When it was announced that Rudy was back with Quiet Riot I knew it was a management decision right away. There were too many complaints online (and elsewhere?) that the band was no longer legitimate even though Chuck Wright of course has a history with Quiet Riot. Management knew that they had to do something about this. Rudy's face is of course on the Metal Health album and his presence would be expected to help sell tickets and give the band some legitimacy again since really, it is more a tribute band at this point... even with Rudy. By the way, Chuck, if you read this, I checked out the samples on Amazon, great stuff, and I ordered the CD.

Chuck played on 2 songs on the Metal Health album,so he was the closest link to the classic QR line up. Rudy being back in QR is cool. Rudy is an incredible performer who leaves it all out on the stage. What a career!
I met QR a few times and meeting Chuck was beyond awesome. It's rare to meet band members like him. And to have photos of you shaking his hand, having a conversation - backstage - is definitely a dream come true. He was really cool and answered all my questions. Then I then talked with Frankie. Hey Jimmy - I did some background singing on their Lap Of Luxury album not Busted - I don;t even list the Cheap Trick album on my discography on my website - thank you reminded me maybe I will :)
the truth is, when RR left QR, Kevin started calling his band DuBrow so it was clear he was the boss...AND he had always planned to call it QR again later on if he got signed...so the MH QR is not 100% disconnected from the RR QR as Chuck says...in fact several songs were played by both versions...like Slick Black Cadillac for one...
So Kevin actually didn't want to re-record Cadillac. It was upon Frankie's request, as he really liked the song and was a fan of the band with Randy Rhoads.
Also, Rudy was initially invited to just record "Thunderbird" as a tribute to Randy after his passing and they ended up staying in the studio to record the majority of what became the Metal Health album.

I've yet to see Quiet Riot on-stage; my friends all had stories of a good time even though 'Cruisin'-in' has been closed ; but, the '80s_rocked!
I knew him for Quiet Riot III and from House of Lords, all his music catalog for almost all the time he was a guest musician on all those records..
