Good call on Sainz going to Williams, but as you said it was probably his best option. If he can finish in the points on a more regular basis it will be seen as a success with Albon only getting two ninth place finishes so far this season. I’m sure Sainz can improve on that as long as the car is reliable and hopefully a little more competitive when he gets going.
I wouldn't underestimate Mick Schumacher at Alpine. Famin speaks highly of him (but I guess most team bosses do that about their drivers) and he drove the fastest laps on average of all the 6 Alpine drivers in the first three races in WEC despite being a rookie. If he does well at Le Mans this weekend (where he has been talking to Gasly in the pits), who knows?
@@RockSolitude Well anyone who is not a Mick Schumacher fanatic knows Mick got thrashed by Kevin in 2022. And it seems like this has ended Mick's F1 career.

Williams - Albon, Lawson Kick - Nico, Bottas Red Bull - Max, Carlos VCARB - Yuki, Daniel McLaren - Lando, Oscar Haas - Oliver, Ocon Ferrari - Charles, Lewis Aston Martin - Fernando, Perez Alpine - Gasly, Doohan Lets have some fun shall we hahaha
I hope he does. We saw what he could do with a car that was semi-quick on occasion in only his first and second years in F1. A shame he had such bad luck and reliability, and still is. A lot of fans just seem to ignore that part.
Speaking of Kimi, Kimi Raikoennen had extra stewards just monitoring him for a his first hand full of races, because he was deemed to young and experienced and a possible danger to other drivers (which he was, if they liked winning). I believe he was already older than 20 (but to be fair, had only like 11 car races done before starting in F1).
It still nuts to me, that RedBull is not signing Sainz. I mean how shit does Perez have to be for them to sign Sainz. The RedBill is less competitive this year and if that trend continues they will need a strong second driver next year to secure the constructors, and Perez is not gonna be good enough to do that.
They should start reducing the budget cap for teams that have unequal driver lineups. Lose $5 million * difference in average finishing position. Not applicable if one of the drivers is a rookie. Well, Antonelli's definitely going somewhere. Just yesterday the FIA changed their own rules to allow a 17 year old to drive...Someone (Toto Wolff) is putting the pressure on for him and it's not just so he can do another season of F2.
Putting aside a variety of logistical and cost issues, how good would it be to have 10 reserve drivers + top 10 F2 drivers duke it out a week after the last race in Abu Dabi every year in current F1 machinery? Would give us all a tremendous insight into who was ACTUALLY good.
Saw someone say a few years ago that Sainz tends to "fail upwards" so here's hoping he goes to Williams and Williams becomes the next team to shoot up the order.
Call me crazy.. There's 0 chance that Perez will be in a RB if he performs like this and they'll lose the Constructors Title.. There HAS to be an exit/VCARB clause in that contract.
Way too much recency bias with fans, I've noticed It's as if everyone forgot his performance in Bahrain at the start of this year. The only thing I can fault him for is his Qualifying pace on some weekends, but other than that, it's been nothing but bad luck and 15-year pit stops since Bahrain. Zhou is far over-slandered compared to the likes of Sargeant, Ocon, and even Ricciardo when he isn't having one of his DannyRic weekends of old...
If Lawrence Stroll wants a really competitive team, he should sign Sainz. Two Spanish drivers in one team will create a nice hype as well. Would be one of the best driver pairings on the grid. How is this never discussed as an option.
Doing a 2025 driver market prediction mid season is like doing a Premier League prediction half way through the season. You already kind of know where everyone will be. Also more than half the contracts have been signed.
Putting Antonelli in a Mercedes and Sainz in a Williams is a crime. I totally understand the reasoning, but it's eerily similar to the Perez situation where a driver is in a top team for all the wrong reasons.
The partners that stay together for the same for many year are the ones that have a world winning championship car and there is a lot of difference in performance within each other. Examples: Schumacher and Barrichello and Hamilton and Bottas
RB dropping Ricciardo after he helped with car development input to get the team from barely scoring points to scoring every weekend would also be insane. In some cases it's better to have a better performing driver and a driver that isn't on the same level but still decent that can develop the car to be in the points more.
My predictions for the last seats remaining: Alpine: Zhou I agree with Tommy here, I don't think Jack Doohan is the best option, he hasn't been talked about as much compered to Bearman and Antonelli. Zhou also needs a better car, he has proved he can score points in 2022/23, but 24 isn't Sauber's year. He has shined in many races during his stint like Bahrain 2022, Canada 2022, Spain and Qatar 2023 and even Bahrain 2024(he was the leading midfield driver). RB: Lawson Helmut Marko has promised him a seat in 2025, and with Perez underperforming, I changed my mind about Ricciardo being in Red Bull, he absolutely deserves it now that he's been performing better and keeping up with Yuki, so he can vacate that seat and Liam can fill in that seat instead. Mercedes: Antonelli All the hype has been around him recently and with Williams locking in their lineup, I think Mercedes is the only logical place for him to go. Sauber: Mick Schumacher It makes sense, as Sauber is becoming Audi, an all-German lineup would be the only logical choice to promote the team.(Just make sure he doesn't crash too much like he did in his first two years)
In competitiveness terms I'd hate for Carlos to be stuck at the back in a Williams, but in terms of line-up, a Vowles, Albon, and Sainz team is fantastic.
Could pay off handsomely in 2026 with James in charge during the reg changes. Besides, the car could be a lot more competitive than we're led to believe since Logan isn't performing very well compared to Albon.
Matt is off his rocker with Lawson to Alpine...Doohan will be there. Would be nuts for them to raise up another young driver of their own and spend all that money to just bring in another young driver from elsewhere. Also Doohan showed more promise in F2 than Lawson in my opinion.
DR isnt that bad… TSU is just super good but DR is close to him and sometimes in front of him. So if you say DR is bad than you cant say TSU ist super good

I agree with Tommy, that Alpine seat is probably gonna end up with someone from the Alpine academy, cause they need to prove they actually care about that. They got no chance at Piastri but people forget that Zhou was also an Alpine academy driver, so I agree it's probably between Zhou and Doohan.
What are the best driver and team pairings based on driving style? That seems like it'd be more important to have similar style drivers so to develop a car in the same direction

My DR3 delusion keeps telling me he'll continue his Canada form till season's end and Perez will be in a VCARB next year.
Honestly Red Bull would love this outcome
@@Duval-In-The-WallI think it’s actually a factor in having confidence to sign Checo so early, I genuinely agree that Red Bull would LOVE an excuse to get Danny back alongside max for a season or two before he retires. If he can get it together and out perform Yuki, and Checo continues to struggle I can see it. It’ll be a tough task though cause Yuki is having a career defining season just in the nick of time.
@@GarageGamer93
It’s a tough task because Ricciardo is so damn inconsistent. If he just performed the way he did at Canada every week there would be no complaints
When Ricciardo hooks it together, he is better than Tsunoda. His underperformance made people think the VCARB was slower than it was
For me, there are no excuses, Tsunoda is doing fine, but IMO it’s gotten to the point where points finishes should be the expectation for the team
Putting Perez in a Vcarb for 2025 would be a waste of seat. He would better go home and watch his 4 kids grow up.
@@soundscape26 I'm honestly surprised he didn't make that choice. I think Checo is great guy, and a not bad, but not great driver, and wish him all the best.
The thumbnail accurately predicted 2 out of 3 drivers so far, maybe zhou in alpine isn’t too far off
I think RB will somehow end up with Yuki, and Lawson takes the VCARB seat
They don’t want him, they’ve been clear about that
Good call on Sainz going to Williams, but as you said it was probably his best option. If he can finish in the points on a more regular basis it will be seen as a success with Albon only getting two ninth place finishes so far this season. I’m sure Sainz can improve on that as long as the car is reliable and hopefully a little more competitive when he gets going.
this aged well
Crazy how money can take a seat away from many amazing drivers and give to someone’s son
Is there a scenario where they put bottas in the merc and antonelli in the williams?
Considering Vowles said he's after Sainz or Bottas I would say no. Also Bottas said he wants a longtime project, never less than 3 years I assume.
No
I think Bottas will only go back if he gets a multi year deal, which they won't give him.
I like how you can still see the red suit under Carlos Sainz
Poor guy doesn’t want to take off his Ferrari overalls
I wouldn't underestimate Mick Schumacher at Alpine. Famin speaks highly of him (but I guess most team bosses do that about their drivers) and he drove the fastest laps on average of all the 6 Alpine drivers in the first three races in WEC despite being a rookie. If he does well at Le Mans this weekend (where he has been talking to Gasly in the pits), who knows?
Why not get Kevin Magnussen back? Lol
@@chamindujanith6337 Just so he can crash into more drivers? Kevin was beat by Mick himself H2H in 2022.
@@RockSolitude Well anyone who is not a Mick Schumacher fanatic knows Mick got thrashed by Kevin in 2022. And it seems like this has ended Mick's F1 career.
Toto also spoke very highly of Mick ever since he signed him as their reserve driver. The fact that after all that praise, his name has never been mentioned as a possibility is all we need to know.
@@RockSolitude Why do Mick fans just openly LIE about things everyone know isn't true? Pathetic.
Williams - Albon, Lawson
Kick - Nico, Bottas
Red Bull - Max, Carlos
VCARB - Yuki, Daniel
McLaren - Lando, Oscar
Haas - Oliver, Ocon
Ferrari - Charles, Lewis
Aston Martin - Fernando, Perez
Alpine - Gasly, Doohan
Lets have some fun shall we hahaha
I dont think zhou will have a seat next year
I hope he does. We saw what he could do with a car that was semi-quick on occasion in only his first and second years in F1. A shame he had such bad luck and reliability, and still is. A lot of fans just seem to ignore that part.
I hope he does, he is one of the best rookie since 2022, he scored 6 points on every year, people forget that part. Give him a solid car.
Yep... nice guy but have never seen anything so special about him.
@@Wolfywolf7 yeah agreed but this year his form is not good at all, and some bad luck to
@@soundscape26 he has done some good races but he’s had a lot of bad luck
Alpine: Gasly, Doohan
Aston Martin: Alonso, Stroll
Ferrari: Leclerc, Hamilton
Haas: Ocon, Bearman (although I really don't think Ocon deserves a seat)
McLaren: Norris, Piastri
Mercedes: Russel, Antonelli
RB: Tsunoda, Lawson
Red Bull: Verstappen, Perez
Sauber: Sainz, Hulkenberg
Williams: Albon, Mick Schumacher
here after sainz to williams
Lawson and Russel would be a brilliant driver pairing
Instantly skipped to minute 15 to start watching, first thing I hear: "in a nutshell, we have no idea"
Lovely. Simply lovely.
The 2025 driver lineup could be very interesting if it has tons of twists.
Perez bring alot of money in sponsorship
They should start reducing the budget cap for teams that have unequal driver lineups.
Lose $5 million * difference in average finishing position. Not applicable if one of the drivers is a rookie.
I think that’s the only way F1 is guaranteed not to have absolutely shit drivers take away seats from more deserving drivers.
@@paperplane-db8qf I think everyone is forgetting redbull is a marketing company
@@suchitchheda9675 they don’t get extra marketing from having a shit driver underperform.
Millions in dollars in fixing broken cars. Tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue from the WCC. And lots of non Mexican sponsors are going to ditch Redbull once they aren’t dominant because of the shit second driver.
They don't want to paid that much for Sainz, Pérez brings money and keeps Max happy. Is that really difficult to understand?
My tipp for Alpine is Nelson Piquet Jr. They just signed Flavio Briatore and I think he can use a guy like that.
Prediction:
Merc: George and Ocon
Williams: Albon and Sainz
Haas: Bearman and Bottas
Alpine: Gasly and Doohan
Stake: Hulk and Lawson
Vcarb: Riccardo and Tsunoda
Well, Antonelli's definitely going somewhere. Just yesterday the FIA changed their own rules to allow a 17 year old to drive...Someone (Toto Wolff) is putting the pressure on for him and it's not just so he can do another season of F2.
Putting aside a variety of logistical and cost issues, how good would it be to have 10 reserve drivers + top 10 F2 drivers duke it out a week after the last race in Abu Dabi every year in current F1 machinery?
Would give us all a tremendous insight into who was ACTUALLY good.
”Let’s start in reverse alphabetical order”
Starts with Alexander Albon
i think he meant reverse order for teams
Must be difficult to live with half a brain.
@@elliesvidscool Yes, they meant the teams I think the OP's point was more the coincidence in starting with an AA driver.
4:07 well
Mick Schumacher at Alpine
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😆😂🤣🤣🤣
5:26 Lawson never getting his debut at ths rate. Ricciardo is done. They want Tsunoda to test Lawson
matt cooked on sainz
Saw someone say a few years ago that Sainz tends to "fail upwards" so here's hoping he goes to Williams and Williams becomes the next team to shoot up the order.
My prediction:
RB: Verstappen, Perez
Ferrari: Leclerc, Hamilton
McLaren: Norris, Piastri
Mercedes: Russel, Antonelli
AM: Alonso, Stroll
VCARB: Tsunoda, Lawson
Williams: Albon, Sainz
Alpine: Gasly, Zhou
Haas: Bearman, Magnussen
Stake: Hulkenberg, Bottas
Alpine should've been Lawson and Zhou.
@@purwantiallan5089 they are 100 percent gonna keep gasly bro
Call me crazy..
There's 0 chance that Perez will be in a RB if he performs like this and they'll lose the Constructors Title.. There HAS to be an exit/VCARB clause in that contract.
Zho getting a seat is criminal to be honest….
Money speaks tho
It’s to please the CCP with F1
on the basis of his current form, he doesn't deserve one.
With stroll having a seat this statement is false
Way too much recency bias with fans, I've noticed
It's as if everyone forgot his performance in Bahrain at the start of this year.
Did both of you forget that Daniel got into the top six at Canada and China?
U weren’t wrong about Carlos 😢😢
If Lawrence Stroll wants a really competitive team, he should sign Sainz. Two Spanish drivers in one team will create a nice hype as well. Would be one of the best driver pairings on the grid. How is this never discussed as an option.
I've thought all this season Sainz would be great at Aston with Alonso, disappointed others not considering it an option
Not sure who's admitting their desperation more if Haas takes Ocon
They should take Bottas or just stick with Magnussen (with Bearman).
The partners that stay together for the same for many year are the ones that have a world winning championship car and there is a lot of difference in performance within each other. Examples: Schumacher and Barrichello and Hamilton and Bottas
RB picking washed Ricciardo over Liam Lawson after promising him a seat for 2025 would be the biggest disrespect ever.
RB dropping Ricciardo after he helped with car development input to get the team from barely scoring points to scoring every weekend would also be insane. In some cases it's better to have a better performing driver and a driver that isn't on the same level but still decent that can develop the car to be in the points more.
My predictions for the last seats remaining:
Alpine: Zhou
I agree with Tommy here, I don't think Jack Doohan is the best option, he hasn't been talked about as much compered to Bearman and Antonelli.
RB: Lawson
Helmut Marko has promised him a seat in 2025, and with Perez underperforming, I changed my mind about Ricciardo being in Red Bull, he absolutely deserves it now that he's been performing better and keeping up with Yuki, so he can vacate that seat and Liam can fill in that seat instead.
Mercedes: Antonelli
All the hype has been around him recently and with Williams locking in their lineup, I think Mercedes is the only logical place for him to go.
Sauber: Mick Schumacher
It makes sense, as Sauber is becoming Audi, an all-German lineup would be the only logical choice to promote the team.(Just make sure he doesn't crash too much like he did in his first two years)
In competitiveness terms I'd hate for Carlos to be stuck at the back in a Williams, but in terms of line-up, a Vowles, Albon, and Sainz team is fantastic.
Could pay off handsomely in 2026 with James in charge during the reg changes. Besides, the car could be a lot more competitive than we're led to believe since Logan isn't performing very well compared to Albon.
1:46 is his first name spelled wrong on the car?
I want Tsunoda in Aston Martin.
*Astroll Martin
Matt is off his rocker with Lawson to Alpine...Doohan will be there. Would be nuts for them to raise up another young driver of their own and spend all that money to just bring in another young driver from elsewhere. Also Doohan showed more promise in F2 than Lawson in my opinion.
Ngl I think Mazaspin will replace Hamilton
NGL?
Why Mazepin btw?

Remember Antonelli hasn’t even done F3 and has enough super licence points already.
I think Liam Lawson shot himself in the foot when he questioned why the team made the decision he did.
i am hoping for mick schumacher with alpine.
DR isnt that bad… TSU is just super good but DR is close to him and sometimes in front of him. So if you say DR is bad than you cant say TSU ist super good
He is 35 at a junior team.
@@filmgeschichte.Sister team* vcarbs isn't much of a jr team anymore and more like a sister team but it shouldn't matter if an older driver is there, there can be many positives. The biggest advantages of having an older driver is their experience which can help the other driver perform better and can help the car development in ways the other driver may not be able to which we have seen firsthand.
If Ocon goes to haas that'll just screw up Bearmans development with Ocon's stunts

I hope they get Antonelli in the Williams in the Dutch GP.
that's assuming lawson is being looked at by alpine. but he's not. no other team even thinks about him.
People keep forgetting Ricciardo put in a worldie of a lap when he tested the RedBull.
Carlos Sainz deserves better than Williams
..and now we are three bad races in for Perez
What are the best driver and team pairings based on driving style? That seems like it'd be more important to have similar style drivers so to develop a car in the same direction
If only Andretti Cadillac was allowed into F1 and 2 more drivers could compete.
I think Matt is massively overlooking the investment Alpine have made in Doohans testing schedule in the 22 car
Bottas to Merc and Antonelli to Williams makes so much more sense. Why would Bottas work for James again after being forced to give up wins
I mean lol. James was just doing what he was told. Your argument sounds like an argument against joining merc.
