  • Kyoto to Nara on the Aoniyoshi Sightseeing Limited Express Train
    This beautiful train turns a simple journey from one city to another into an event in itself and we can't recommend it enough!
    The Aoniyoshi is a luxury sightseeing train operated by Kintetsu Railways connecting Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto.
    The word "Aoniyoshi" was a classical poetic term used to refer to Nara in the Man’yoshu, the oldest collection of Japanese poetry published in 759 during the Nara period.
    The color of the train, the patterns and motifs within the interior have all been designed to celebrate ancient Nara.
    To complete the theme, the food and drinks available on board are also local to Nara.

    Thank you for this video, the train looks so awesome! We have booked the tickets online and will ride this train from Osaka to Nara soon 🙂We are so excited! BTW Where can one buy those Aoniyoshi key chains? At Nara station?

      We bought ours on the train. On the middle car, you can get some refreshments and Aoniyoshi souvenirs.

    Is there a link to book this train online from Kyoto to Nara or Nara to Kyoto? Do I still need to buy the basic train ticket with ICOCA card? I heard that in Japan such train needs two tickets, one basic ticket, plus a reserved seat ticket. Thanks.

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to purchase a regular ticket plus a special limited express train ticket. You can buy them at the station before boarding, but you run the risk of missing out on a seat as the train is really popular. We suggest book online in advance at Kintetsu's webpage: www.ticket.kintetsu.co.jp/vs/en/e-ticket/
      If you need any further assistance, please email our visitor center staff at info@sarusawa.nara.jp
      They will be happy to help.

    Hi, can we use our IC card to pay for the basic ticket? Or we need to buy it on the station?

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use your IC card to pay for your basic ticket. However, the Aoniyoshi is very popular so it is best to book your seat in advance.

      Did you buy the souvenir on the train or station? Thanks!

      They sell souvenir on the train, alongside some snacks and drinks. Try the meat bao and pudding. They were soo gooood! Best to buy them before the train leaves the station, as some of the snacks/drinks sold out quickly.

    Are all seats reserved only for the Aoniyoshi? We have IC cards to cover basic fare, do we just buy the Limited Express Tickets at machine or window? Do we insert the Limited Express Tickets anywhere?

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes all seats are reserved seats. You can either buy tickets at a sales counter at the larger Kintetsu stations or online from their webpage.

    can you use kintetsu rail pass on aoniyoshi train? I'm planning for daytrip to nara from osaka, before heading to Kyoto.
    Journey would be Osaka --> Nara --> Kyoto. All within the same day. Is it worth it still to buy the Kintetsu Rail Pass?

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The pass covers the basic fare to ride the train, but you will still have to pay the extra charge to ride it.

      @@NARAVisitorCenterInn I see, so let's say I want to ride the aoniyoshi train from osaka namba to kintetsu nara, it will cost me 1,410 yen for adult (as per the website) -- my kintetsu rail pass would cover only the fare (680 yen)? And will not include the Limited Express charge/Ltd. Exp. Charge (520yen) and the special car fare (210 yen)?
      Thanks for the clarification!

      @@eizzahazman We double-checked for you. The Kintetsu pass only covers the basic fare. You'll have to pay the extra for the limited express ticket and the surcharge for it being a sightseeing train. As you can hopefully tell from the video though, it's definitely worth it.

    Booked express ticket online, can I just just tap an IC card to pass the gate to cover the basic fare ticket?

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can do that. That'll cover the basic fare from station to station - as if you were just catching a regular train.

    Which platform? How to go from Kyoto Station main entrance?

    • @NARAVisitorCenterInn
      @NARAVisitorCenterInn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Follow the overhead signs for the Kintetsu Line. There's only one entrance and exit for the Kintetsu Line so it's pretty easy to find.
