  • I had a delightful conversation with Abdullah, a Muslim. Here's how it went.
Stay tuned for an upcoming video where I break this video down with someone much smarter than me in Islam.

Absolutely. He was a very kind and down-to-earth guy. I actually love just going out and talking with people like this. Mainly because it reminds me that even with all the mayhem and animosity we see online, simply talking face-to-face can really break those barriers. It's easier to see people in the image of God when we're looking them in the eye.

Come visit Dearborn Michigan and try those same questions, you will see quite a different attitude, once they are the majority...😎 They will be polite up to a point, but do not challenge their beliefs and do not preach the word of Jesus Christ in their neighborhood. Your intention is noted. But it is not taken.
Many many have come out of Islam when Jesus Himself reveals Himself directly to them in a supernatural way through dreams, actual encounters, and events that confirm those encounters.
To put it in other other words. Islam will "water" those seeds with shame, guilt, uncertainty, and hopelessness.
Jesus will water them with Truth and Love. There is no denying Jesus when He shows up in your life.
That is why after encountering Him, people are willing to leave Islam even if it means they will be killed they those who claimed to be their "brothers".
Only True Love can set you free like that, and only True Love can give you the hope necessary to leave an environment of lies and deception.
So yes, these seeds will be watered but only the True Living Water of Jesus will make them grow. Islam has no such power.
I pray that you encounter Him in a supernatural miraculous way so that you may know much He loves you and how undeniable He is.

I do hope that he thinks more on that. It's not actually the Quran that says that the Bible was corrupted, but rather their leaders and teachers throughout the years. And another that should be pushed on is the accuracy of the Quran itself, since history can prove that it's been tampered with (especially that one dude burning all the copies [which varied] except one version and making that the official one)

Interestingly, the Quran says that the Injel (gospels) and the Torah are divinely inspired by Allah. Muslims will say that the Bible has been corrupted so we can’t trust it anymore, but follow this logic for a second:
    1) the Quran was written around 600AD
    2) P66 is the earliest manuscript where we have the full gospel of John, and scholars estimate it was written around 150AD
    3) the Codex Sinaticus, the earliest compilation we have of the books of the modern Bible, was written around 350AD
    4) the “corrupted” Bible the Muslims say we have today is almost exactly the same Bible their prophet Muhammad said was infallible and given directly from Allah

Thank you, Melissa. Both you and Abdullah were quite respectful of each other and each-other's beliefs. It keeps coming back to something you said before. "How many religions are there in the world? Two. Do and Done." "Do" is works based. We, through our own efforts via good deeds in this life, in purgatory or in hell-fire, or even reincarnation over multiple, ascending lives etc. can earn our way into heaven. "Done" is the work done solely by Jesus Christ on the cross through His substitutionary atonement for us; His righteousness imputed to us in full by the power of the Holy Spirit. Truly, Christ is the only way to the Father. May God bless you and keep you, my sister.

Very interesting conversation. The one thing that stuck out to me was when he said that while works are important, it was only by the mercy of Allah that a person would get into paradise. Islam is a very works based religion, they have their five pillars of Islam that they believe if they do those things consistently enough then they will be good enough.

Around 8:00, he talks about something akin to Purgatory, a place of punishment that people will eventually escape. I haven't ever heard that about Islam before. Can anyone verify if that is part of Islam's doctrine?

Focus on direct evidence if they cannot produce that then show examples of the danger using feelings or I think logic. You do a wonderful job sister continue doing the will of the Father. If you read the Qur'an like you said, you would have seen a immediate disconnect from the previous scriptures, it's not a Abrahamic religion because Mohammed is an Arab NOT an Israelite. The Qur'an calls Christians "the worst of creatures" both in surah 98:6 and 8:22, it also says to fight against us (Christians) in 9:29 and 47:4.

Thank you for talking to everyone you can. Hindsight is 20/20 “they” say but he probably would have snickered if you said how do you know the Quran hasn’t been tampered with. My circle is small but at this point the friends in it are probably thinking…can he not have one day without talking about religion? That may be the enemy putting that in my mind. I just want to glorify the Lord with the time I’ve got left. I just hope I’m not pushing anyone away. 🤔 I respect anyone that lives their faith…..it inspires others to do the same. Not all but some.
anyone have an idea of when to walk away from someone that just wants to argue or debate when you are trying to share the gospel with them? I know just plant the seed.

Well done! A very civil conversation. I thought you did really well for not knowing more about Islam. What may help you, though, is to 1) research the timeline of Islam (~ 600 years after the ascension of Jesus, I think), 2) that all sin is against an eternal G.OD (Psalm 51) and so requires an eternal remedy , and 3) that Jesus is G.OD (Genesis 18, Exodus 24, etc. --> John 5:46-47). Brava!
