Nice video. However I found they also sell Energizer Arc5. They do look like they the do have stock too. I live in Canada, and we have far fewer options to buy without crazy import fees and they actually have these in local hardware stores.
Great video! You mentioned because it supports pass through it could be left plugged in and act as a mini ups. Would doing that with a modem and router degrade the overall life of the unit any more so than normal use?
Can you charge it with 2 or even 3 ways at the same time example if you had solar panel on your camper roof could you charge it with that and your cigarette lighter plug and also charge it by the USB C at the same time
Hobo. I have a connection installed for a solar panel to charge my 1 house battery. It's on the side of my RV. What best solar panel 100 or 200 should I use to connect to. Portable bot on the roof. I will basically bring it out and hook it up while camped. Thanks.
During your solar panel charging simulation @13:16 the current stays pretty much at 2.1A. I wonder if it is possible to pair this with a 12V 180W solar panel (VoC 19.8V) that can pump 11.2A to be used only during the gloomy overcast days. I am using a 12V 100W flexible panel which works great under sunny skies but performs very badly when clouds come... Would too much Amps kill this unit?
Question so in order to run a refrigerator with the 5 minute turn off feature you have to plug something else then that is drawing power to keep the machine on. Is this correct?
Great content! What happens if room temp. falls below 32° while unit is not being used, then unit is needed? Does battery automatically shutdown to protect itself?
@@HOBOTECH on Amazon it showed the normal(crossed out) price as 360, the current price WAS much lower but the 360 nearly knocked me out of my chair😝 i hope there is still a good price when I get my next SSD deposit in early November
it's bigger but the battery is regular lithium ion not a lithium iron phosphate so charge cycles are 500 to reach 80% capacity as opposed to 2000 cycles for this model, also you need to recharge it every three months and this one holds charge for a year. The choice depends on whether you want more power or longevity.
I was so excited to order one of these. After waiting through two delivery delays the unit arrived with two bars of charge on the charging icon. I plugged it in and fully charged it. I let it sit with no load and the battery discharged one bar every 24 hours. When it discharged down to one bar I fully charged it again with the same discharge results. My hope for a ten year battery didn't last ten days. Waiting now on a refund. Hope others don't experience what I have. Caveat emptor.
HOBOTECH- Great Review. How much does the Energizer 240 discharge when not being used? I have read some reviews on Amazon that reported as little as 3 days for holding the charge, and others with similar shorter than a month before a fully charged unit discharges completely when not in use. What was your experience with this unit? Any self discharge....how much did you lose per month?
Worth noting that the actual manufacture is Bestek from China, they bought the license to use Energizer name. Bestek has many product on Amazon so they are not new in the electronic power market.
What would be the best way to add a DIY after-market “display” to measure all those important stats? Especially %charge left and incoming watts? Thank you!
Just purchased one based on your review- thank you! Quick question... can this be charged with the PD and the AC/solar input for faster charge times? Just wondering if you tested that since it has two inputs for charging. Thanks in advance!
Qusetion, you say that there is no point to add more solar panels since it can only handle 55 watts or so. But is also has passthrough right? Could I put a 200 watt panel and charge the devices battery at 55 watts and run other things from the outputs? Like charging other batteries that can't plug into the panel itself?
Thanks. At current price of $269 on Amazon, price per watt-hour $269/240 (1.12) not a good value. Prime Day sale had it at $229 which I missed which was more reasonable. Still an excellent review. Just purchased an SetPower AJ50 (53 quart) 12V fridge for $271 during Prime Days. Very high Amazon review ratings and #3 top seller which might be worthy of a review.
Great video. Question, I have a couple of these and both giving the same errors. Fully charged yet when i plug a device into them, AC turned on, it charges fora second or two and then starts beeping, stops charging. Energizer customer service is awful, unable to contact them. Any ideas? Is there a reset on these units? Thank you
Soooo glad I put in my order right after getting your seal of approval on this item because the Hobotech effect is in effect and none are available now! Thank you! I wonder if you could clarify if this is an actual product made by Energizer or like someone mentioned in the comments that Bestek licensed the energizer name to use on this product?
@3mitty biggest complaint is the slow charging speed & the pass-through charging sucks (it seems to pass power through but won’t charge the battery at the same time). Other issue is the auto off feature that can’t be deactivated, sometimes my 12v fridge doesn’t consume enough power between cycles to keep the pack on, so the pack turns off & so does my fridge...
Hi my English is not very well, but I have some questions, when you say 2000 life cycles, which is exactly, you can discharge 100 to 0?, what is the optimal percentage of charging and discharging for best battery life, thanks so much for answer my question.

Operating temps are mentioned in the video. It works below freezing.
I thought the Beaudenn was my favorite but other than price(regular Amazon $360) this thing is AWESOME
$360? This is under $250 with my discount.
@@HOBOTECH on Amazon it showed the normal(crossed out) price as 360, the current price WAS much lower but the 360 nearly knocked me out of my chair😝 i hope there is still a good price when I get my next SSD deposit in early November
I'm waiting for Amazon to process my order in this. My wish list is to get a bouge RV 180 panel. This way if I ever get a larger sogen I'll be set.
Thank you! What about the Energizer Arc5 which is 500w? Is it the same and bigger??!!! Fingers crossed
it's bigger but the battery is regular lithium ion not a lithium iron phosphate so charge cycles are 500 to reach 80% capacity as opposed to 2000 cycles for this model, also you need to recharge it every three months and this one holds charge for a year. The choice depends on whether you want more power or longevity.
@@solovoypasando thanks
@@solovoypasando thank you!!
Oh, whatever an I going to get?!! I need bigger but want better, too
Different. I don't think it is for sale anymore. It is not on the website.
When did you buy it?
HOBOTECH- Great Review. How much does the Energizer 240 discharge when not being used? I have read some reviews on Amazon that reported as little as 3 days for holding the charge, and others with similar shorter than a month before a fully charged unit discharges completely when not in use. What was your experience with this unit? Any self discharge....how much did you lose per month?
Worth noting that the actual manufacture is Bestek from China, they bought the license to use Energizer name. Bestek has many product on Amazon so they are not new in the electronic power market.
I would like to have the energizer that I could use to plug my Midland micro mobile two way radio.
Nicely done my friend. Those who think it should be the same price as a Jackery 240, the LiFePO4 batteries are far more expensive.
Iron Phosphate is inherently less expensive
Isn't the Energizer the same unit as the Beauden's portable power station you reviewed?
This is different in size and specs.
The "fire retardant plastic" holds the flames and destruction INSIDE the case..!! LOL! As always a knowledgeable, thorough and concise review..
I was being facetious.
@@HOBOTECH You are excused as it was I who included flames "inside" the case... LOL! Nice south-west weather we are having...
What would be the best way to add a DIY after-market “display” to measure all those important stats? Especially %charge left and incoming watts? Thank you!
Hello can you please add the link where I can get the 12 volt adapter for this power bank, thanks.
How does it compare to the
ROCKPALS 250W Portable Power Station ?
That's like comparing McDonald's with Denny's. There is no comparison.
So which one s better lol im not as smart as you about these devices ha ha
@@lastname1386 the energizer is the better one
What would you say the max operating ambient temperature could be. ?
Thanks
Just purchased one based on your review- thank you! Quick question... can this be charged with the PD and the AC/solar input for faster charge times? Just wondering if you tested that since it has two inputs for charging. Thanks in advance!
No.
Would love to see a review of the Arc3! 300 watts, LiFePO4 battery and a great display. Cannot find a review anywhere.
That's pretty reasonable price for a portable fridge.
Let us know how it works out.
I want to get one for power outage to store frozen food.
It's $242 with my discount code.
Hi..is this the same specs as the Energizer 300 watt?
For mature viewers only, is the leather fine Corinthian leather?
Great review, as always!
Love your work. What is your favourite solar generator? I don't have one yet but I am thinking of getting one.
AC200
Great video. Question, I have a couple of these and both giving the same errors. Fully charged yet when i plug a device into them, AC turned on, it charges fora second or two and then starts beeping, stops charging. Energizer customer service is awful, unable to contact them. Any ideas? Is there a reset on these units? Thank you
Can I power the ICECOJP50 and how long it will last?
Watch my JP40 video for that answer.
OMG! You two are hilarious. 🤣 😂 Glad you left it in. Too bad Billy couldn't keep it in.
Does it have a BMS so that it turns off when charge is complete?
It would explode otherwise.

Are the 5.5mm 12v plugs 2.5mm or 2.1mm? I’m trying to find adaptors before I buy one
@3mitty yes, they are the 5.5x2.1
But while this pack is cheap & has functioned well, I recommend the Bluetti EB70. It’s much more bang for your buck.
I like the idea of using this as a UPS.
