    What I have found is that time doesn't matter if the ink is still too wet. So wait until ink looks completely matte. Then it's perfect for powdering.

    This may explain some of the issues we've been having. We have been applying powder pretty much right out of the printer, but we have been having issues with the film not releasing from the image - just like your 30/60/90 second transfers. Now that I think about it, our larger transfers that take a long time to print don't seem to have as much problem - probably because most of the transfer is actually waiting several minutes before getting powder. Now we will be experimenting with print to powder times to see if that solves the issues, and to see what works best in our setup. Thanks for the great video!

      Glad we could help. Also check your time, temp and pressure for pressing. The pressure plays a very big roll in the transfer adhering properly.

    I’d love to see a video on setting up the heat plate. My 2 head has it attached to printer and I’ve seen the plate attached to shaker ovens. Finding that right temp to dry the ink faster before powder. I’ve got my settings. Just curious what other peoples are.

    • @DTFSuperstore
      @DTFSuperstore  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our headed guide plate is set at 75 C for our Mongoose 2 head. A faster machine might benefit from a slightly higher temp but no too much, you don't want to sure it before it gets powdered.

    Your video is very good. However, I think it is interesting to add that a very important factor linked to the polyamide application time is the relative humidity and ambient temperature.

    • @deseartdtf
      @deseartdtf 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This greatly influences the time to avoid moisture retention. Large format printers, for example, have a heater after printing and before the polyamide to remove this excess.

    Great video!
    I have a couple of questions. I hope you can help.
    Why would the transfers won’t be transferring to the shirts? I mean like, they don’t stick to the shirts. Is it a powder issue?
    Which powder do you recommend?
    Thank you so much!

    • @DTFSuperstore
      @DTFSuperstore  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If there is powder and adhesive and it's been cured the transfer not sticking to the shirt is probably an issue of not enough pressure or heat. Use an infrared thermometer to check your heat press and make sure it is actually at the temperature you set!

    Hello, very great video and it was a lot of help. I did have a quick question. On some of my prints I get some cracking or minor flaking when I peel after pressing. Do you know off hand what could cause that? I adjusted the temp and time, time under cure, still kinda get the same issue. Printing on 100% cotton.

    • @DTFSuperstore
      @DTFSuperstore  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      You might not have enough white underbase, it might not be cured all the way, it might be overcured, your temp might be too hot on the heat press. There are quite a few options.

    Hi, we do a 10 second dry for the ink then to power right after. we get a good coating of power but what is puzzling is that sometimes (we do hot peel) they print well and sometimes not, sometimes they will not stick at the edge when we start the peel. would that be the press temperature? just looking for your opinion? just wondering, what are your settings for pressing? been using 315 for 35 seconds then 10 to 15 seconds on second press.
    really like the video. thank you,

    • @DTFSuperstore
      @DTFSuperstore  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your temps and time seem fine. We have two thoughts, try a higher pressure and also try waiting a little longer before you powder. Your transfers will likely feel softer and if your powder is thicker it might not be melting enough when you're pressing. That may be what giving you the inconsistent peel.

    • @DTFSuperstore
      @DTFSuperstore  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmmmm, I am doing 15 seconds at 302 like the powder I bought instructs and then letting it cool completely, peeling and doing another 15 seconds. I am using heavy pressure. I just started doing 4 minutes as the video suggests between 1.5 and 5. Maybe the powder I'm using? I do tend to put it through the powder twice so that I know there is enough. • @DTFSuperstore

      We did not film all of the represses. Edited those out for time. Yes smaller details like halftone dots and fine lines do dry faster but if your humidity and temp are in the proper range 70-75 F and 40-60% humidity those fine details should still pick up the powder.
