Rebuttal close was spot on!!! He did a fantastic job of pointing out COMMON SENSE.. Alex is guilty and so many people get hung up on motive, we’ll never know why he truly did it but we don’t need to know why to know he did it. Paul, thankfully, caught his own killer with the kennel video, it’s the one thing Alex couldn’t control and the one thing he didn’t know about. An innocent man does not lie about the last time he saw his family alive, a guilty man separating himself from the crime scene does that. Alex is a lawyer he knows that an innocent man would never lie to law enforcement in a murder investigation. He only admitted to being there cause he was caught not cause he forgot. And why would anyone come to a hunting lodge, loaded with weapons, unarmed to kill someone? It makes no sense! They were shot with family owned guns. How anyone can look at this evidence and not be convinced of his guilt is remarkable to me. We don’t need motive to know he killed his wife and son. Use common sense people.

John Meadors was very annoying when I first started watching this case. He was fidgety, touching witnesses and could not keep still. I thought he was nuts. But I’m not from the south. Today he single handedly won this case for the state. That was the best closing argument I have ever seen. He was one with the jury for one hour and was simply magnificent. He showed no charts and no timelines. He used very little notes. He just talked about common sense, real people and choices. He sealed the deal. Well done sir.

We have one attorney here in KS who does cases worldwide (Carl cornwell) and he doesn’t sugar coat and gets right to the facts as they are.... Mr Waters reminds me of him and he’s not one u wanna be cross examined by in a court room. Trust me. I have watched this trial from day one, as many of you may have as well. Mr. Meadors hit the ball out of the park. There is so much integrity in this court room. The prosecutors did a phenomenal job, but WOW Mr. Meadors - Good Job.

I wouldn't go that far; but he did connect with the jury and did a great closing. The prosecution clearly had the better lawyer: but to be fair to the defence, it's not easy to defend a very clearly guilty murdering compulsive liar.
This guy is so guilty he is incredibly guilty. He is actually a monster. If he didn’t do it and he was an attorney he should’ve been spending his every day since that murder to try to find out who did it who else was there any information. They found nothing nobody no tire tracks no cars no cell phone pings of other people in the area no strange people know dogs barking no chickens clucking at strangers. He did it.

Exactly! Reminds me of the Scott Peterson case from the mid-2000s. He is guilty as sin (just like Scott who killed his 8 month pregnant wife and unborn son) and showed no concern about looking for the killer(s). Lied, lied, lied to everyone. Alex needs to rot in prison for all that he has done.
Prosecutor John Meadors and his team is absolutely brilliant this trial should be showed in law school. I like his style, his professionalism and the way they presented this case to the jury. This is definitely one for the books.
@@Ecology0136 I noticed the pacing also but thought it was very effective. It seemed to help him organize his thoughts and maybe mesmerized the jury. It was punctuated by a lot of changes of pace verbally, i.e. raising or lowering his voice, and varying the delivery. Also his other body language, turning around, going back to the lectern, pointing, gesticulating, that little twiddling thing he does with his fingers. And we he turned that witness stand chair around you almost felt that Shelly was sitting in it.
@@Ecology0136 Sorry that you found the pacing back and forth distracting. I was too busy listening to every word he was saying, and I guess he put me in a trance of sorts. Of course the pacing could be distracting to many, but most of us have seen plenty of closing arguments by prosecutors, and the pacing seems to be there 90% of the time. I listened to his closing argument, rarely watch, so I’m guessing that helps me not to be distracted.
John Meadors was the one who brought the jurors to the verdict! He was absolutely astounding!!! I am disheartened that the Attorney General did not give him any credit and let him speak in front of the press conference after the trial ended. He deserved his 5 minutes of fame!!! Waters was very boring and redundant. Meadors brewed a sense of truth into his closing argument. I hope the press asks him for an individual interview tomorrow and in the days ahead. I am from South Africa, our justice system is based on Roman Dutch law and follows age Old English Court procedures. People in black robes, no shouting, animation etc I honestly thought this sort of behavior happened in Hollywood court dramas. Was fascinating to see. Reminded me of a Southern Baptist Church performance. Brilliant and had the audience, the jury, attention. He never really looked at his notes, absolutely an incredible and Oscar winning performance. 👏
This prosecutor gave me the story, backed up with evidence, that I craved from the beginning of this trial. Sir, whether the jury listens to you or turns away, I’m grateful that you were there to tell the story of a selfish man who did nothing but take from others his entire life. Your words have the ring of truth and the common sense of human nature. It is an ugly story, but justice is beautiful. Thank you, sir, for shining truth on the fate of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh.

Meadors provided a Masterclass in closing rebuttal. In under one hour he removed all doubt for the Jury. Layman's language from start to finish... it made the Verdict come as quickly as it did. a real credit to the legal community. Any young Law student should study this rebuttal. This is as good as it gets! Alex Murdaugh is a monster. He's very lucky it isn't a Capital punishment case.
You must of missed the weeks of questioning and strategic method of Creighton and the rest of the defense. They all played a crucial role. JM was the perfect closing to a well done prosecution!

John Meadors did an outstanding job on this closing rebuttal. He successfully drove home the point about AM not calling Buster right after the murders. There is no father or mother out there who wouldn't be calling their 1 surviving son to warn them unless they knew for sure there was no threat. This was a point that I was hoping would be made, so I was relieved to hear it. There were times during the trial that I though Meadors went over the top with theatrics but here, he's a master and he drives home every important point he needed to. Between this and Waters closing, they didn't miss a thing. Fantastic work, there can't be any other verdict buy guilty.
Yup that really was a great point. Just like after the murders he wasn't worried about him or buster cause he was the danger! Also the 20 seconds to calling 911 and it was obvious that if your wife and son are clearly long long gone and absolutely no help for them you would be kneeling over their bodies, crying, mourning and holding them. Not rolling up getting out and calling 911 essentially immediately. Then everything else was a obvious bad act. His crying, voice tone and "paw paw" stuff was utterly disgusting and offensive. It shows if you have money, and a certain level of looks - you can mesmerize the jury with crazy stories that make no sense. OJ walked because he had more expensive and experienced lawyers. Kaylee walked because they needed to prove intent - which they did not. In my mind she was a neglectful, selfish and callous mother but they did not prove to me that she intended for Caycee to die. She wanted to party and literally forgot her child in the trunk. As sad as that was - we don't judge carelessness the way we do a murderous intent to kill someone. If Alex did this - this was malicious, intentional and horrific. He is guilty - but I think the prosecution should have waited to find the clothes and the guns. That would be irrefutable. Right now it could go either way.

It can be a big scoop for you AFTER you fact-check, which should be easy enough if you have Becky Hill's book "Behind the Doors of Justice." It turns out not only Becky Hill and the jurors of the Alex Murdaugh case wanted "their 15 minutes" but they put their children, too, with them. In Becky "Boo" Hill's book page 191, you see a photo of Boo's daughter with this caption: Country music star, Dustin Lynch, and my "plus one" (daughter Aubrey) spent time together in NBC's The Today Show green room. TRANSLATION: At least Becky Hill AND HER DAUGHTER flew expense-free to New York with at least three jurors who voted guilty, each of which PRESUMABLY has a "plus one," too. So, at least 8 people had a luxury junket to New York paid for with the blood and tears of Paul, Maggie, and Alex Murdaugh. It gets even worse: At pages 59-60 of her book, Becky Hill writes: What I learned on our flight to New York City after the trial was that three close friends of his [meaning of a male juror who voted guilty] all chipped in and paid the financially strapped juror his regular salary. For all six weeks of the trial! Several thousand dollars. TRANSLATION: Thousands of dollars were being paid DIRECTLY from an outside source to a juror who voted guilty to enable him to stay on the jury. WHO ARE THOSE THREE CLOSE FRIENDS? Why was it important for them that THIS juror serve on the jury? Was that even their own money or were they funnelling it from an outside source? That is way, way, worse than anything Becky Hill admits to about her own misconduct.
One of the best comments on this case. How did he know when he needed to lie? It could have happened while he was visiting him mom so why lie about not being there before leaving? He cannot recall their last conversation, his clothes are missing, and he wanted others to lie about things. The timing of the hearing in boat case and request for financial information, and the revelation of his years of stealing. If I was on the jury, I would vote guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
This prosecutor was incredible... he brought it home for the prosecution. So happy that he was found guilty. Shocking that on evening polls 30 percent of people thought he was innocent and the jury got it wrong. Good for you Paul. You talked from the grave. Your two videos did him in. REST IN PEACE

I think that poll of 30% people thinking he was innocente comes from the fact that some people didn't quite grasp the complexity of the case, with some evidence coming in quite late during proceedings... rush judgment and emotions and the fact he is a master manipulator ( hence all the financial evidence crucial to determine and describe his character) can indeed make you think that he is innocent. However, law is reason free from passion. And the jury upheld that with a guilty verdict.
Wow. What a brilliant, masterfully delivered speech. The Columbo reference is genius! This is such a Columbo crime: the haughty liar, the video-tape reveal, etc. I can see that connection alone igniting the jurors' minds. I'm moved to hear Bubba is with Blanca❤Mr. Meadors gave voice to both victims, and bore witness to the grief of their loved ones. His description of Paul was especially touching--respectful, kind, smart, funny, even loving. Like a father should see his son. Like Colombo, he cut through the rhetoric, charm, and surface of a long trial. In paying homage to the salt-of-the-earth honesty of Blanca and Ms. Shellie, he called out AM's narcissistic presumption that he could intimidate those women simply because of their status in his home. He showed how AM doesn't see what matters: integrity, love, good work, the truth below the surfaces. Listening to this speech is like seeing the ground open up and out comes the passions underlying the trial and this sad story created by someone who turns out to be nothing more than an empty, useless, garden-variety narcissist, who just happened to be born into money.
Beautifully written!! This trial, that closing, the fact that the video was found not until early ‘22, were all very touching and moving. There will be books and movies! And what if he destroyed Paul’s phone or it never was retrieved?? I believe that this was divine intervention. You write beautifully!

I didn't listen at all to defense closing arguments...can you believe I was afraid? I had no faith in the jury and thought they would be easily swayed by a masterful defense closing, trying to spin the evidence Most of us will never forget the OJ verdict. Then I lost all hope with the Casey Anthony verdict. I'm elated that Alex was found guilty and the jury did it with circumstantial evidence and common sense. Meadors was absolutely the linch pin in this case. His argument is what everyone needed to hear and gave the jury the confidence to make their decision.
You didn't miss much by not listening to the defense closing arguments. I too didn't want to listen, but then I gave in and listened to the last third or so. Rambling, meandering, and reading from a prepared script, it was like Mr. Griffin didn't even believe what he was saying. However, in retrospect I do believe the case was lost as soon as his client took the stand.
I know it's tempting and more comfortable to listen to what confirms your bias, but I forced myself to listen to it all so I have solid understanding of the case in general. And clearly after listening to everything for the past weeks, I do think Alex Murdaugh is guilty. The jury got 100% right.

Update after 3hours or little over 3 hours the jury found him Guilty on All Charges !!! He was found Guilty of murdering his wife and murdering his Son !!!! He will Receive his Sentencing Friday !!!! He faces 30 years to Life in Prison!!! Thank You Lord for Justice for Maggie and Paul !!!! Jury used Common Sense!!! Nothing can bring them back but I'm so glad that justice has been Served !!! RIP Maggie and Paul !!!

This was an excellent rebuttal! I watched this video twice. I’m sure he had the jurors on the edge of their seats. This attorney brought it home! And thanks to Paul, “the little detective,” his dog kennel video exposed his ‘alleged’ murderer. AM thought he was so smart. This time he slipped up big time. I sincerely hope this jury does the right thing and return with a guilty verdict.

I was absolutely captivated watching this live. He took weeks and weeks of facts and wove it into a story for all of us. I had just watched the footage from the Moselle visit and it brought me to tears. When this closing was done, I knew deliberation would be short and they'd bring back a guilty verdict. I have never been so sure of something that I really had no way to know. After seeing the actual crime scene and imagining that warm quiet summer night and then listening to Mr. Meadors, I knew there was no other way this could go.
What’s funny about that is it was the defense teams idea to have the jury visit Moselle. They either thought it would have an opposite impact on the jury or they suggested it just to buy a few extra hours consulting/coaching Alex.
Indeed… in the beginning? I always had the inkling A.M was guilty … and I RACKED my head over and over just trying see why a person (I know the spoken about motive) could really kill their wife and son , and I just couldn’t fathom it … but I knew he did it , it’s been a weird one to battle . I know with the personality disorder I believe Alex to possess ? He will never fess up and tell the whole entire and truthful story . But I think the closest we will ever have to knowing this story ? Is what has been laid out to us by the iconic , prosecution team… They AMAZED me and I hope they all have a MASSIVE pay rise after this hard word 😂😅. This presentation gave me what my dad would be proud of...the plain simple truth! Why would the guy lying (AM) about everything important to this case be found innocent! The most telling part of this was Alex's body language during the whole rebuttal. 50 shades of red, death glares, fidgeting, nail biting, mouthing words to his lawyers. He was listening to every syllable while squirming in his chair. This would be huge if I was a juror.
You would react that way too if you were innocent. He was not innocent, but I sure would be scared to death if I was innocent...Thats why innocent people fail a lot of lie detector. Then there is innocent people being framed or on trial that show no mercy...well, I sure wouldn't be remorseful if I didn't do it. I worked as Behavorial Specialist...and there are a lot of things people think or jump to conclusions 'without ' hearing all of the evidence. I would frankly be scared to death if I was innocent and on trial, and some how knew somebody was on the Jury that thought like you.

This man (John Meadows) was SO impressive, it grabbed my heart, his entire presentation was amazing, and totally genius. I watched the video of it every day for 3 days. It totally cemented my understanding of what and how this all happened. I believe it also had a major impact on the jury and their relatively quick turn around. This man is a miracle. The whole prosecution team were invaluable, illuminating, all reaching elegantly but tirelessly for justice. It worked by God.

I followed this trial everyday until closing arguments began and entered the hospital for hip replacement surgery. I was undecided and leaning towards reasonable doubt. I did my best to catch up. I did not see this until tonight and now I understand how the jury came to such a quick and unanimous decision. This was absolutely excellent, driven and left me without a doubt. This gentleman , with his history in the area, and as he mentioned ,mentored and inspired by the defendants grandfather, clearly shows how much he cares about this case. The way he addresses the court jurors is honest and reveling. He knows justice ,the truth and voices it for the victim’s.
I am pretty impressed too. He knows how to connect with his jury to make them see just how ridiculous Alex's statements were in a way that you can imagine it playing out in your own life. I think that's key to closing statements, connecting the dots of the story with the juror.
Mr Meaders had a powerful voice for the victims Paul and Maggie! He was well prepared and talked clearly with voice inflection so people were listening and not sleeping! His thank you to the jury brought a lump in my throat!👏🏻

My thoughts are with Maggie’s family! I’ve watched every day of this trial and today was the first time I became Emotional and that was during this rebuttal. I had goosebumps. Paul and Maggie Rest In Peace.

Poor Bubba - he saw everything that night. And he knows the truth. And Paul caught his dad in a lie from beyond the grave. On the Snapchat - they seem so vibrant, alive and happy. Wow! I feel bad for his wife and son. They didn't know what hit them.
They did know though. Paul survived the first shot, and walked to the doorway, where he was shot the second time. Maggie ran toward the feed room when she heard the shots (remember we heard about her sandal footprints?). She would’ve seen her son lying there with the back of his head blown off, and then she turned and ran when he raised another gun. She saw the shooter. She ran from him, and he gunned her down, eventually.
John Meadors did an outstanding closing !!! The jury came to the correct verdict; God bless each of them. And the Judge deserves the Title *HONORABLE* ... the Courts need more like him. The whole team with the State did a great job, the investigators, and the witnesses. I am very happy this case is over and the Jury made the RIGHT DECISION !!!
Wow this southern lawyer sure beats beats the dull ones we have here in the UK. He gave that closing a lot of gusto I'm not used to seeing. I love the US. I can't really tell the way the jury will go but if the defendant is guilty im sure this jury will be able to determine that.

Rebuttal close was spot on!!! He did a fantastic job of pointing out COMMON SENSE.. Alex is guilty and so many people get hung up on motive, we’ll never know why he truly did it but we don’t need to know why to know he did it. Paul, thankfully, caught his own killer with the kennel video, it’s the one thing Alex couldn’t control and the one thing he didn’t know about. An innocent man does not lie about the last time he saw his family alive, a guilty man separating himself from the crime scene does that. Alex is a lawyer he knows that an innocent man would never lie to law enforcement in a murder investigation. He only admitted to being there cause he was caught not cause he forgot. And why would anyone come to a hunting lodge, loaded with weapons, unarmed to kill someone? It makes no sense! They were shot with family owned guns. How anyone can look at this evidence and not be convinced of his guilt is remarkable to me. We don’t need motive to know he killed his wife and son. Use common sense people.

John Meadors was very annoying when I first started watching this case. He was fidgety, touching witnesses and could not keep still. I thought he was nuts. But I’m not from the south. Today he single handedly won this case for the state. That was the best closing argument I have ever seen. He was one with the jury for one hour and was simply magnificent. He showed no charts and no timelines. He used very little notes. He just talked about common sense, real people and choices. He sealed the deal. Well done sir.

The prosecution clearly had the better lawyer: but to be fair to the defence, it's not easy to defend a very clearly guilty murdering compulsive liar.
This guy is so guilty he is incredibly guilty. He is actually a monster. If he didn’t do it and he was an attorney he should’ve been spending his every day since that murder to try to find out who did it who else was there any information. They found nothing nobody no tire tracks no cars no cell phone pings of other people in the area no strange people know dogs barking no chickens clucking at strangers. He did it.
Don’t forget the most damning evidence. Paul’s Video PROVING HE and ONLY HE was there moments before their murder then INSTANTLY LYING about it as soon as law enforcement got there.

@@Ecology0136 I noticed the pacing also but thought it was very effective. It seemed to help him organize his thoughts and maybe mesmerized the jury. It was punctuated by a lot of changes of pace verbally, i.e. raising or lowering his voice, and varying the delivery. Also his other body language, turning around, going back to the lectern, pointing, gesticulating, that little twiddling thing he does with his fingers. And we he turned that witness stand chair around you almost felt that Shelly was sitting in it.

@@Ecology0136 Sorry that you found the pacing back and forth distracting. I was too busy listening to every word he was saying, and I guess he put me in a trance of sorts. Of course the pacing could be distracting to many, but most of us have seen plenty of closing arguments by prosecutors, and the pacing seems to be there 90% of the time. I listened to his closing argument, rarely watch, so I’m guessing that helps me not to be distracted.

John Meadors was the one who brought the jurors to the verdict! He was absolutely astounding!!! I am disheartened that the Attorney General did not give him any credit and let him speak in front of the press conference after the trial ended. He deserved his 5 minutes of fame!!! Waters was very boring and redundant. Meadors brewed a sense of truth into his closing argument. I hope the press asks him for an individual interview tomorrow and in the days ahead. I am from South Africa, our justice system is based on Roman Dutch law and follows age Old English Court procedures. People in black robes, no shouting, animation etc I honestly thought this sort of behavior happened in Hollywood court dramas. Was fascinating to see. Reminded me of a Southern Baptist Church performance. Brilliant and had the audience, the jury, attention. He never really looked at his notes, absolutely an incredible and Oscar winning performance. 👏
This prosecutor gave me the story, backed up with evidence, that I craved from the beginning of this trial. Sir, whether the jury listens to you or turns away, I’m grateful that you were there to tell the story of a selfish man who did nothing but take from others his entire life. Your words have the ring of truth and the common sense of human nature. It is an ugly story, but justice is beautiful. Thank you, sir, for shining truth on the fate of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh.

Layman's language from start to finish... it made the Verdict come as quickly as it did. a real credit to the legal community. Any young Law student should study this rebuttal. This is as good as it gets! Alex Murdaugh is a monster. He's very lucky it isn't a Capital punishment case.

John Meadors did an outstanding job on this closing rebuttal. He successfully drove home the point about AM not calling Buster right after the murders. There is no father or mother out there who wouldn't be calling their 1 surviving son to warn them unless they knew for sure there was no threat. This was a point that I was hoping would be made, so I was relieved to hear it. There were times during the trial that I though Meadors went over the top with theatrics but here, he's a master and he drives home every important point he needed to. Between this and Waters closing, they didn't miss a thing. Fantastic work, there can't be any other verdict buy guilty.
Yup that really was a great point. Just like after the murders he wasn't worried about him or buster cause he was the danger! Also the 20 seconds to calling 911 and it was obvious that if your wife and son are clearly long long gone and absolutely no help for them you would be kneeling over their bodies, crying, mourning and holding them. Not rolling up getting out and calling 911 essentially immediately. Then everything else was a obvious bad act. His crying, voice tone and "paw paw" stuff was utterly disgusting and offensive. Glad he's gonna rot in prison. Gonna be even worse for a guy like him who has been rich and privileged his entire life. He will probably off himself soon

It shows if you have money, and a certain level of looks - you can mesmerize the jury with crazy stories that make no sense. OJ walked because he had more expensive and experienced lawyers. Kaylee walked because they needed to prove intent - which they did not. In my mind she was a neglectful, selfish and callous mother but they did not prove to me that she intended for Caycee to die. She wanted to party and literally forgot her child in the trunk. As sad as that was - we don't judge carelessness the way we do a murderous intent to kill someone. If Alex did this - this was malicious, intentional and horrific. He is guilty - but I think the prosecution should have waited to find the clothes and the guns. That would be irrefutable. Right now it could go either way.

It can be a big scoop for you AFTER you fact-check, which should be easy enough if you have Becky Hill's book "Behind the Doors of Justice." It turns out not only Becky Hill and the jurors of the Alex Murdaugh case wanted "their 15 minutes" but they put their children, too, with them.
In Becky "Boo" Hill's book page 191, you see a photo of Boo's daughter with this caption:
Country music star, Dustin Lynch, and my "plus one" (daughter Aubrey) spent time together in NBC's The Today Show green room.
TRANSLATION: At least Becky Hill AND HER DAUGHTER flew expense-free to New York with at least three jurors who voted guilty, each of which PRESUMABLY has a "plus one," too.
So, at least 8 people had a luxury junket to New York paid for with the blood and tears of Paul, Maggie, and Alex Murdaugh.

What I learned on our flight to New York City after the trial was that three close friends of his [meaning of a male juror who voted guilty] all chipped in and paid the financially strapped juror his regular salary. For all six weeks of the trial! Several thousand dollars.
TRANSLATION: Thousands of dollars were being paid DIRECTLY from an outside source to a juror who voted guilty to enable him to stay on the jury.
WHO ARE THOSE THREE CLOSE FRIENDS? Why was it important for them that THIS juror serve on the jury? Was that even their own money or were they funnelling it from an outside source?
That is way, way, worse than anything Becky Hill admits to about her own misconduct.

He lied about what time he was at the kennels, but how does he know what time he has to lie about if he had nothing to do with it?
One of the best comments on this case. How did he know when he needed to lie? It could have happened while he was visiting him mom so why lie about not being there before leaving? He cannot recall their last conversation, his clothes are missing, and he wanted others to lie about things. The timing of the hearing in boat case and request for financial information, and the revelation of his years of stealing. If I was on the jury, I would vote guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I think that poll of 30% people thinking he was innocente comes from the fact that some people didn't quite grasp the complexity of the case, with some evidence coming in quite late during proceedings... rush judgment and emotions and the fact he is a master manipulator ( hence all the financial evidence crucial to determine and describe his character) can indeed make you think that he is innocent. However, law is reason free from passion. And the jury upheld that with a guilty verdict.

This is such a Columbo crime: the haughty liar, the video-tape reveal, etc. I can see that connection alone igniting the jurors' minds. I'm moved to hear Bubba is with Blanca❤Mr. Meadors gave voice to both victims, and bore witness to the grief of their loved ones. His description of Paul was especially touching--respectful, kind, smart, funny, even loving. Like a father should see his son. Like Colombo, he cut through the rhetoric, charm, and surface of a long trial. In paying homage to the salt-of-the-earth honesty of Blanca and Ms. Shellie, he called out AM's narcissistic presumption that he could intimidate those women simply because of their status in his home. He showed how AM doesn't see what matters: integrity, love, good work, the truth below the surfaces. Listening to this speech is like seeing the ground open up and out comes the passions underlying the trial and this sad story created by someone who turns out to be nothing more than an empty, useless, garden-variety narcissist, who just happened to be born into money.

I didn't listen at all to defense closing arguments...can you believe I was afraid? I had no faith in the jury and thought they would be easily swayed by a masterful defense closing, trying to spin the evidence
Most of us will never forget the OJ verdict. Then I lost all hope with the Casey Anthony verdict.
I'm elated that Alex was found guilty and the jury did it with circumstantial evidence and common sense.
Meadors was absolutely the linch pin in this case. His argument is what everyone needed to hear and gave the jury the confidence to make their decision.
You didn't miss much by not listening to the defense closing arguments. I too didn't want to listen, but then I gave in and listened to the last third or so. Rambling, meandering, and reading from a prepared script, it was like Mr. Griffin didn't even believe what he was saying.
However, in retrospect I do believe the case was lost as soon as his client took the stand.

I know it's tempting and more comfortable to listen to what confirms your bias, but I forced myself to listen to it all so I have solid understanding of the case in general. And clearly after listening to everything for the past weeks, I do think Alex Murdaugh is guilty. The jury got 100% right.

Having been on a jury, it was so nice that we were thanked for doing something that was our duty as citizens. No one had to thank us, but they did.

This was an excellent rebuttal! I watched this video twice. I’m sure he had the jurors on the edge of their seats. This attorney brought it home! And thanks to Paul, “the little detective,” his dog kennel video exposed his ‘alleged’ murderer. AM thought he was so smart. This time he slipped up big time. I sincerely hope this jury does the right thing and return with a guilty verdict.

I was absolutely captivated watching this live. He took weeks and weeks of facts and wove it into a story for all of us. I had just watched the footage from the Moselle visit and it brought me to tears. When this closing was done, I knew deliberation would be short and they'd bring back a guilty verdict. I have never been so sure of something that I really had no way to know. After seeing the actual crime scene and imagining that warm quiet summer night and then listening to Mr. Meadors, I knew there was no other way this could go.
The crime scene sealed the case.
What’s funny about that is it was the defense teams idea to have the jury visit Moselle. They either thought it would have an opposite impact on the jury or they suggested it just to buy a few extra hours consulting/coaching Alex.
It was a Hail Mary, primarily designed to buy more precious time. The defense knew he was guilty.
Indeed… in the beginning? I always had the inkling A.M was guilty … and I RACKED my head over and over just trying see why a person (I know the spoken about motive) could really kill their wife and son , and I just couldn’t fathom it … but I knew he did it , it’s been a weird one to battle . I know with the personality disorder I believe Alex to possess ? He will never fess up and tell the whole entire and truthful story .
But I think the closest we will ever have to knowing this story ? Is what has been laid out to us by the iconic , prosecution team… They AMAZED me and I hope they all have a MASSIVE pay rise after this hard word 😂😅.

The most telling part of this was Alex's body language during the whole rebuttal. 50 shades of red, death glares, fidgeting, nail biting, mouthing words to his lawyers. He was listening to every syllable while squirming in his chair. This would be huge if I was a juror.

Then there is innocent people being framed or on trial that show no mercy...well, I sure wouldn't be remorseful if I didn't do it. I worked as Behavorial Specialist...and there are a lot of things people think or jump to conclusions 'without ' hearing all of the evidence. I would frankly be scared to death if I was innocent and on trial, and some how knew somebody was on the Jury that thought like you.

This man (John Meadows) was SO impressive, it grabbed my heart, his entire presentation was amazing, and totally genius. I watched the video of it every day for 3 days. It totally cemented my understanding of what and how this all happened. I believe it also had a major impact on the jury and their relatively quick turn around. This man is a miracle. The whole prosecution team were invaluable, illuminating, all reaching elegantly but tirelessly for justice. It worked by God.

I followed this trial everyday until closing arguments began and entered the hospital for hip replacement surgery. I was undecided and leaning towards reasonable doubt. I did my best to catch up. I did not see this until tonight and now I understand how the jury came to such a quick and unanimous decision. This was absolutely excellent, driven and left me without a doubt. I am pretty impressed too. He knows how to connect with his jury to make them see just how ridiculous Alex's statements were in a way that you can imagine it playing out in your own life. I think that's key to closing statements, connecting the dots of the story with the juror.

Poor Bubba - he saw everything that night. And he knows the truth. And Paul caught his dad in a lie from beyond the grave. On the Snapchat - they seem so vibrant, alive and happy. Wow! I feel bad for his wife and son. They didn't know what hit them.
It all happened so fast..from what I heard in testimony..Its so hard to believe a man could do this to his family.
They did know though. Paul survived the first shot, and walked to the doorway, where he was shot the second time.
Maggie ran toward the feed room when she heard the shots (remember we heard about her sandal footprints?). She would’ve seen her son lying there with the back of his head blown off, and then she turned and ran when he raised another gun. She saw the shooter. She ran from him, and he gunned her down, eventually.
