Basham at Sheff Utd is a great story. We tried him as a midfielder and he was OK, kind of average. We've tried him as right back and he was OK, kind of average. We also tried him as central defender in a 4 and he was again OK, kind of average. So his strength has been versatility, attitude and also impressive stamina. Think Wilder transformed his career when using him as overlapping/ attacking centre back on the right hand side of 3 centre backs. Not many centre backs have the stamina or ability to go down the right wing or play up front however Bash played this unique role superbly well. Mr Versatile was asked to play 3 roles (centre back, midfield and right wing back) all within the same game. Will always be appreciated by Blades, thanks legend.
