Thank you so much for this video! I was devastated when I hurt my left hand but thanks to your video I made a similar stand, emulated your stitch technique and now I’m on track to getting back to what I love to do, crochet ❤. I’ve been ill for almost a year and crochet is the only thing that makes me feel productive. Thank you for helping me keep that small joy!

Thank you for your video. I lost my left arm due to a stroke. My husband made me this great aid to be my second hand.. I can croquet again!

Thanks for posting this! I came across your video looking for unilateral crochet ideas for a patient that has suffered a stroke. I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant and will try making this for her!

Wow! I’ve been looking for something to help me crochet with one hand. I recently got a embroidery hoop stand that looks similar to your device. I’m going to try to modify it so that I can use it for crochet!💡

Angela Rovai - Hi she received it on her birthday 25th November. She was delighted with it and she is going to try and crochet each week with me there. Thanks again for this amazing idea. 😊

I suffered a massive stroke 10 years ago and still have paralysis in my left hand. This is a clever idea! Were you able to make this yourself? Or can people like me purchase this? Thank you so much!😊

Rose Bainbridge I’m just seeing this comment now! You were able to make something similar?

Could you tell me the length of your board and how you attached your clip. I have a friend that lost her area and I am going to try and make on of these for her ... any other info that you could share would be helpful. I can do a bit with wood and I am hoping I can do this for her

I know this is an old comment but in case anyone else has this problem I thought I’d answer with my solution. If you want to attach it to a heavy book, get a piece of wood as tall as your elbow to your fingertips, minus the height of the heavy book. Make the holes for the hook and for the tightening bolt at the level that your hand can bend, not parallel to the ground, but halfway parallel (hand more straight than bent). That’s what’s comfortable for me. I got a clamp from Home Depot instead of a big clip because I couldn’t find that. I also used a square dowl, about an inch by an inch thick, instead of the thinner plank. This way the holes for the hooks could be bigger (my hooks are ergonomic and chunky).
I recommend epoxy to set the nut in the wood for the bolt to twist into, that way it’s slightly enveloped in glue and won’t pop out when you tighten the bold on the hook. Also, add a little bit of glue to the end of your bolt so that it doesn’t scratch your hook; this will also help it hold the hook better. I also used wire to attach a flower shaped button to the exposed end of my bolt, then secured the wire with epoxy, so that it was easier for me to tighten the bolt (using the octagon-esk button to turn instead of the not so fun to touch treading on the bolt).
      Hope that makes sense!

    Do you sell these??

I do not, but it’s pretty simple to make if you are handy or have someone to do some drilling. I made this for a class in OT school. Classmates joked about me making and selling these, I didn’t think there would be real inquiries!
