we used one of these machines inside a 3 million square feet building
This machine is wonderful when u can’t use fans and offices are nearby and doing renovations. You can’t use diesels or even LP vehicles inside most buildings now

You should make an extended/extensible exhaust system with a fume extractor instead to get fumes out of the building.

I think everyone is missing the point of this machine. It is meant for congested or highly sensitive areas where emissions aren’t allowed such as inside furnaces, refractory areas etc. we have used this type of unit for years tearing out glass units etc where a big unit won’t fit and it’s all inclosed so emissions are a no no. To some it may look expensive or not needed but specialty companies rely on this type of equipment to not only get projects but to keep their crews safe as well

This is really smart it’s small enough to get inside a building so like what if they got to move something extremely heavy inside a building and need a machine. This will work great no emissions when inside the building and small enough to go through a door. I think they should of made it where you can just hook it up with the generator attached to the machine for better mobility
No, we get it - but that is such a dumb way to go about it, that I am seriously embarrassed for CAT as a company. ( I mean, a fucking exhaust hose run out the door would cost 1/10,000th the time, effort, and money!)
And most of the time a few guys with sledge hammers could get it!
@@goldrushpro Why are you triggered by this? If you dont like it, dont buy it. Cat saw a need, and builds a machine to fill that need. Stick to your sledge if that floats your boat, but to others, time is money. To each their own.....
Special tool requirements, pins,hoses,different fuels and different power plants what a great combination for success lol 😂

Clever. I like how they multi purpose. The lifting bar becomes the hose guide. Providing power to the HPU is really the only negative I can think of. All those other reasons the geniuses down below me is because they will try to nay say it just to try and make themselves sound like they know what the hell they're talking about. This is a great idea well executed.

This obviously isnt a machine you take into the mud. Meant for interior demo, and dirt moving.

Looks like it's more trouble than its worth. At this size I'd run with a Brokk 150
I get they are going for the zero emissions feature which would be real nice INSIDE a factory where a thick floor needs to be hammered out. Why didn't they install the electric motor ON the Mini Ex? Use the on board hydraulics, just clutch the drive systems together. Just run 220V via the same cable used for the VPS but to the Mini Ex.
I agree with Doug Moore, setup seems a bit timely with many parts to get lost on a job site. You would have a true "hybrid" if the Electric motor was built in. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well you would never have a 480v panel to connect to in immediate work area
Why the music
It really needs a better hose management system- as shown, those hoses will be all twisted up as soon as the machine moves away from the power supply. And, FWIW, I believe Takeuchi has come out with a battery powered mini.

We made an electric excavator but it needs a diesel motor for the hydros to run epic
Engineers in suits.... Work with them everyday and have to chase them out of the office to do site surveys regularly.

It fits well (depending on whose eye looks it..) to work inside a factory, but I think this set up would fit better for civil purposes.. by the way, factories usually have bigger doors to allow bigger machines, and houses don't have the 380V plant...
I thought it was a diesel powered remote hydraulic unit for outdoors...but this is good too.
Doesn't JCB have a full electric excavator in this class with an on-board battery? Perhaps it's too big to fit through doors.

Hi! HPU stands for Hydraulic Power Unit - which is an electrically driven pump with separate hydraulic tank. The HPU requires a 3 phase, 480 V power supply which can be either from a wall mounted socket on site or from a portable generator. When the HPU is utilized, the 300.9D VPS machine can be operated without the diesel engine running, thus providing a clean and quite indoor solution.

Hi! The 300.9D is a key model and provides the right solution in the tightest of spaces. There are no plans to discontinue at this time.
Its the HPU300. I believe its a mobile Hydraulic pressure booster for axillary attachments like the jackhammer tool. basically the mini-ex doesn't have the necessary hydraulic flow and pressure to operate the hammer alone, so the HPU300 does that for it when hooked up.
The HPU supplies all the hydraulic power to the mini-ex, not just for the work tools. The idea is that you dont have to have any engines running indoors to power the machine, just 3-phase 480VAC, which can be supplied by a generator outside, or just a wall outlet if the building is equipped with it.

Matt Seymour nope the HPU is an electrically-powered hydraulic pump but needs external 3 phase power. Just means the excavator can be operated without a combustion engine and fumes.

Remote location only. The Premises is working with zero emissions inside, while I believe a gen set as small as 10k can supply the 3 phase.
Niche market idea, but one that could have big impact on remediation or demolition near sensitive areas.
It's not an issue when the job site has readily available electricity

1.5 ton machine that requires an external power source (not included), or 80lb jackhammer with a compressor you can leave outside. And rent for faaaaaaar cheaper. Good luck selling your toy.

It’s not just for a jackhammer and the external power source is for indoors so your work space doesn’t become contaminated.
@@695noah bobcat makes scrubbers for their machines. Makes the exhaust into water vapor or something. Completely safe to run in doors
