By Lexus CT200h had this as the factory backup camera and I got so used to it that I prefer it over the big radio screen style. Much more intuitive.

Now they need to put a front camera on it. Full screen display and wifi to share mobile screen would have been nice.

Yet you fail to mention that almost every car made in the last 23 years has 911 and on-star for instance built into the mirror so you cant just cut the wires. You can bet if you did codes would pop up.

Sorry but why use a camera mirror that only uses 1/3 of the actual mirror for the video. If I wanted to watch video that tiny id hold my cell phone in selfie mode out the driver window.

Does anyone know of a rear view mirror dash cam, with a rear view camera, where the rear view camera is attached to the dash cam, and doesn’t have to be attached or screwed to, the car itself? I have a small dash cam, and the rear view camera is attached to the camera itself, but, there the screen is MAYBE 2”-3” wide, but about half that screen is taken up by the rear view of traffic. That doesn’t bother me, but the screen itself is too small, so if the camera was wide enough to fit over the rear view mirror, and the rear view of traffic took up some space on the screen, I wouldn’t mind that. I don’t want holes drilled into my car, so that’s why I’m asking if there’s a dash cam out there, where the rear view camera doesn’t have to be attached, or screwed to the car.

Problem i see is that they are a mirror and reflect light onto the video screen, making it hard to see.

I have one of these on my Mom's MDX, it shakes a lot while driving, especially on the highway, most people have just been putting rubber in between the mount and the windshield to absorb some of the shock.
Hi, can you tell me if the mirror dims at night? The way I understood the product description was just the LCD insert for the camera display dims, not the mirror portion.
