My mom's must've been different because my brother's dad was the only one involved (one was dead and my pops was in prison) and he was the youngest. They broke up after 8 years and when he brought my brother McDonald's we didn't trip. My mom explained to us that he's not our dad and he shouldn't have to fill our dad's role when they aren't together. I understood that as a 11 year old and never gave my brother slack for it. It actually made me respect his father more for being a good father and not respect my own. People don't realize that kids might understand if you actually explain to them. If we had fights with my little brother it was because he was annoying (got on everybody's nerve on purpose) and not because his dad was a good father.
I'm convinced that doboy don't have nothing to do.

With the McDonald's thing, I kinda feel like I can see it from both sides. Like the kid's side and the adult's side.
I'm my mother's only child and my father remarried so I'm the also the oldest. From the kid's perspective at least for me. I remember one Christmas all my siblings had hella gifts but I only had maybe a couple gifts from father and stepmother. At the time, I understood why they had more (they had gifts from stepmothers side) but it still kinda hurt to open your two and they just still going in. Kids notice the differences.
But on the other hand, I don't like doing stuff (that's not my responsibility) for people who aren't grateful or just start to expect it. For her to call herself shaming him but not the ones over there not doing anything makes me feel like she wouldn't have appreciated the gesture and would have tried to put the responsibilities of those other men on him. It would have been nice of him too get for the others, but that's not his responsibility especially if they not together or if he didn't have some kind of bond with the other kids. All she can do is respect him for trying to be there for his.

I don’t think one kid getting McDonald’s and the others not is world-changing and I feel like it’s a life lesson for kids it’s OK for kids to learn life lessons that’s how they grow into responsible adults who can face adversity. It’s also the best way to teach your kids family planning through experience
