Not a cover. The Beatles first became famous in Germany and released both "She Loves You" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" in German

Bowie's "Heroes" at the end of the film was also released in German (was done around the time he was living between West Berlin and Switzerland).

Of course, that was decades after world war 2, and this movie utilized the Beatles song as a way to communicate how rockstar-like the whole nazi thing must have been to many back then, that is, before rock n' roll was even a thing.

And the entire purpose of using the song along with footage of Hitler rallies was to show how popular he was at the time, comparing it to Beatlemania.

woahhh, i've never seen someone guess the foreshadowing of the shoes and the hanging; that's so amazing to see.

Word! Somebody get her a scholarship for Harvard or MIT!
It's a shame though, the surprised punch in the gut will not feel as surprising. When I watched it I didn't even entertain the idea that it would happen. Sometimes intelligence is a curse...

This young woman is amazing to figure out the foreshadowing with the shoes!

Also the comments on color grading at the beginning versus the end. It starts very bright and colorful, from a child’s perspective, and as JoJo learns more about how much he’s been lied to, the color grading changes. Also, his imaginary friend Hitler slowly starts to act more like the real Hitler, (the fanatical speeches, and such.)

I think Cpt. K already knew what had happened to Rosie and raced to her home to protect Jojo. I think it was her bike he was carrying.

    • @HRacer52
      @HRacer52 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

It wasn't her bike, but he definitely knew what happened and got over there as fast as he could. Her bike had a female center beam, his was a male bike.

why does everyone always keep saying it was Rosie's bike in these commnent sections? It *very obviously* is not.

The tall Gestapo man was Stephen Merchant who co-created ‘The Office’ with Ricky Gervais. He was also the Albino Mutant Calibran in the Movie ‘Logan’

The humor of this film is perfect and measured with the drama, I also thought that the references to shoes pointed to something tragic but you are not prepared for the punch, congratulations, excellent reaction.

You are right. This was war from a child's perspective, a child who has been indoctrinated by the Nazis, hence the child-like humor and his innocent view of what was happening at the beginning. Incredibly, the boy playing JoJo had only acted in school plays before this!

Another WW2 movie recommendation that has a child actor as the principal:
"Empire of the Sun" - directed by Steve Spielberg

Hey guys, since you mentioned Sam Rockwell and how good he did, obviously he did great in The Green Mile, but a fun movie he was in happened to be Mr. Right, an action/rom-com. I think you guys would really like that movie, if you haven't seen it already. Once again, keep up the great reactions.

Have you seen Moon? He 100% deserved an Oscar for that performance. I could wax poetic about his performance and the movie in general, but I'm worried I'd spoil something.

You guys are really sharp. You picked up on so much. I absolutely love this movie. Taika Waititi brings you along on Jojo's journey from being completely indoctrinated to completely disillusioned. He makes your feelings mirror Jojo's so far as everything being bright and rosy to being dark and hopeless. It's a visceral experience. What a rollercoaster.

I think this might have been the first time I watched scenes from this movie and realized the clones are probably clones of Hitler himself. :D I think I've heard of theories that this sort of thing was being experimented with by the nazis. I'm not sure how true it is, but it's a good gag either way.

Hey guys, I really enjoyed your reaction to Jojo Rabbit. I love this movie. You must check out Only The Brave with Miles Teller and Josh Brolin. It's a GREAT movie that all the reactors overlook. I promise you, you will love Only The Brave. Keep up the great reactions and I'll have to check out some of your other reactions.
