Yes if you remove the stoppers it will run continuously until you manually turn it off. You could leave your current settings and wired to a wireless switch so you can control when the pump comes on or off even if you aren't home.
Depends on if you are in the begging of a cycle or in the middle of the cycle. You can leave it off and it will trigger automatically to come on when the 1st notch hits and when it gets to the 2nd notch it will turn off automatically. The time acts as a switch. If you have a switch on your pool pump you need to make sure that is turned on or the time can't turn it on.
What do you mean about the "highest setting is best for vacuuming out your pool? I had another question, my pool guy changed my pump from 1HP to 1.5 and it went from 10 on the thermostat to 20 and so when it hits 30 I clean it, but I heard it was not good. I didn't know, the guy said the 1.5 would take care of the pool. Also, it is better to run the pool at night, my bill including running the pump during the day and air conditioner 500 dollars, so that is the highest since living here 30 years.
My pool pump has a high & low setting which means more gallons per minute on high vs low. The high setting is great for vacuuming the pool bc it gets up all the debris. 1.5hp seems like plenty of power. I always try to consult a pools specialist & match the specs of my previous motor. When it comes to running my pool on most of the day I just keep it on the low setting. If i just shock the pool I use the high setting to get the chemicals churning faster. It is really preference though.
This is very helpful… ¿question? I have an above ground pool, the Hayward pump with swim-pro filter… along with zodiac nature vision pro and Hayward heater… they were all hooked up via installation to this box or off this timer box… would have them on a timer blow any of the motors out by they being flicked on and off like this? Sorry I am VERY new owner (got the pool Thursday) and the company is NOOOO HELP!
It wouldn’t blow any of the motors. Most pool pump motors have their own on/off switches. The pool pump timer acts as a main breaker switch but on a timer. If you want the system to work you must turn your pool pump on & then adjust your timer accordingly so it can turn on and off at specific intervals.
If you want the timer to work that pump must be turned to the "ON" position. The timer turns the main circuit ON/OFF automatically once you set the times.
How can I turn off the timer? I have drained my jaccouzzi and don't want it to turn on for a few days until I've finished working on it. So many videos about this and none say how to turn the thing off! My pump does not have a button.
Finally a good explanation. Showing me which direction the yellow dial turns help tremendously thank!
Thanks for the feedback & for watching!
This the best video I found straight to the point, simple and clear! Thanks so much ! 🙏
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Omg thank you so much. I couldn't find the answer to a question until i I watched your video.

Thank you it is very helpful . I watched others' video but it didn't mention how it works and set the time.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Question - do you always keep your switch on auto or I should say on or does it do it automatically when the time comes around?
You keep the switch on initially and then it will automatically cycle on and off depending on the spacing of the tabs for your desired time to run.
If you want to run the pump continuously for a few days how to you go about using the timer? Do you remove the “off” stopper?
I have the same question. How do we make it run 24 hours during freezing weather?
Yes if you remove the stoppers it will run continuously until you manually turn it off. You could leave your current settings and wired to a wireless switch so you can control when the pump comes on or off even if you aren't home.
Am I supposed to leave the timer on “off” after I set my time That I’d like for it to be on?
Depends on if you are in the begging of a cycle or in the middle of the cycle. Hi. May I know what is your setting with the filter?
My and filter is set to filter. When I vacuum I have it set to waste and when I use flocculant I set it to recirculate. Hope this helps.

Is there a way to set it to come on 4hrs during the day and 4 hrs at nights? Thxs
Yes, but you have to buy additional "time switch trippers" from Amazon or somewhere.
Absolutely, you just need 2 more metal switch trippers which would all you to run your pool as you see fit.
Does the pool pump need to be on to program the timer?
If you want the timer to work that pump must be turned to the "ON" position. The timer turns the main circuit ON/OFF automatically once you set the times.
So my new pump came with a prong plug however I noticed my failed pump is hardwired to the timer. What do I do???
I personally would hire an electrician. I replaced my pool pump years ago & it wasn’t too challenging.

I would remove all the notch triggers that screw onto the wheel timer. I flip the time switch to the off position.
@@VibrantDeals thank you. The notch triggers are removable? I loosen them to move them but haven't felt it coming out.
Question. I removed all the notches and flipped the switch to off. But I feel like the pool is still running. Do I need to turn off the pool pump?
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent, thank you!

Great video
Thank you!

Thank you
No problem thanks for watching!
What if you see a flash of light when it turns off.
It could be the circuit arcing causing a possible spark.
excellent!
Thanks!
Thank you I always been nervous touching this since my dumbass got shocked few times trying to figure this out. 😅😅
Thanks for watching! Be safe out there lol
How I put those little metals 😭😭😂
It just clamps on the metal wheel & you screw them down tight.
