Making a Homemade Leaf Collector for My Cub Cadet XT41 Riding Mower

- In this video I attempt to make a leaf collector for my Cub Cadet XT41 riding mower for under $100 using a lawn trailer I was given for free.
If I tried to make this same contraption with all new parts the cost would be over $500. A bagger for this particular mower costs $350 which means I saved over $250 over buying a bagger. Of course, I could have just raked the yard for free, but that would not have been as much fun.
Thanks for watching!

Here is a tip for you. Your deck vents from the top where the blade shaft housings are located you can see venting holes. Keep those leaves off the top of the deck so you get good air flow. I use a leaf blower to clean my deck.
I did the same 2 years ago. Works good. Better than paying $1500 for a system. Thanks for sharing.
You're my kind of guy! I like it that you show work that's not quite perfect. I can so relate to that!
Great job, Cosmo! I enjoyed every minute of your video and even laughed at your jokes! I think it came out great with everything you had on hand to incorporate into your leaf collector! I was impressed with the outcome. Now you just need to look around your garage a little longer and find some paint for your little trailer. LOL!!! Thanks for sharing your project. I am looking forward to the next one!
Nice job, but here is a good idea for you. They sell a long bag for behind your mower and it hooks right up to the mower. As you drive around, it will pick up all your leaves and small twigs. Just search on line and you will find them. They even sell a strong plastic thing that will go under the bag to protect it from the road or driveway. For you having no real space to work in, I applaud you.
That's a really good job especially the plexiglass to see how full the trailer is getting you definitely gave me some great ideas when I build mine thanks for sharing your video
Glad you liked it! Good luck on your project. Thanks for watching!
Ive got most everything i need to build this but i plan on using a 3/1/2 by6 harbor freight trailer
Hope it works two issues one
The deck shute the other is will it pickup grass i mower lot
My grass grows fast an leafs lots of em why going bigger trailer
Awesome system What hose did you use?
I used a drier (dryer?) Vent hose, but it wasn't strong enough to handle twigs. I might look for an actual bagger hose to replace the duct taped mess I have now.
Jeez, he's cutting pegboard with a friggin saw and no mask, he's breathing all that dust is so he can get mesothelioma later in life, but he'll probably tetanus first judging by his footwear.
