What an era it was , full of Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Australian, Indian legends. Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist, Jayawardane, Sanggakara, Dilsan, Jayasuriya, inzimam - ul- haq, saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, shoaib akhtar, imran Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid , md Azharuddin, Ajay Jadega,Dhoni etc. Missing those days
Really I miss your opening pair in 90s , i was in school those days, many times I bunked classes 😀 to watch first 15 overs of Pakistan inning and enjoyed each and every moment of that time.

Shane warne once said that saeed anwar would be in my team for all time odi's world XI. Justin langer, sourav ganguly many left handers used to admire saeed anwar. Australian's are huge fan of saeed. Very few cricketers who are well educated and decent. Saeed anwar is one of them.
Oh yes . Anwar.I still remember that innings of 194 against INDIA in 1997.he smashed bowlers every where in the park. I must say he was such a dangerous left hand opner. His best shot was when hit six to fast BOWLERS in between deep square leg to cow corner. In that era very few players with strong wrist ( anwar, Robin Singh,ijaz Ahmad,jaisurya,Graham hick,Hayden)
And even MARK WAUGH.

Sorry friend I don't agree with you. I think there was a hugh difference in class between Amir Sohail and Saeed Anwar batting wise. With all due respect to amir he was just ok type batsman while anwar was different league at that time.

Amir has it's own class, it is a different story that after 1996 he was inducted into different boiling situations like identifying and exposing mafia in cricket,constantly getting in and out of the team by the board, mafia pressure, team grouping pressure but he still never gave up, tried the best he can under constant pressure. @@msrdrali348 brother as being an Indian i don't know much about politics in pak cricket but I as a fan of 1990's pak team I can only say though I like aamir sohail's TH-cam channel but batting wise he was not that great. Odi average of less than 32 and test average of less than 36 are not great nos. And above all when u see them batting together its obvious that saeed was just more natural. Runs came more easily to saeed and aamir had to work hard for his. And every international batsman always have few good innings but great players are those who do that more often.
Amrit Virk he just played 156 one. Days and Saeed played 247. With due respect Aamir played so many good innings when Pak team in crucial times

Amir's attacking and aggressive behavior showed by his body language too e.g. his wide legged batting stance with upheld bat,it's looks ungainly for some but in fact he was more comfortable that way for attacking bowlers. His another observable behavioral was his unstoppable chasing of the ball going out side the off stump as he loved to pull which sometimes a hindrance in converting his 40s into 50s or 70s into 100s. His philosophy of the game was to invent a drive out of good deliveries such was his attacking nature. For me he is great because that's the way I liked it.

Saeed Anwar is the best batsman pakistan has produced. He was the real reason of pak team strength in 1990's. Good to see babar azam might become the best with time. But saeed was sheer class too.

@@amritvirk6653 Amir had to say bye bye when he was ready to break the world records with his bat .After 1996 his plane got some violent jolts and crashed while Saeed landed smoothly. I don't agree with your analysis if debate is for who is better than the other. Both are classy and stylish stoke players ,but Amir takes a lead given his attacking attitude was a terror to the bowlers and that also helped Saeed to get out of his fear. You can't compare these two given Amir has much shorter career than Saeed .Saeed continued when reached maturity level and Amir had a forceful exit at that time. Sigh!
@@msrdrali348 brother that is ur opinion and I respect it but in my opinion amir sohail can not be compared with anwar, inzimam or yousaf. Fair comparison should be with ijaz ahmed and ramiz raja. And honestly ijaz is one of my favorites too. From our Indian side I don't think amir can even be compared with sachin saurav dravid sehwag or yuvraj. Not mean to say Indians are superior than Pakistanis but historically Indians have been better batsman and Pakistanis better bowlers. But maybe saeed always scored against us or just his natural talent he was always my favorite batsman. But thts my opinion and might not be true in general.

But I wonder on what bases you compare Amir sohail with Ramiz Raja who has different batting style,too cautious, too slow, he used to use so many overs to open up while Amir was an attacking batsman. Your argument is so fluffy to me .For me they all were world class batters ,the difference lies in the lengths of their careers which is hard to understand for those whose peer review is entirely on the bases of 'sum of innings divided by the counts'. What made Amir Sohail so great is his attacking batting style he showed that by his body language too always appeared like a tiger on hunt when it stalks and embushes it's prey. Imagine if Amir never had spoken out and had a career longer and smoother like rest of the batters what could be his averages on the board given his aggressive attitude . Anyways agree or not for me nothing compares to Amir, his beautiful innings are still embedded in our minds no matter how short his career was. (No offence taken) Regards!

yes it was dream opening pair which entertained us throught the 90s however i wanted to ask you this what was it like how did u have such chemistry and camaraderie how long did it take maybe a year to get it right and Was Saeed Anwar a difficult person to deal with in the middle and in the dressing room what was he like before he became mashallah a more devout muslim
Aslam Alekum Aamir bhai. It was a brilliant video. Whenever we talk about Pakistan cricket of nineties we straight away go to the Wasim and Waqar. But actually both you and Saeed Anwar were the other reason that Pakistan cricket team of that era was so enjoyable to watch. I became a cricket fan just after watching both of you hammer the bowlers in almost all the matches of 1996 World Cup. I wish if Pakistan could have players like you and him in today’s time. I pray that both of you and your families live a long healthy and prosperous life.

1993-96 Pakistan team should have dominated cricket but grouping and fixing destroyed the team unity. As a Pakistani, I will always regret it. That team had 7-8 match winners.
@@arcticwanderer2109 agree Windies was on decline, Aussies were not strong and Africa was in transition. Unfortunately Shri Lanka became ODI super power. They spilled chances in windies 1993, Australia 89 and 95, lost atest to zimbabwe, lost to India whom they beat so much in 92 and 96 world cups and India drew 89 series and Shri Lanka defeated them in test and odis in 95. These things beillitle their dominance. They defeated India, SL, Nzl, WI but South Africa and Australia dominated them, SL and windies did well in patches and India too had defeated in critical matches. Moreovwr they lost to Zimbabwe defeated them in 98. This seriously hampers their great tag.
@@yogeshb8368 Definitely, some tough losses in the 90s. 92 WC and 92 England test series win had created a huge momentum, two Ws decimating sides on regular basis, formidable opening and middle order batsmen, all ingredients were there but team chemistry was lacking. After Javed retired, Malik was the oldest player at 31 and the rest of the squad were all in there early or mid 20s. They clearly lacked a leader.

Saeed Anwar is a name that is parallel to Jawed bhai and Zaheer bhai when it comes to great Pakistani batsmen. Any praise for him will fall short on the true character & potential that he possesed . Another thing, since you stated that you & Saeed-ji are fans of Prince. If you may not be knowing this, but before he became a solo performer, he was part of a band called 94 East. There are some real hidden gems in their albums which I think you will like.
