    Elk are amazing grazers that provide food for many predators, and help the landscape balance! They are truly an important herbivore, we hunt them, predators hunt them, but the most important thing is learning about them so we can ensure they survive for many generations.

      @Kyle_, you are correct deer are the only animals that have antlers and all deer have antlers, a deer is any ungulate that belongs to the family Cervidae, the elk belongs to the genus Cervus, which members are called "common deer" and is the same genus that contains the red deer.

    Hunting is conservation. Only reason Elk #'s are up is because of hunters.

    • @chasenicholson3927

      Maybe you're right but I sure feel like a cancer as a human son earth we are killing every thing off . And I'm a hunter also

    • @chistinelane
      @chistinelane 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only reason it was down was hunters. It's not conservation, it's asset protection. Why don't you conserve animals like wolves and coyotes?

    • @mageofdoomsie1598
      @mageofdoomsie1598 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      chistine lane the hunters realized what they were doing and decided to make strict laws and regulations to protect the species. It was actually hunters who created many elk preservation programs, and so far there has been over 7 million acres protected for the benefit of elk and other wildlife. This documentary is old, so the population number is off. Elk are now up to over 1 million strong and are still growing

      Idk what language your speaking. But i just wanna say lots of members of the cervidae family are referred to as "Elk" including, red deer, moose, reindeer, etc. You refer to them by what part of the world youre from. Like reindeer in Norwegian countries, and caribou in north america.
