Instead of a .1 'upgrade' I would rather them announce that they were going to massively improve their quality control during fork assembly.... 1) Match each upper to lower in terms of bushing tolerances and burnish each and every fork before it ever goes to the next station of the assembly line.. 2) Not just jam the air spring head into a giant tub of Slickoleum so that the negative and positive chambers are reduced and won't equalize. 3) Actually put the freaking specified amount of fluid into each lower leg and not just 3ml here, 5ml there and 'oops' none in this one. We should NOT have to disassemble a $1K fork as soon as it is delivered to properly assemble it ourselves.... Looking at you too FOX.
Quality control is a huge problem in the bike industry in general in my opinion. It's not just Rockshox and Fox, and not just suspension. For these prices you would expect exceptional QC, and it's the opposite.
And to add to that, admit that the piston design, preloaded shimstack and choke on the HSC was a design flaw, and what you did was just fixing the faulty product you released under the name of Zeb charger 3. Looking at you @rockshox
So true ! Prices are crazy, quality is horrible. Ima bike mech so I can fix many things myself but deamn ! If you pay 1k for something it shouldnt be only for a sticker... Bike, susp and other parts manufactures get your $hit togeter.
Well this... Update. it's to correct some weak engineering decisions they made with the 3. Fair on them but they're still selling 12$ of parts for 75$ Previous charger owners should get a huge rebate on the update kit.
why do tech guys talk about products as if they were a person? "Charger 3.1 has more adjustibility. For a rider that has charger 3.0." It's THE charger 3.1, A charger 3.0. Staring to sound like apple
I'm not the biggest fan of sram or Fox they both have the same mediocre QC issues and are needy for service, last fork I bought was a helm and it came perfect out of the box, how hard can it be 😅
It's even worse service wise if you exclude charger bladder replacement, but with a fancy overpriced Japanese coating available. Do yourself a service buy a xfusion trace or a higher end suntour, you won't get much more hours between service but you would have paid 1k less for relatively similar performance....

I surprised to see ish like that on my Pike ultimate, okay it's not the highest end model but it's certainly not cheap and not a budget fork...
@@kam1l0 instead i will get suntour durolox 38 $500+ price
Rockshox are being the good guys, by offering the upgrade kit, so people with the 3.0 don't need to buy a whole new damper.

Thank you for the insight.. Good to learn 3.1 is a potential upgrade rather than need a new fork..
When can you buy them?
More range, with the same amount of clicks, means less fine-tunability.
I wish they would do a 3.1 upgrade for a 120mm travel SID.
how about clarify the different tunes you offer. none of it makes sense
Marzocchi: easy "set and forget" setup at half the price. More shredding, less fiddling. Good enough for pros, good enough for me. Also comes in red.

75$ for 7$ in parts for an upgrade kit is abhorrent

Do yourself a favor & buy a Fox shock instead 😉
