It's healthier and safer to suspect our own bad opinions than to expose ourselves repeatedly to situations where we might be judging someone poorly in our hearts (whether that judgement is accurate or not). Best to listen to teachers whose teachings we love, and leave it at that.

Giving bayah to a Shaykh is bida'ah. Just tell these sufis straight. The only person we should follow blindly is Prophet muhammad (saw). Having a teacher to learn from is important yes but not to blindly follow and give bayah too. We learn the methodology of learning so we can learn ourselves
You are an unintelligent person to follow muhammed saw blindly you have to go to a teacher, Allah said in the quran oh you who believe if you do not know ask those who know. So to know what the prophet said and follow it blindly you need a teacher. So don't be stupid
Yes "if" you don't know then ask ahlul dhikr. Meaning people of knowledge and understanding. That doesn't mean you take their opinion blindly. Nobody knows everything about the deen except Prophet Muhammad(saw). All deen rulings are from the Qur'an and authentic sunnah not from people's opinions or what they "think" is the correct understanding. And Allah made this deen easy to follow and understand not difficult. Where does Islam say you have to give bayah to a Shaykh? It says give bayah to the sultan (leader) of the Islamic state. And you can't obey anyone in disobedience to Allah.
Burhan the Somali The burden of proof is on you to prove it. You are claiming it is not so bring forth your evidence. Our evidence is simply this is not from the teaching of the prophet SAW.
Carlito Ibn Jackson having a shaykh is simply having someone to help you just like going to a doctor. It's just a waseela, knowing that Allah creates everything. Do you understand what I mean brother? The sahaba had the prophet to help them stay on the right path (he was their sheikh). For the majority it's hard to have a dead person leading you, a sheikh is basically the one being in the prophet's place for you, so helping you so you stay on the right path and come closer to Allah Teala. Not just that, but there were also people from the Salaful Salihin that had sheykhs. Omar for example was also a sheikh, he had a murrid. And you can't just classify everything as bid'a.
What i like about this sheikh is he is open minded and does not blindly belive in any methodology

For someone to lecture and provide not sahih evidence is very dangerous
***** bayah to a Shaykh is bida'ah. Where's evidence to say you have to give bayah to a Shaykh?

The burden of proof is on you to prove it.
This is an isolated opinion
+Zayd Hussein Mia Not it's not
Even if it was, opinions change over time and become ijma', as fiqh was intended to work.
