    I am doing this tonight to my 2020 Recon. I am adding an inline fuse so it's not a direct circuit to the battery. I think I am also going to change the placement of the button so I don't have to fight with screwing it into such a tight space. I think I might try putting in next to the Neutral light. Thanks for the video!

      How did the horn install go? What made you want to install an in-line fuse?

      It went great! I did a couple things a little differently than you did, but not drastically. I honest couldn’t have done it with out your video! I put an inline fuse in because me and Mud Squirrel (what I named my Recon) like to ride through a lot of water and mud so I didn’t want a direct current to the battery. The fuse will pop if such an event were to occur instead of potentially frying the electronics in my 4 wheeler through the battery. I was probably being overly cautious but it was only a few extra dollars. I wish there was a way for me to attach photos to show what I did during the installation and the finished product!

      @@jenniffermcc4232 I'm so glad the video helped even just one person (and Mud Squirrel, lmfaooooo)! I obviously didn't put a fuse in mine, but that & protective wrap for the wires are 2 things people have mentioned that I probably *should* have thought about before hand & did it for completeness sake.
      Yea, I wish you could attach pics but maybe make a YT video & send me the link! 😀 Happy Trails!

    I'd recommend a wire loom to protect the wires from rubbing as you ride and possibly shorting out your battery. Secure it with zip ties. Good job on doing things yourself!

    Now that you've been running it a while, have you found that you should have added a relay switch/box?

    • @jennabobenna3631
      @jennabobenna3631  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. For the price of everything, I could just replace it all for cheaper than dealing with a relay, not that they're expensive or time-consuming but just not practical for this particular instance.
      Sorry, I thought you were referring to an in-line fuse. A relay, though? Idk.

    • @edcollier2526
      @edcollier2526 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chet, why would you recommend a relay for this application?

    very good job, next time try using a BRAD POINT BIT drill bit on plastic, its not so aggressive when cutting, try it on a test piece B⁴.

    I'm putting a horn on mine can you tell me what gauge wire you used?

    • @jennabobenna3631
      @jennabobenna3631  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      12 Ga, but the wire was a little bit large for the button, so I'd go a size smaller (or get a different button)

    What screw did you use for the battery terminal it seems like the original screws that come with it can't hold much things down with the positive and negative wire

    • @jennabobenna3631
      @jennabobenna3631  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, just the original screws that came with the battery. May have shortened by 1 thread with the space that the electrical connector took up, but seemed secure.
