Wonderful playing from both the pianist and orchestra.
I won’t say anything about Zinman. Ok I will, the most unpleasant conductor I played with in the whole of my fairly long career.

Haha! OK Dittany, all musicians have a right to a rant now and again, and fair enough, since we've all been through a lot. Let me say that you have a point, in referencing the time he worked with us in the early 80s. But as is the case with many conductors, he "mellowed with age." When he returned in the 90s and did this piece as well as Mahler 6, he was a nice, older man. But you are correct, it doesn't excuse people of being bastards when they're younger. -Lee
