But were going back like 9 years at least I'm 25 now and I dont do it anymore and rarely see it outside of post defeat salt. Maybe I've just outgrown it or maybe the landscape has changed since gaming has overtaken most other forms of entertainment in popularity and become more mainstream. I dont think harassment is more prevalent for female gamers specifically, I just think sexism is just like racism, xenophobia or just straight up taking piss. When your a young person feeling frustrated about life sometimes you just say horrible shit to vent. Back in the day I think that most people just accepted this as part of the culture and therefore didn't get too worked up by it. But as all online interactions became more common place and more intertwined with the real world, the sensibilities of those interactions changed.
How does this “campaign” empower women? If anything its existence implies that they can’t deal with toxicity without the help of others. Anyway great video.

The biggest issue with using this study for the extrapolation was the sample size of this statistic was so small, and their extrapolation is so far off the findings (leaving a single game =/= NEVER TOUCHING A CONTROLLER OR MOBILE PHONE APP FOREVER AND EVER AGAIN) that it was simply ludicrous the reach involved. During the 'spicey jumping' time on the collapse, Adyn Paladin did a good look at the studies related to online bullying as well as the general data dumbness of the stream. Good stuff.
I asked 4 people in the world if they liked to play "insert game" and 3 of them said no. So that means out of a million people 750,000 people don't like to play that game. Yeah that's a pretty messed-up way to do statistics.

The person pointed out how they were never playing CS:GO, just watching others elsewhere playing. The video also talked about how the males that were being vulgar were actually paid to do so. This was an ad campaign that turned ugly.
This is the worst way they could have ‘empowered’ ‘gamer girls’: 1. They can just leave a match,ignore and/or report the player 2. They are letting themselves be affected by bullies and showing them they are only strong in groups. 3. What if the bully is on your side in a team match 4. Full servers,nuff said 5. How will it stop that person from going into another match and bullying teammates (female or otherwise) And I could go on
What I find funny is because of the type of game it was the "victim" must have been being "harassed" by her own team mate and then we see the Bullyhunter kill the "victim" along with the "harasser", that is just priceless.
