Michael penix is amazing. Never seen any QB this good in UW history.
Warren Moon? Granted he was before my time and that's probably the best QB the program ever produced that I could contest with. Michael Penix is honesty a great talent, probably the best QB I've seen as well.
Mark Brunell? Marques Tuiososopo? Jake Locker?

Amen brother. Scenes like this are beautiful. It reminds me of that line from Moneyball, “How can you not be romantic about baseball?”. You get more sincere emotions at these lower or amateur levels of sports, that get sanitized in the big leagues. I love watching this sport so much.

It’s not just a nice story, he’s an excellent qb. Tremendous anticipation, puts it in spots only his guys can grab it. Idk what his ceiling is and I don’t like to get into the prediction business, but his arm talent is the top of this draft class at this moment.
If he stays healthy and a leader he has the highest ceiling in this years draft class
Fr. So many nfl throws on his tape. Decision making is off the charts. He can hit really tight windows and throws a legit fastball. Future franchise qb imo
Love watching Penix; and, as an Indiana University grad-and-fan, I am rooting for the young man. Nevertheless, remember what everyone was saying about Jacob Eason, how great Eason was at Washington, and how Eason was going to dominate the NFL. That didn't happen; did it? I hope it happens for Penix. He throws the prettiest ball I've seen in a long time. Delbert Blanton. Kokomo, Indiana.
Eason was a great QB, but was cocky and had that "all me" attitude. He would throw 3 tds against a top 25 one game, then throw 3 into against a 1-5 team and not care. Come draft interview, experts were writing him off as cocky and leadership issues. Sooo penix has a +1 there
Also to add as a UW fan and living in atlanta, some friends of mine that are georgia graduate alumni said jacob was a huge party boy and immature at Georgia
@@The_MAD_IT_LADI was at UW in 2019 and can confirm through a mutual friend that Eason is/was a massive partier and stoner. From what I’ve heard he pretty much coasted all the way from high school to the NFL off of pure natural ability. I thought we would be elite in 2019 but quickly realized Eason had no head for the position after the Cal loss. Sad tbh

You take a beating in the NFL. Rookie quarterbacks starting in the NFL are usually on bad teams which means bad O lines and poor running games which means more of a beating for the rookie QB. So many amazing college football quarterbacks don't move up to the next level, but the game is so different and requires so much more.

Eason was a great Highschool Quarterback but struggled at the College level. He was tall and had a big arm that probably would have served him better in MLB as a pitcher. You can't mention him in the same sentence with Penix! He is a next level talent and I loved watching his family embrace and pray with him after the game! GO DAWGS!!!

Its just too bad this game exposed Washington to the nation. It would have been great if Washington could have actually won the game without Oregon having to take donations for Dawg nation with all the UNFORCED risks to lose it. They should have lost. They lost almost every measurable facet of that game except the score. Which yes is all they need but they were only able to get that because of poor decisions made by Oregon's coach and several impossible completions panics and his wide receivers were able to make. I wouldn't expect to get those every week day straight up s*** a lost and they had a n extra week to prepare for a home game against their toughest opponent this year.

Neither of these teams belongs in the playoff. 2nd and goal from the 1 and you run plays out of shotgun formation. 3rd and 2 with two plays to seal the game and Oregon runs plays out of shotgun. These West Coast coaches are complete buffoons. They're just coaching flashy football, not winning football. I'd easily take a 2-loss Big Ten or SEC team over Washington.
