Knowing that Metal Gear had the codename of Project N312 and that it was originally called "Intruder" makes the name of the mission "Operation: Intrude N313" such a cool nod to the game's development.
Imagine how nostalgic a gamer must have felt who played Metal Gear in '87 and 28 years later played The Phantom Pain and saw Venom inserting a Metal Gear casette tape into the MSX2 and a loading screen popping up on the wall with the iconic recording sound(that sound is also in one of the TPP trailers) Thank you Boss. 👍
That was me, and I wish I could show the picture of my Metal Gear NES copy, I also was lucky to play Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake on MSX when it came out back then. I kinda figured Venom was going to be the final boss of Outer Heaven Metal Gear 1, and the was a body double of the real Big Boss, who Solid Snake actually takes down in Zanzibar at the end of Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake 🙂. It all came full circle, like a snake eating it’s own tail.
This is the content that TH-cam deserves, I’ve been here for a year and I’ll be here forever, regardless of political differences or disagreements, this content is priceless.
Can’t wait for you to cover metal gear 2 solid snake which I think is pretty overlooked or underappreciated in the series arguably the true beginning of the series story and lore it also has a pretty bopping soundtrack as well

Oh what a throwback, the original soundtrack and the VR Missions remixes are just timeless. Something about that music is the most Metal Gear part of the early games
This is why I tell people MGSV has the best gameplay of last generation. It was first game to bring old games formula, back to life, in 3d. Mgs1-4 was a very limited representation of MG. A linear one. When people say those games have the best gameplay. They're missing the point of how V is designed. During the days of MG you snuck in and out of enemy lines trying not to be seen. Using various routes and methods. In the slide screen format. In MGSV this is represented by allowing the player to tackle the game how they see fit. Items in MGSV have basic uses. But then also can be applied to problem and situations. But then also have no real use in the over all experience. It forces the player to use their imagination. Something video games have lost today. By becoming cinematic. Making gameplay a story vehicle instead of vice versa. MGSV reverses this. The story is spliced into the gameplay. I think the scene selection is why people call the story bad. I think if Kojima really got to finish the game. Chapter 3 would've been venom slowly getting his memory back. This is why the random ending is him smashing the mirror. Kojima had to close the story. So the ending is cut to the bathroom scene. Within V the whole story is about Venom(in Jack's stead). Chasing Skullface, until Zeroes ultimate creations Eli and David, are of age to wage war against him. That's how MGSV impacts MGS1, Venom forces big boss to accept his fate. By revealing himself (The act of revenge against Jack). Which sets up MG2(Real Jack is captured). MGS1 Eli who has been trying to kill their father. Goes along with a whole heist to settle the score with David. Ocelot straight up tells this to Kaz. So how is this not part of the game? In a perfect world we would've fought Solid Snake as Venom. Fulfilling our revenge against big boss. Which people genuinely feel a lust for revenge against Big Boss. Giving us Kojima's lesson being built over the story and the series. Take it like this. Every other MGS game is about a Snake being played. MGSV is about us getting played in a 4th wall way. In MGS3 Jack pulled that trigger. In MGSV we would've walked threw that door. Cementing every game up to that point. As we teaching the Patriots as the first study subject. How to use and abuse every Snake after us.
"I create games and not create stories. I merely include story elements that are neccessary for the game to work" - The same guy that put hour long cutscenes in his games
I hope kojima finds your channel. You're very well versed in the mgs universe and your way of speaking makes me wanna play the games again except for 4 or V...
This is excellent! Please make another one about MG2: Solid Snake and Metal Gear Solid! Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and Metal Gear Solid have so many similarities in it's story and game progression, MGS1 is almost a beat-for-beat re-telling of the story from MG2: Solid Snake, with different plots and characters, but the story follows a very similar arc, with alot of recurring and similar moments taking place.
Even outside of the MGS stuff, I’ve had about 10 “OUHHH SO THATS WHY NINTENDO NAMED IT 64!!l” in this video it’s not even funny. As a historical record this is some of your best work.

Penguin Adventure was available worldwide in territories where MSX was sold. It was localised for Europe. The prequel Antarctic Adventure was released for the Colecovision a non Japanese platform. The game is more like Pole Position than Geomon
makes sence that "intrude" was a kind of "beta" for metal gear it was n312, and the codename for the mission in metal gear was "operation N-313 NTRUDE"
Thank you! For the record, I meant that as people think of the phrase 'PC' today. They were not routinely called PC, and more importantly, the phrase PC did not yet carry all the implications it does now. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
They are from the MGS: VR Missions disc, or at least that's the first time I heard them. Very haunting and yet that 90's synth is the embodiment of the almost dystopic technopunk atmosphere of the VR Missions
