First of all...your hair looks absolutely stunning! The colour suits your skin so so much. What makes the original Gris Charnel successful to me is its delicate balance between fresh, woody, and spicy. The extrait version just leans too hard into the balmy and the dry cardamom for me and therefore seems unbalanced.

I have tried both, and I have to say, for me it is too hard to decide. Like choosing between 2 children…they are from the same family and have a lot of similarities, but each is also totally unique. The original in me comes across very sweet and almost cloying, but also sooo creamy and addictive. A real attractor if men. The extrait on me has no cloying sweetness, and is more masculine, but you get all the beautiful notes plus some new facets. This is the cuddle up by the fire frag for me, and yes, you still get some of that addictive creaminess. I guess I want both?!?! 🤷♀️

I finde the extrait more masculine, i like the original more for me and the extrait for my boyfriend. Both are stunning and i love them.
Great video! I have both, and have to say that I do prefer the original over the extrait simply because of the FULL composition. The dry down of the extrait is fantastic, but over all performance goes to the original. LOVE your channel!!!

I never liked the original Gris charnel since I don't like the note of fig in fragrances and that one on my skin smelled really intense of figs. I've sampled a couple of weeks ago the extrait version and I must say I enjoyed it more. The smell of fig is still there, but not so intense and it is much woodier, which I prefer. I also got some smokiness maybe from the black tea or vetiver, but it was overall a nice smell.

--- I just received the 2 samples that I bought from BDK. I immediately fell in love with the original Gris Charnel 🥲 It's such a beautiful fragrance, so warm & cozy, but not sugary, not a sweet, no vanity, and yet so warm. It's just amazing.
The extrait is powdery on me. It's a little more mature, almost vintage. Its like I've smelled it before. I prefer the original by far.

Well…. I ordered the BDK purse sample set of three, as one is Gris Charnel. I was ordering a FB after an hour of wearing it. Because of this review, I ordered the original. It was evening when I sprayed it and I just woke up and it’s still very present. 👍🏼♥️

I ADORE Gris Charnel so I will have to sample the extrait. I enjoy patchouli and hesitate with vanilla but hearing it is more lactonic makes it sound perfect for me.

Just got the Extrait. I loved the Original Gris when I went to Chicago in April but I decided since I love warmer tones the Extrait was the better way to go….I was not wrong at all lol

I am sooooo happy that I found your channel!! I have learned so much from your experiences and reviews. There is only one other youtuber that I can tolerate in regards to perfumes. That being said, because of you I bought travel size samples of both the original and extrait and am OBSESSED with the way both smell on my skin!! I also prefer the dry-down of the extrait but use both depending on my mood. Unfortunately, neither last as long on my skin as it does yours but I don't mind topping off *giggles. Once again, thank you so much for time and thoughts on these and other fragrances in general. Always a pleasure watching you!

Great for an ambient perfume, perfect for a luxury spa or hotel! Personally, I wouldn't want to smell like cardamom, black tea and fig.

I've only smelt the original & while I love that opening, the dry down reminds me of wet bandaid for some reason. Naturally, nobody want to smell like wet bandaids; so I thought I'd pass it to my gf or mom, and they both hated it. Had to ultimately sell it off.
I haven’t tried the original but I did get a sample of the extrait and I love the scent combined with the smokiness it has to it. It has some depth and should be perfect for fall and winter. Ordered from Harrods right away.

oh the extrait sounds great for a winter scent im looking for the perfect fall/winter scent i dont own any of these yet
Love your videos, and your love for gris charnel made me buy a sample. And I’m so glad I did! Your description as well as the one on the website sounded delectable . But I don’t know if it’s my skin or nose…I got a very very peppery spicy scent (not what I would call cardamom bc I associate that with a sweetness) with vétiver in the background (this part I liked). There was a strong woody scent I couldn’t identify That I found off putting (patchouli ?). But it is strong! Lasted 11 hours after I tried to wash it off in the shower. The dry down was more pleasant for me. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I’m afraid to spray it again 😅
Everything is labeled unisex nowadays but which do you think is more suited for a man? And then do you think the original is better for everyday use?

This is an extremely well-done video. I only have a sample of the original. I'll have to try it again. I think I would like it better than the extrait as I am not a fan of tonka and vanilla. (oooh...sacriilege!)

Mam,Please do a review on Gucci a winter melody.its a absolutely stunning fragrance.
Bought a bottle of the original for Christmas... and a decant of extrait when it came out. For me, a 10ml decant of extrait will last a long while. It's getting hot where I live but my plan is to layer or mix the two come fall. Love them both but don't need two big bottles. Now... if the extrait came in a smaller bottle🤔🤔🤔

Very different. Lune feline is super smoky and more vanilla dominant

I love the original. I have a sample of the extrait but I'm not keen to spend £250 when the original is £150 and they are similar enough. I'm not sure I see £100 worth of extra value for the extrait. Do you? Am I missing something?
I think if you’re already very happy with the original you don’t need the extrait

Difficult to say... GG is more mass appealing so easier to like vs Dior one is maybe a little more mature and creamier. Both are great

Since I hope the essence has black currant in it as people say the original alredy has. Love black currant.
