I much prefer the original. It’s just a perfectly balanced blend of everything. Just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. I’m a guy and I love wearing it.

EDP is slightly feminine and extrait is solidly masculine to me. I had a decant of the EDP and I gave it to my mom and thought it was great. I blind bought Extrait and the opening is a bit harsh.. the dry down is amazing though.
As a dude, I prefer the extrait. But more of a cooler weather scent

Agree with you Monika about that extrait one is more masculine but you are misleading here about the coconut note in it, my skin personally doesn’t work well with coconut at all, in any perfume but Gris Charnel is absolutely amazing because my body chemistry works well with sandalwood and fig thankfully

I have the original, and it goes very strong sweet on me, and lasts until you scrub it off. I love it, but I just ordered a sample of the extrait. BTW, I think what you are calling coconut, is actually the creaminess of the fig and sandalwood. They smell similar to coconut but there are differences.
yep, sandalwood smells in most fragrances like coconut to me because it's used for that purpose. After all, no-one is extracting essential oils from coconut 😂
Sandalwood does not smell like coconut in most compositions. Inferring this with your experience in the world of fragrances is somewhat disconcerting.

I just sniff bdk Gris charnel at Dept. Store today , I must think of Versace Crystal Noir edt. But when I first sniff versace crystal noir.. it was similar to Rituals Jing bodycare. Now I couldn't believe my nose anymore 😅

Extract way more masculine
To my nose, it has a slight resemblance to Fan your flames by Nishane, the only difference is that Fan your flames lasts longer and performs better
I heard that edp is like chai latte and was about to blind buy it first for myself - i'm a man. But this got me thinking.

I had a sample of
Gris Charnel delivered today and I can barely smell it. 😔 When I do get a slight smell of it, it smells gorgeous, but there's almost zero sillage. Does anyone else find that? Have ordered a sample of the extrait too; hopefully it's a stronger version of the original.
I also had a sample of Gris and I also had the same experience but in the bottle it’s actually much stronger for some reason

I’m a guy and I prefer the EDP on me, probably the only perfume I’ve tried that goes slightly powdery but juuuust enough so not to become too feminine

I have a sample of the original and the first note I smelled was a creamy coconut which I love. I know there is no coconut. Really enjoy it.
