I think ppl like mea simply because they can relate on a somewhat personal/philosophical level compared to other vtubers. Fans sometimes want bluntness, and mea is one of the rare breed of exceptionally blunt vtubers.
She definitely is relatable in that aspect, and even though she shittalk a lot of her viewers she is constantly engaging with them, so she definitely is closer to get fans than most vtubers. The gaming stream comments holds some truth, it is just told in a way that can easily get her flamed.

Maybe somebody like Mirai Akari, she kinda appears like a "prom queen" type of person, but most of them are (or at least portray) girls who would have been quiet nerds at school. Basically shes like a normal western streamer with all the raw quirks that make up personality, and able to have a back and forth with the audience by both insulting and being insulted.

Actually Mea didn't change but rather evolved when she introduced herself as if she's like an female admiral due to her uniformed avatar... she didn't just stayed like that to be a unique hypocrite Vtuber but us (her fans) will still like her, she had countless of haters, yes she is angry and she couldn't ignore them but we like it due to how she express it off, we cannot just explain it why, we just like her that way thus we can also relate to her in some way or another. She disses, she throws words, piss off some people- but also she and her fans rather coexist with that and content with it. For those who doesnt understand her will just hate her more and those who took interest will slowly becoming her fan. That's all.

Late as heck to comment on this, but I just really wanna say that our relationship with Mea as viewers is in level that transcends the usual understanding of what an audience is to their respective idol. To put it simply, the reason why were so freaking cruel is that she exposed herself to be someone that doesn't really know how to keep information to herself (Like seriously, she has no shame in exposing her bad habits and even past personal events like her exes lmao) so she ended up forming weird, kinda like sisterly, bond with her viewers. Cause if any of you have siblings then you'll understand that we all poke fun at each other all the time cause you can tease them without any major repercussions and they'll most likely just tease you back if you're not careful with what info you'll end up sharing lol. In short, we treat her as a not-so-respectable older sister and she treats us like her annoying brothers and sisters. She might talk badly about us but I'm sure deep inside she'll hate it if we just suddenly started being nice, that's just how things ended up now lmao.

Well your logic and beliefs can change based on those around you. If you hear an idea repeatedly it can lead you into believing it as truth. That is kind of what they meant by logic harassment.
The original stream is meant for the two of them to talk shit to each other, so the flaming background is meant for anger and a chance their friendship might end.
