Hilariously, the episode with 2 losses has way fewer misplays than usual
yeah, this seems to be the first really hard challenge.
Like, what if you fought sneezy? that would REALLY cause some potential problems.
@@skylerlarsen1866 It's one of the challenges with the most variance. NL's run was pretty decent but critically weak to freeze and it absolutely destroyed him.
I didn't find sneezy's gear too terrible when I got it, but I feel like I got lucky when I got good rolls and was able to get rid of both of the double 1 cards immediately. The actual sneeze ability makes a lot of cards really good though
the fight against super dryad was very bad
If he rather upgraded duplicate that he then copied he would have what to do with them on the fight against Snowman, so that misplay cost him this run.
Well in first 10 minutes he have much more misplays than usual

NL had the right idea, he just spent all his HP discarding on fights where he wasn't going to level up

Ends up stuck with two duplicates in hand against an opponent who freezes all his dice. Egg scrambled.

Copying the Duplicate was still a good play tbh... Maybe I would have copied the upgraded shock instead tho (and definitely not that shitty apple core)

Really curious to see how NL reacts to the later episodes. Starting from Episode 5 onwards they get really wacky and change the game up substantially IMO.
Actual kind of think this is one where NL deserved to win, that literal all one's roll got him good
Good plays this episode! However you should have prioritized upgrading duplicate. Jester runs usually give you a copy space and having a couple duplicate+ is just real good

Last night, I did the Finders Keepers challenge and picked the crowbar as my reward instead of the kunai. I was rewarded for my choice with the Rotten Core and four other countdown items. The sound of clicking was glorious.

I'm sure that title is just a preliminary one and is gonna get changed, but it's got me nervous this is the end of the series.
This isn't literally the end, but he did say on twitter earlier that the series is ending in roughly 2-3 weeks

@@AethrilCustom He's being overconfident, thinking that the latter half of episodes (18 episodes - which include elimination rounds) will only take 18 or so days. He's either going to have to cut the series short, or eat his own words.

The eggs ability to not read what the cards do is amazing.

for anyone who's wondering. Blind DOES have an effect on enemies. everyone ive watched just assumes it doesn't, so they don't even try.

@@Mwarrior1991 i cant remember what episode it was on but, i was against the marshmallow and i managed to blind both his dice. since the marshmallow only needs 1 even or 1 odd he should have been able to play at least one of his dice, but he passed his turn. i think that if an enemy's card requires a specific die the cant use it if there die is blinded.
@@steelgunsuit Either way, blind is one of the worst status effects to inflict
Blind isn't great, but the effect that it has on the AI is that they don't attempt to optimize blinded dice, so they simply put it in the first place it fits according to their priority list rather than putting the "best" dice in those slots. It can save you a little damage or a status effect, but it is marginal in overall effectiveness
@@DForSpiD so... kind of like when player gets blinded? It sucks to not optimize dice but in general you trial and error until you play most/all of your dice and sometimes nothing changes. I don't see why AI wouldn't have a similar result.

I'm actually kinda mad you keep getting rid of the Boops, when upgraded they give you a new die roll.
They don't reroll, they return the same dice. So they become free 2 damage, which is OK, but there are way better equipment to spend your upgrade on in this episode.
They also make it so you can actually do damage on turns when all your dice are frozen.

I had a spatula, sneeze+ (3 total) and just a lot of cards that needed only one dice
Locking dice is the most powerful effect and duplicate upgrade would’ve been waaaaay better

What is Lethal?
is it a special abillity?
Somthing you get after few turns or after you put some dices?
"Getting lethal" just means being in range of killing the enemy on a given turn - as in getting the opportunity to do lethal damage.
Does Rotten Core retain its counter between battles? Like, could you go into the boss with it at 1 and just instantly take off two thirds of their health?
No they don't retain between battle just turns.

Should've know the outcome when NL sounded like he was playing Slay the spire again. Rich decks AND perfect set ups always turn on a dime with NL. :)
This episode is also super rng dependent. If you have to face the wizard your deck's pretty much fucked.

What's so bad about Pirate Hook?
I don't think he understand what it does, at all.
Nothing. It is pretty standard if you don't have a 5, and really good if you have at least one
Does he use pirate hook wrong the entire run?
Yes and no. Pirate hook turns dice into damage pretty efficiently (esp. when you have 5s), but he's usually fishing for equipment that deals status effects on top of dice damage - which is not always a good idea with such a large deck.
So NL has been saying in previous videos that this game has been called out easy during this play through, and I can only hope that those people are speaking after playing the game themselves. It's strange how all these episodes, NL has made it seem like they were easy, but luck intrinsically has a role, as you can see from this episode. One bad roll at a critical moment can ruin your otherwise perfect run. I'll say the the first (except for the witch) and second set of episodes for each character were fairly easy to breeze through, but the warrior's lowered health, the robot's 50% chance of failure and the inventors constant breaking of equipment were challenging (and fun!) enough to make me, at least, need a few tries to pass. I don't know if it's NL weird intuition, good luck or just NLness that makes it seem like it's easy, but try the game for yourself and see if that's the case, 'cause it hasn't been the case for me.

SoR deserves more time than this game. Ive been watching this daily aswell as mario maker. To be honest its been so frustrating watching you play this game and miss clearly better plays (i know its easy to say because every mistake is captured i eternity). This series got alot of sympathy likes from me because you gave it your all and the SoR series had already put a smile on my face.
Why not duplicate the 1's to move the deck along? Enelle pls.

You dont have to fight every enemy NL...
But it's usually very bad tactic because you don't get full heal and health upgrade+new dice at the end since you will be missing stars. Unless you make run so strong that it doesn't matter, but if yes then leveling up still is better than passing.
Being bad for views is bad content.
Please end this sooner than 4 minutes if possible. It's time for a new series
