about nothing in particular or sometimes about the sort of things that were important to 16, 17, and 18 year olds - "does she like me? " "she sure is pretty!" "I wonder when the next good concert is coming around." Well, 46 years later I don't have that old Chevy anymore. I have a little VW convertible, I know she loves me, she still is pretty, and I still wonder when the next good concert is coming around. Even more, I know God is King and he's in control. There was a time I was at rock bottom sitting on a barstool and there was a time I drank a lot and had an addiction to pills and Nashville is one of my favorite places to go as an escape for time to myself but I’ve drove around and sat on a pond bank alone and thought about a lot especially life. Over the past 20 years I’ve lost those that was so close to me and now all I have left of them is memories but I sure hope that those that is passed on is Proud of me for turning into who I am today!
