This camera is really calling me. I suffered a serious brain injury 4 years ago when assaulted at work by a violent inmate. I had brain surgery and since then learning to walk and talk again. Suffered bad cognitive troubles but photography is helping. It gets me out and makes me think and it just feels good to create a beautiful image. I need to save some money and buy this camera I love black and white. ❤️
Wow! What terrific results and advice you give! About the posts about the cost of the M10Monochrom itself……I agonized for months about getting one with starter glass, about 12K USD. One day I was lamenting again to a friend about the conflict I was having over buying or not buying. My friend said something like “you just need to go forward and do it, it isn’t worth the worry you are going thru.” Well, I took his advice and bought. Looking back over the last year, I was happy I did, even though I had a undiagnosed problem with the Leica used lens I bought with the camera at the Leica store. I’m still glad I went forward and did it. It.was excellent advice from a wise friend.
The one of the main the a coat at 3.15 is quite outstanding. Beautiful pictures overall, there's something interesting in each and every frame! It's always fun to see what Alan Schaller produces. And thank you to Leica for posting these type of segments
i thought the same and nearly every outstanding photographer says that. "don`t focus on the equipment.." my total respect for his work but it`s just bla bla for me... why they don`t shoot on old nokia phones or something similiar. why a camera that costs more then a car?
@@cocobolo_chris exactly! I see most of the focused on crazy expensive cameras or medium format film... it´s rare to see someone shoot with a simple digital camera and in jpeg for example.
So go back to M monochrom which is no live view display as good as this M10 monochrom, I doubt this M10 monochrom will produce b&w photo close to film as the M monochrom .
I bought the M10D because it doesn’t have a screen. Many commented that the screen resolution on M8 & M9 cameras are not great. So, in the case of MD or M10D, it retains the full digital work flow on a M system and can be used until the day the sensor fails.
Gorgeous images. The question remains of the gear brand : shooting with a M is an incomparable experiment, but is it the condition for such good pictures ? The issue with a M monochrome and a single lens is that you always make the same kind of pictures. I changed my M240 for an other brand and honestly, even if it doesn't feel the same, my pictures are more varied and look better in my opinion.
Its like buying a Mercedes or BMW when Honda and Toyota are better choices. If all you want is the name then start saving pennies while others are taking pictures.
He says "people carry too much equipment".... very true and especially after you blow your whole wad on this camera body. You will not have enough left over for anything else maybe just one old used lens.
I love the feel of Leicas. I own a M9 and currently a Q and use them both daily. However I wonder what are the noticeable advantage of using monochrome only camera vs converting your colored photos in PP. Better dynamic range? Better low light? A certain aesthetic or look that can’t be replicated?
I dont tested it by myself. But the overall Quality and sharpness s better, because they dont have the subpixels for the color. I think thats what they called it. ^^ But i think, its also the feeling of the purity not to think about colors. Only for geometry.
It's not just a software conversion to black and white, there's no colour filters on the sensor which means the sensor captures black and white images in far higher quality with much more dynamic range.
Ciao a tutti!!! . . Hiiii everyone!!! I am a photojournalist and for my daily work I even use an old lady like the M9... Here I leave the link of my long term review: the rangefinder, the ccd sensor, the sensitivity that does not reach stratospheric figures. In short, compared to the products that other brands churn out, it would seem like a "loser" machine. Yet that is not the case. The medium manages to connect the subjects and the author in a unique way. Plus it's small and light. And the lenses (coupled to the sensor) give a very special value to the images that are made. In short, choosing Leica is not like relying on other brands. You do it, in my opinion, for a thoughtful decision, because you know where you want to go, what kind of photography you're aiming for. I am no one, I would like to show some examples (a review of images taken a little in all conditions, low light, dynamic photos, street portraits ...) to give a concrete reading of the potential. The photos were taken with 28 Elmarit f2.8. th-cam.com/video/aHyz8DY-yo0/w-d-xo.html

While I agree an extreme wide angle lens can be dynamic by its mere existence, a more pedestrian FOV, like 35mm, mimics our natural sight. So yes, it's "boring" because it doesn't force a wild perspective. Thus, you have to make an image impactful with light, composition and a strong message.
