i promise my entire channel won't become "was (game) really that bad?" vids. when i find an older game i want to make a video about, i usually don't know what kind of video it'll be going in until i play the game for myself. it just felt like the right style of vid for recore!
ReCore is one of those games that could really use a sequel that improves on the fundamentals but will probably never get one But hey we got rage 2, a man can dream
Not 'bad'. But it launched in a rough state, got a lot of patches and fixes later though. MC was 63, but if it launched at the point AFTER the fixes, it would have gotten 70-76% imo.
I KNEW IT I KNEW I WASNT CRAZY I remember playing this in a friend's house years ago, I remembered it like a week ago but kept searching "core xbox exclusive" "core game 2017" "Xbox game with a dumbass robot and a girl" didn't expect to find it in my subscribed feed thanks lmao, great video
I've done both recore and its definitive edition and I really love it, I've seen the reviews but honestly I really like it, I loved all the characters and generally everything, I dunno why it's considered bad
The day after the definitive edition was released I walked into a GameStop. I was looking at the new release games and seen this one was up there. The employee said it was $30 and I'm like $30? I'll take a copy. I played that game non stop, but never finished it. Only never finished it due to a major bug where on one of the levels (even shown in this video) was the radiation would kick in, but. No enemies would spawn in. Tried updating, deleting, and restarting the game. Never was able to fix the issue or figure out what happened. Was interesting for what it was for sure
@@Tocy777isback0414 When the devs were finally able to update it to "Definitive Edition" it got much better... with a DLC that really kicked in my imaginative juices. Still had glitches, problems, and soft-locks, but I've done so many playthroughs... and was starting to stream it as well, that I stared using it as a "Blow of Steam" device (pardon the pun). Still love this game!!!
I was so excited for this game but the main problem I had was that the story was extremely shallow. There is barely any story at all honestly. It literally devolves into a collect-a-thon for getting those dumb orbs only to climb a Tron-esque pyramid to kill a big bad robot. And the inside of that pyramid made no sense story wise.
I don't think it was a bad game, just not really what people were hoping for. Most people probably expected a huge, story-driven and exploration-heavy game, and it really wasn't that, specifically in the story department. Still, I had a lot of fun with the gameplay. While the combat can be a bit repetitive, I think the got the 3D plattforming part right. Like you I had the most fun with the optional challenge dungeons. I NEVER do optional stuff in games where you try to optimize your score, yet here i always tried to squeeze out that top rank. These were challenging in a way where I'd get frustrated, but always immediately hit that restart button and felt good as hell when I finally did it.
I have played ReCore for a few hours and despite me being incapable of making a desicion, I can proudly and safely say that this game was Amazing and fun.
Just finished playing the definitive edition for the first time on Series X, and this game is awesome! There are still some technical issues, but the gameplay is so much fun once you start unlocking the different bots. Really enjoyed this one a lot and it reminded me of some older PS2-era games.
What I like is how instead of making another repetitive 3rd person camera behind the back shooter, this game looks more like an advanced 3rd person shooter with a variety of camera angles seen mostly back in the PlayStation 2 and PSP era; Last major shooter I can think of that looks like this game is 3rd Birthday which came out on PSP around 2012
I feel like if this game came out 10-20 years earlier it would've been one of those games you got from the bargain bin for ten bucks, expecting not much, but then being pleasently surprised by it.
This is the only XBOX One game I keep going back to after time passes. It's simple, but has a good story line. Plus the "collect all the prismatic cores" is a fun side hustle. I found 112, which I think is all there is per the map screens. It's also a beautiful game. The world is gorgeous. I agree that the final Eden Tower sequences doesn't make much sense in a story line kinda way. And the levels do load slow (but that's what TikTok is for!). I think I'll be going home today and starting a new game!
It wasn't terrible, wasn't great either, it sit comfortably somewhere in the middle. I didn't hate my time with the game but I also barely remember any part of it.
I recently tried playing the game myself, and I would say its...fine, maybe good-ish. I made it my goal to try and fill the Bestiary, but I struggle to find any and all CoreBots I have yet to encounter, and finding parts gets tough when all of them start being the tier I don't need. The Combat was nice, with the update adding new Alternative Charged Shots, It made some battles feel cool, but then again, it didn't excuse some fights from feeling like nothing but absolute Bullshit (Looking at the fights with the Dog Cultist and the fight with the Flier and Ape Cultists). I do plan on finishing it, and hope there's something afterwards that'll be worth my time
Honestly this was one of my favorite games last gen. I played it after it got the patches though. I wish it was more successful so we can get a sequel. The world and characters and the gameplay was really good and enjoyable in my opinion. I'd give it a 8/10.
Lately I been deciding do I wanna buy another PlayStation 4 (First one died after years of having it) or a Xbox Series S and let's just that Recore is one those games that has me 90% certain I'm getting an Xbox Series S I also like how Xbox has gotten way better with releasing and developing exclusives lately because we all know Xbox has had an exclusive drought since around 2008
Basically the entire system works like blueprints. Once you find the blueprints, you need the parts. Along with parts, you need the currency. You go around getting scrap parts from bots you destroy. After you get 3 of the same parts, you can choose to upgrade or sell. Just a repeat process to getting exactly what the blueprint calls for on upgrading your bots
This games fun and more different that a lot of games today. Also you for anyone interested you can dash off a platform double jump then dash again in the air.
I got a menu bug in the visual settings where they're not all available and some are covering up others and the first day I played it frame rate was fine. Running at 144 and today when I booted up it's stuck at 30 with no way to change it on PC
i played it back in 2016,didnt finish and now i found it on steam and finished it and now i feel like i job is done and that i dont need to relly do anything anymore
Well, I don't know how bad the critics said it was, so maybe they exaggerated... but I'm playing it now, and I am finding it to be just one big headache. The story is weirdly half-baked, there are a number of annoying elements (like, yes, the lack of a way to put map markers on collectables), and the combat feels not so much difficult as arbitrary. There IS some enjoyment to be had from it, but all in all, I just find it frustrating in how it's just good enough to draw you in but falls short of its promise once you're there.
This is actually a fairly good game if you just have some patience. I think all the bad talk just comes from everyone wanting a perfect game every time they play.
in Recore I like the character and fighting mechanics. I would like to get a game with Jewel in a open world game like Saints row. Have people to interact with. Have a map like the Saints row reboot. But bigger.
I just remembered seeing it a long while back on yt and thought “ooh that looks cool” now I have it and honestly it’s not bad I personally like it the shooting is personally my least favorite part of it but it’s mostly the fact I like fast combat like doom but I still love the puzzles tho it’s just fun and also you get robot dog so 8.5/10
I was in middle school when the trailer came out, I was so hyped. I got the game snd enjoyed it. I got the game back in 2016 since it reminded me of Nier.
I loved this game but i have to go back and finish it still. Destiny 2 took to much of my time and now that I'm done i can work on my back log starting with Recore
i think it was actually a very bad game...sure it's OK if you take a casual approach to it but then most games are OK when approached casually. The characters are bland, the story is for young children and is boring and cliche...the world design is bare bones and extremely empty. The combat is very repetitive. The late game is a huge grind. The upgrades are unattractive and make little to no difference. The buddy mechanic isn't helpful but slows progress and is used for padding. For people with little gaming experience this'll be fine but for people like me who have been playing games since 1986 I can confirm that after 25 hours of play time that this game is extremely boring and was an absolute chore to complete and has ZERO replay-ability after completion...and I only paid £5 for it!!!
I recently finished the game. It was fun and frustrating at times. I think this game definitely needs a second part. You can eliminate the criticism points and it would definitely be a hit.
lol I completed it I raged a bit but it deserves some recognition exploration is the key in this game there are some hard bosses and dungeons but who likes to explore this game is made for them
I never heard of it until last week and I got it on Steam deck. I am enjoying it I like it alot as a Comedown from some other more serious games I'm playing
i loved this game so fucking much game may be buggy and i mightve gotten softlocked but i loved this game i wish they had a dlc i hated that cliff hanger
Core eating mechanic? bruh Ghostwire Tokyo ripped that mechanic straight from this game???? That game was already an overpriced no-story piece of interactive art and it's even less original than I realised
This game had a lot of flaws, but I still enjoyed it regardless of those. It has a lot of potential and ground for a sequel, but i dont think MS will ever allow that.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great combat, great controls for platforming (but not hardcore platforming), and fun customizations. Loading sucked ass on launch but whatever. Video games are a waste a time anyway…. Just push the buttons during the load and pretend you are playing.
Just tried for about 2 hours and uninstalled the game on game pass pc. The game runs perfectly smooth and no bugs found. TPS part is pathetic. Platforming, parts collection feels like chore. Story not attractive at all. Probably expecting too much as I don't buy any Xbox, and wanted to try this game.
If Sony made this game it would of been successful, matter fact any other platform could make this game better than MS. I was so disappointed in this game but thats usually the mood with xbox games these days, theyre just cheapy looking games that are equivalent to smartphone games in the app store smh.
It was erm... Definitely a game.... I mean I guess it was pretty original? Pretty forgettable though, could have been more polished especially with those stuff animations in Combat... And there could have been more of an actual story? Felt like a Xbox 360 game than a Xbox One game.... In fact I can't remember the last time they had a really good exclusive? Quantum break.. ugh... Sunset overdrive was pretty decent? But not amazing, ReCore was painfully average... Crackdown 3? More like disappointmentdown 3 The only ACTUAL good exclusive Microsoft even has is sea of theifs, and that's mostly because it's still active with constant updates.... But keep in mind when it launched it wasn't that great. And MAYBE Microsoft flight simulator, but only if you have extremely strong internet.

I never finished the game sadly I did close to 100 in it doing all the side quests etc, but the main story last mission was bugged:(
This game was considered bad? I enjoyed it when I played it.

If the radiation kick in that mean you were in no man's land, basically means a dead zone

The radiation in the Eden tower is god damn awful.
