Abe is a little incompetent, but he has an air of straight-forwardness which they like. Japan is really hard to immigrate into. You either need to be employed for highly skilled labor, or marry in. Russia's economy isn't that great, but they need skilled labor which means you could live a pretty comfortable life there if you plan it out well. Russia actually is one of the easier countries to fly to Japan from as Russia is a common stopover for flights from the EU to Japan. In contrast if you live in Canada or the US the costs can really run up to double or more. Exception of the promotional seasons, but Russia also benefits from them.

@Juan Ángel Moreno Cárdenas Before Abe came along there was a string of scandals where a bunch of people from various parties had to resign. The problem is that Japan basically only has a bunch of left wing parties (since the US wanted Japan to avoid militaristic and patriotic behavior), so no one wants to remove Abe in fear of someone worse getting into office. Abe is a little incompetent, but he has an air of straight-forwardness which they like.
Japan is really hard to immigrate into. You either need to be employed for highly skilled labor, or marry in. If you can qualify for Japanese immigration, I would jump for America, Canada, or even Russia instead. Russia's economy isn't that great, but they need skilled labor which means you could live a pretty comfortable life there if you plan it out well. It isn't too far from Japan either if you want to be close to the land of waifus. Also not all of Russia is cold so if you like warmer temperatures it is reasonable.

The countries I listed were those that are looking for skilled workers and are consequentially easier to immigrate into than Japan which is very restrictive. Most of the asian countries around Japan are not ones I would suggest people to immigrate into. A lot of them of them are easily worse than Mexico.
Russia actually is one of the easier countries to fly to Japan from as Russia is a common stopover for flights from the EU to Japan. In contrast if you live in Canada or the US the costs can really run up to double or more. Exception of the promotional seasons, but Russia also benefits from them.
