Glenn Ford was such a good actor in Westerns, and a great actor period. His performance in 3 10 To Yuma is a masterclass(and so is Van Heflin's). It's such a masterpiece of a Western and Elmore Leonard adaptation and it works even better because of Glenn Ford and Van Heflin, you just have no idea who's going to win the whole time that the ending even surprised me. A fantastic movie. The Bale and Crowe version is good too and works well for the same reasons the original did, because Bale and Crowe are also not the first names associated with the genre of the modern-ish era like the way Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner are, so once again you had no idea what way it was going to go in that second adaptation. As for Glenn Ford, he made so many great westerns and I'm you highlighted many of them here. Great video again, Wrangler!
Glen Ford as Tom Sunday in the TNT mini series “The Sackettes” was right up there as well. I don’t think any other actor could have portrayed the LaMour’s character any better.
Glenn was a stalwart of so many good Westerns! I don't think he gets enough credit for his range. I particularly like his comedic side, which is given more exposure in The Sheepman. Some other nonWestern comedic turns: A Pocketful of Miracles The Teahouse of the August Moon Imitation General
I think Ford’s best Western was The Man From Colorado. What makes this movie work is. 1: How insane he is but is able to hide it (For example: Edgar Buchanan did not believe it until he was shown the diary). 2: The amount of power he held as a Judge. Someone with those two advantages is more frightening then the obvious psychotic like Jack Elam in Rawhide or Liberty Valance. ps. Ford’s best film? Fate Is The Hunter.

All of these were "C" list movies at best. Glenn Ford was a great performer in movies and also with the ladies.
