    When my “Dad” and mom split up my father refused to pay child support. He didn’t pay for 3 years after he left. My mom raised 4 kids on 30k a year and 42 dollars a month in child support. We went without heat and hot water for 3 years straight at point, we would have to steal electricity from the neighbors when the lights when off, we would have to boil water to bathe. I can’t count how many times as a kid I heard “We can’t afford that” or “Put that back we have to get what we need, not what we want.” I wish I had 80k a year for existing. This dude really is the embodiment of entitlement.

    Dawg I’m glad you’re covering this topic with a platform. I dont even like to get on this subject because I get heated and people just don’t understand the system is F up. I grew up with child support. I also currently pay child support. So I know it from both sides. My money isn’t for the family to pay towards utilities and mortgage. People like to argue. I’m paying to help support that child. Not the whole family. I’m not paying the bills for those grown ass people. If my child needs a roof or hot water, I have that at my place. He can live with me. His mom and step dad have to pay those same bills regardless if my child is there or not. Unfortunately the way that child support is set up, the other parent has free range to spend that money how they want. They can use it for whatever and don’t have to provide any type of paperwork showing the money was used to support the child. I have NO issues with helping my child out with whatever he needs. I do have every problem with handing my hard earned money to his parents to make their job easier and my child still lives the same lifestyle or still needs or wants things that I could use that money to help him with. I’d rather be court ordered to spend X amount of dollars per month on my child and have to show proof of what it was spent on for him rather than just blindly send money to the mom for her to spend however she likes. It’s BS.

    • @ThatGuyInMemphis
      @ThatGuyInMemphis ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh and $6700 a month is plenty 😂. It’s money to HELP support not FULLY support. 80k a year EXTRA still can’t provide the lifestyle you’re living, you’re living the wrong lifestyle. If it’s that expensive to live in NYC, then I promise you that you can move elsewhere and live rich off money like that. 80k a year isn’t what it used to be, but the average HOUSEHOLD income is under 80k in the US. My dude is getting that just in child support alone. Gtfoh. Guy needs a reality check hard. He thinks he has an argument, but sounds like a 25yr old brat with no idea what life even is about.

    Shaq, I’m glad your covering this, you are 100% right! For example, when you turn 18 and become of legal age, you make major decisions, one being deciding on joining the Army. Parents DO NOT have to continue to be responsible to the extent Marquise seems to think, he is basically failing himself. The fact that 50 Cent is still giving him money is wack, so there’s no point in taking about how much is enough, he shouldn’t get anything period. The parents are not obligated to do anything for their children after they are of legal age. Parents will sometimes help their children through college, help with a new car , help to get them on their feet. There’s no way in hell if my kid felt entitled that I would do so much as to lift a figure for someone that is so ungrateful. The best thing 50 Cent could do for him now is not give him a dime, sometimes the more you do for your kids your creating an obstacle that simply cripples them. I would like to ask him what are his plans for earning income on his own. Your comment of entitlement is right on point! Ugh….
