It's such a wholesome thing, how happy Alan and Sarah are portrayed with each other, and Alan actually having a good relationship with his father- warms the cockles of my heart, whatever they may actually be.
And "reuniting" with Judy and Peter.
Don't forget that Sarah has a bun in the oven, too!
A true happy ending
It's a brief conversation but I love that Alan is on the phone with his father and that they've made plans to spend the winter holidays together. Shows just how much one heart to heart can repair what seems broken

I mean yeah, but for the better. Parents are still alive so Judy and Peter get to have a normal childhood. I think they'd want that over the Jumanji nightmare they had to face in the original timeline
Actually the fact that he never got sucked into the game and went missing already alters the timeline.

@@brycewakefield6565 At the start we learn that parents of Judith and Peter died during the avalanche. At the Xmas scene, parents still live, so we know that this happens before the accident. Than parents say that they want to go skiing to the mountains, for which Alan and Sara stops them by NOOO as Alan and Sarah knows that they would have die in the avalanche happening in the place where the parents wanted to go. By this altering the timeline, saving parents of Judith and Peter...

So bittersweet that they missed the kids so much and finally get to see them again but the kids wouldn't know them. No one's fault of course but still bittersweet 🙏
According to the lore in the newer Jumanji movies, they would keep the memories, but only when they get to the moment in time when they started playing the game

I only now realized that Sarah screams NO first followed a split second later by Alan Parrish. hahahaha. Both of them KNEW that Judy and Peter's parents died on a ski trip in the Mountains in the previous timeline. The audience KNEW how important it was to make sure they did NOT go on that trip! I love this movie.
In a deleted scene, which was not included in the film but was in the novel, there is Alan appointing Carl as the new president of the factory.
So stupid they didn't film it, it resolved a major plot point. I'm glad they had him tell his dad, but Carl was as much the heart of the factory as his dad was. What a missed special moment that woulda been.

There was also a deleted scene where Alan and Sarah gave Judy and Peter the new shoes. They love it.
@@SlashbossThey did film it, wasn't in the film of course. You can find a deleted scene on TH-cam where you see Carl go into an office with some folks and the door said something along the lines of 'company president' under his name.

I feel bad all the bonding they had with the kids during their adventure was erased. I'm glad everyone's alive and well but the alternate versions of everyone never happened.
Did you watch the movie? That is exactly what doesn’t happen.
Well, considering in the sequels the kids all came out at the time when they started playing and that time hasn’t passed yet in this timeline, I wouldn’t be surprised if Judy and Peter suddenly remember once the moment they started playing from their perspective comes.
I know it seems bitter sweet that Judy and Peter don’t remember Alan and Sarah but you know one I think that’s the price it’s paid to ensure that they live long happy lives without you know without a problem so they could just have normal lives. Happy ones too
But on the bright side, its a new opportunity for new memories, and in a better light. The bonding they had was during the play through of a rather horrid game. But with that memory gone, then can nowget to know the children better in more peaceful times.
I admit it's a pity that the kids didn't remember about Jumanji, but what's important is that Aland and Sara eventually met them again - it would have been sad if the film ended without them doing so. Plus as you said, everyone's alive and well, and they all make bonds all over again. Maybe in better ways.
What's really going to bake their noodle later on is when the avalanche occurs that they weren't there to be killed by. That "NO!" is going to be a whole lot more memorable after that.
They won't know they were saved. If they aren't killed by it, they aren't going to know about it.
@@ChristopherCraven The odds are very high they'll know about it:
1) They fully intend to go skiing there, they're just going to delay it now. That means their minds will be absolutely fixated on that location. They may very likely hear about the avalanche even before they go.
2) When they DO go, they'll hear about a big avalanche, one that likely had killed other skiers besides just them, or at least have placed them at great risk.
3) Now all they have to do is say, "Oh wow! When did that happen exactly? ON THAT EXACT DAY WE WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE?!"
You don't have to be killed in a place you vacation at to know it would have killed you. It just has to make the news.

Even though Jumanji isn’t a Christmas movie, it does have a wonderful Christmas scene in it, which shows the family happy and how time has passed.
Remember that the father is still alive in this new timeline. He had died in the past one, and the whole town declined economically.
There are little expressions the kids give that make me think they know, but don't know.
The ending when the jumanji box at the beach, is the start of 2017 movie sequel. Nicely done.

@@shademaster24601 Yeah I always thought that they would step up to adopt both of them but in the flashforward they just prevented them from becoming orphans.
Such a horrible boss that they directly stopped them from dying and leaving their children behind all alone. Sure they would have probably adopted the kids, however, getting adopted doesn't just magically fix everything as the kids know they'll never see their biological parents again.
@solame4983 This is the present year of 1995 in this scene, and you might remember in the beginning of the movie it was mentioned that Judy and Peter's parents took a skiing vacation without their children and they died on the vacation which caused Judy and Peter to live with their aunt Nora (she must be their godmother who is single) and now that adult Alan and adult Sarah knew what happened from looking into the future and hearing that Judy and Peter's parents wanting to take a skiing vacation in the Canadian Rockies, they felt to themselves "this is the time and year when Judy and Peter's parents died" and they wanted to change all that which is why they screamed "no" to prevent them from dying but made them have to start the job early.

When I watched this film again a while back, I noticed the little girl seemed familiar, and what a surprise when I realized she also played Mary Jane in the OG Spider-Man trilogy.

Honestly surprised Alan and Sarah waited so long to have kids. They are in their mid to late 30's here while not unheard of the fact they were together for so long and knew they wanted to be makes me think they would be more sure about kids.
We don’t know if they have others or not. It’s acknowledged that they “love KIDS” as in plural. So it’s possible the others, if there are, weren’t in the scene.

Jumanji is a Christmas movie? Wow. A gift that keeps giving.
When I was a kid, I used to think that Jim and Martha came along for Judy and Peter as step-parents because we always kept hearing that their parents died. However, years back, I put the clues together to the conclusion in which those were and are parents of Judy and Peter. After Jumanji was finished by Alan and it all goes back, everything went back to normal as was before, with Alan and Sarah back as 12 and 13 and they got rid of the game anchoring it with two bricks and throwing it in the river. 25 years later, Christmas 1994, Jim and Martha arrive with Judy and Peter. They still planned their skiing holiday in the Canadian Rockies. But Alan and Sarah convinced them to start the marketing in the new line instead, thereby preventing what would’ve been their likely death. With that, the kids could have the normal ways of life, with Peter not being silent for so long and Judy not being a habitual liar with their deaths traumatizing even her even more which led to her lying so much out of habit. In Judy and Peter’s case, as well as Jim and Martha, Alan and Sarah did the right thing.
When Alan disposed of the game after beating it, the alternate 1995 was changed back to the real 1995.

Makes me think about the Ending Credits Song from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965)
I just noticed something in this scene after watching it numerous times, and maybe it has been commented on elsewhere. The song everyone is singing is “Hark the Herald” the same song that is sung in “It’s a Wonderful Life” when everybody first gathers at the Bailey’s home…another story that deals with an alternative timeline and its repercussions. I wonder if it was done purposely. 😁

I love the subtly when Alan talks about the cross trainers with his dad. At the start of the film, Carl was about to show those same shoes to Alan's dad, so I'm assuming Alan and Carl worked on it together.
Carl made a type of basketball shoe, that was his idea. This is probably a different project, Alan said it's a cross-training shoe.
@ the idea was that it was still a sport shoe, which was not usual for the parish shoe company, so I’d like to think that the Cross trainers were a continuation of athletic shoes

The is my favorite scene in the whole movie!
The only way you get to remember both timelines is if you or someone with you are fixed points in time. Its the same with Banner taking and Steve returning the infinity stone at the time it was taken. Time flows as it were with no change.
Still regret that Judy and Peter couldn’t recognize Alan anh Sarah even when they meet each other :(( The line: “It’s 1969, they don’t even exist yet” by Sarah really cut me deep. Well, just have to accept the logic of the film and time.

From both this movie and it’s sequels, when the game is over every player returns to the moment they start playing. So in a few months the kids will remember both timelines, the current one and the one where their parents die.
This would have been a better sequel than the remakes lol
And that would be amazing because I don't want the kids to forget everything they've gone through, the bond between them and Alan is just too sweet dammit

This was the golden years of the movies, I was around in 95 in the 90s movies was so great back then, there was no agenda, no message in the movies, that was some good times I used to go to the movies all the time, that was one of my hobbies, now I just lost all interest in going to movies, the woke agenda, just took the spirit how to make a real movies, I always go back and watch the movies of the 90s in the early 2000s those was the golden years of the movies😊
This one-off movie is certainly a great Christmas tradition viewing that can stand the test of time and forever relevant.
Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt made this movie hysterical.
This is my favorite part of Jumanji. Although the game ending was nice, this is more satisfying. RIP Robin Williams.

As great of an ending that is, I think it would have been better if Alan and Sarah eventually lost of memory of the 26 year, but yet upon meeting Judy and Peter the 4 had this felling of familiarity. Rather than awkwardness.
Something I always wondered, is if the kids remembered anything? It was just the way they looked at the others that makes you wonder.

She wasn’t born yet so she can’t remember anything, and if she did she would remember everything at that age and would have been a world famous genius baby with the brain of a 10 year old.
Well, in the two sequels all of the players came out of the game at the time they all started playing, Alex in 1996 and everyone else in 2016. They just haven’t reached the moment where Judy and Peter started playing yet

Well, the kids in 1995 didn’t exist by the time Alan and Sarah started the game, so by the time the ending comes in, they have no memory of what happened in the previous timeline.
Jumanji showed them the future vision.🧐
Only Alan Beamish and Sarah whittle have two separate timelines. One where Allen grew up in Jumanji and Sarah whittle grew up with mental problems. And a second timeline where Allen and Sarah both had a normal childhood after returning finally to the point where Alan and Sara first started playing the game when they were kids. I love anything to do with time travel and alternate timelines.
Time travel is possible because everyone has been doing it every moment of their life. If it isn't possible then how did I get 71 years into the future from when I was born 71 years ago. Granted it took me 71 years to get here, but here I am. So the question isn't is time travel possible but rather is it possible to travel faster so that it takes me only one hour to get 71 years into the future rather than taking 71 years to get 71 years into the future.
For every second that goes by we travel one second into the future from where we were one second ago. So that means our time-travel speed is one second per second. If we can do one second per second then why can't we do one year per second. I'll leave that to future scientists to figure out.

I have a theory about the final beach scene. Someone or several people played the game and when they discovered how dangerous it was, they got rid of the board. And on top of that, he appears on the beach without the chains.
I'm glad Peter changed back into his old self.
