Amtrak Station Tour | White River Junction, Vermont | Vermonter Arrives!

- We were in Vermont recently and decided to tour the Amtrak station here. We enjoy touring the stations and showing you what to expect when you travel through the area! Dartmouth College is only five miles to the north in Hanover, New Hampshire.
White River Junction station is a passenger train station in White River Junction, Vermont, served by Amtrak's Vermonter. It is also used by the Green Mountain Railroad for passenger excursion trains to Thetford and the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich, VT. Originally, it was built in 1937 as a union station that served the Boston and Maine Railroad and Central Vermont Railway. On display adjacent to the station is a sheltered display of Boston and Maine Railroad #494, a historic steam locomotive.
In earlier decades more trains stopped in the station. The Boston & Maine's Ambassador Boston-Montreal train stopped there, as did the Connecticut Yankee in its years as a longer distance international train from New York City to Quebec City.

Looks like a nice station and we enjoyed seeing the "Vermonter" pulling in! It is cool they have the steam engine, coal car and caboose there to look at and read about on the info signs. This station was great to see! Thanks for bringing us along, Dan.

This one was smaller but so cool! Love exploring and sharing all of our stations. We try to find all the stations on road trips and while train traveling
