Disgusting how there's nothing performed from "Catch As Catch Can" as usual. Cos it's so important to do stuff like that stupid Dead or Alive song and that 'Kids' bore, when there's 'House Of Salome' and 'Stay Awhile' to do, for instance. Kim, you say you 'love music', but you really don't if its a complete 1983 album, and much of every other album too, as these things never ever get sung again! You're too busy loving all the other crap out there. STOP please! Otherwise, a nice lot of montages, esp clips of some very important songs, incl. the new stuff from the new album, but the constant replays of her doing that 'Kids' song and to end with it-is it ALWAYS necessary! Some of us would like rid. She's only done almost 200 songs better than it, though she needs to know this herself, I agree!
When you go to ANY pop/rock concert no matter who you are seeing the NUMBER ONE thing first and foremost you want to hear is the singer or bands GREATEST HITS.
Remember the FANTASTIC Kids in America brought Kim to reconnition scoring her a Number Two chart hit.
Your first hit record is ALWAYS the one that is going to get your audience singing along and enjoying the concert.
Artist always do a mixture of "classic" material and mix in some new album stuff along the way.
Kids In America and You Keep Me Hanging On are Kim's biggest hits so of course she is going to sing them.
@@darrenplumpton8900 I fucking don't. If that is the standard reaction of most fans then I pity them as people. And act might as well not HAVE a career and we all might as well have not bothered sticking with them and buying every album, single and B-side if it's going to be like that for them and us! The overrated, very UN-FANTASTIC 'Kids In America'-the only one of her songs almost undeserving of its fame. I get no thrills when I hear that thing,not least cos it's ALWAYS last-what a dampner to end on. She draws way too much attention to something that holds little to the brilliant catchiness, beauty and depth that characterises her usual output, and lets everyone else do it too. It's the only one I wouldn't want to sing along to. If that's what gets everyone excited, then they really need to 'Get Out' more.
Shouldn't audiences be enjoying the concert cos the idiot these idiots have come to see is there in the first place! I know of artists how deliberately leave off certain 'big' things now and again, but no not her. Of course they do some new album stuff-it's the album that they're promoting, but never fear, come 2021 (if we ever get concerts again) she'll be consigning that to the past too in the graveyard where she lets the vast majority of her stuff rot. Pity, cos I've had 'Kids' name down for that place in 'Stone' for decades, and I can certainly almost go one without hearing at all. Not so anything else she does.
Some artists go against singing 'big things' just for the sake of it all the time. Nothing wrong with giving the predictable a little rest. Don't see why a career in song should be even done if you're going to only concentrate on the same 10% all the 'Time'.
Kyach: Sorry but I am not quite certain if you are a fan of Kim's or not from what you write.
Are you saying then that just because one person,namely you,do not like a certain record that Kim (or anybody) does not like that it must be blocked from every playlist of every gig she/they are ever going to do from that record on?
What about the very people who heard it,liked it,bought it and made it a chart classic that got to number two.Who did that? Me for one.
It should have been a Number One but Shakin'Stevens got there first with his cover of Frankie Vaughan's Green Door.
Ask Kim Wilde fans to name one of her songs and I bet 99 per cent would say Kids In America because it is her most renowned song.
It is the one that got her noticed.
I love most of Kim's songs but not all of them.
So if she sang one of her songs that I do not like I do not suddenly want it banning so she can not sing it live ever again because that song could be someone else's favourite by her.
Just Grin and Bear it for the three or four minutes it last.
Her next song may just be YOUR favourite.
@@darrenplumpton8900 I always find it weird how other people slate themselves as a fan of someone, yet just cos they have a problem with a point of view they've never encountered before (making me wonder myself about her so-called fans), they then make the ridiculous point you can't possibly be one. There I am, song naming from albums I know left right and centre, but I guess, no, to be a TRUE fan, you've only got to like that rather monotonous, even dated bore she came out with first! I wish you'd stop jumping to conslusions and getting everything WRONG!
Your lofty silly tones mean nothing. 'Kids' is fine for what it is, a relatively unimportant song whose only true signifigance is that it srated the career of the best woman in music who would only better it with just about everything since is a statement, not a hatement! Seriously, are you so weird you think every fan of hers should be orgasmic about this bloody song over 200 better others or so? You want to grow up a bit, cos your being the childish, petulant misinterpreting idiot here. Saying I'd like the damn song flatlined now and again is HARDLY BANNING IT, you fool. I'll tell you what IS banned, though you don't seem to have a problem with it. CATCH AS CATCH FUCKING CAN! That album has been BANNED fromr existing for her, Ricky and the whole family and continues to be! Look how they reat some of their best work?! Ridiculous, but it seems to me this kind of inanity and bizarre reason-free thinking seems to be quite common of many of her fans too. MOST of her songs are BANNED from her gigs cos she can only seem to either recall about the same 6-10 or just likes it that way. Her family and band ditto.
'Kids' is not a classic, it's the START of a CLASSIC CAREER like no other. That's it main deal, but it's not one I need to keep hearing just cos it did that! Who wants to be known for just one song, and part of the way she gets treated by most IS halfway down to the bloody thing. Some of it is her fault, she continues to draw way too much attention to it. Other artists want to be known for more than one song! Do you base a stellar career on just that? That this one song is you and nothing else! It's tantamount to saying her career was a big waste cos clearly she can't keep recording it and releasing it and filling albums and setlists with it and just it alone. This is what you seem to make it sound like..
Oh and if you're guilty of helping it got to No.2, well big boo on you, cos where were you when far better ones out by her (like EVERYTHING) were trying for the places they deserved far better over that. 'Brats in the states' No.1? Get real. That's be a miscarriage of justice even further, No.2 seems too good for it. Try 106 of her others lones-HOUSE OF SALOME, CHILD COME AWAY, CAN YOU HEAR IT, BLADERUNNER, WORDS FELL DOWN, SHANGRI-LA, 1969, GET OUT, YOU CAME, THE TOUCH, WENDY SADD, ANYPLACE-ANYWHERE-ANYTIME' and so on...THEY'RE all No.1 material, and 'Kids' didn't deserve it any more than that stupid old Elvis desperado did.

But I can only hope if they're as awful as you infer they are (I almost agree but I'm hoping not) then they're really not bothering with, but actually you miss the point as many I've spoken too KNOW it but don't CARE about it beyond being annoyed it keeps turning up all over the place in loser's memories, bloody 80s compilations and old retro party stations as it merely points to your average person being too lazy, boring, insular and taste-free to actually bother finding something ELSE she did to play. And more to the point, tonnes of the ignored stuff.
So 'Kids' got her noticed. Big effin. 'Holiday' got slagdonna noticed (after being re-released 50 times) though of course it was blue videos that did that, 'Planet Earth' for Duran, 'Sometimes' for Erasure, 'Take On Me' for A-ha, 'Heaven Is A PLace On Earth' for Belinda Carlsie, 'Stop' for Sam Brown, SO WHAT? Does that mean THEY should matter for all fans and themselves more than anything else they've done JUST cos it got their 'career' started, no one can like anything else.
Unlike you, I DO love all of Kim's songs as it's verey easy to do, unlike most people, and best of all, her songs are all so different. Even 'Kids' stands out, but negatively. Just lacks the spirit, true medoldy, beauty, hooks and wild imaginationwoven into her many songs that followed.I don't even see how you can even try and share my space? WHEN COULD KIM EVER SING A SONG YOU DON'T LIKE-unless it's one of the same 6 she only ever bothers with (not counting whatever new album she has out she's premiering and then never again once she's moved on)? That's silly.
MY DISLIKE OF THE SONG IS BASED ON HOW UNFAIRLY SHE'S TREATED! She is treated as a little pop girl with this colourless thing as the only thing that mattered, like she's a ONE HIT WONDER instead of a WON HIT WONDER. It's there every time something else of hers should be, whether another gutless, worthless various artists 80s compilation, another worthless 80s show-even ones she hosts herself (she would!) or another stupid DJ slot. Do Bananarama, Eurythmics, Alison Moyet, Simple Minds, Minogue,. slagdonna, Michael Jckson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and a whole bunch of ,lesser-lights get this with just one song?! No. And they should. I remember Andy Bell of Erasure sounding off in a mag about radio stations only playing 'Sometimes' and 'Little Respect' when we've got so much more than that'. Well at least you get to be played and with two, I thought, but I got his meaning and why don't you|?
Don't see why I should grin and bear that 'Kids' song, I'd rather not see her or leave early. Anyway, I don't have any one favourite. Technically it should be EASY to play a favourite, as I have 4 faves on many albums, and more to the point, just ANY song that isn't that blooody 'kids' one, or the other 5 she only ever keeps doing IS a favourite cos it's not these 6 that are ALWYAS ONLY EVER being done! Not incluing the 500 covers she keeps throwing in by all the bores she revers more than herself!
And NEXT? LAST? Hell, 'Kids' could feasibly be ignored IF IT WASN'T ALWAYS THE LAST ONE TO END EVERY BLEEDING CONSTANT, like the fart that follows you out of the car, and I KNEW SOMETHING ELSE WOULD BE NEXT and therefore worth getting excited about again. But no, you lose again. MY FAVE SONG can't be next, cos with 'Kids', there is no next. It's the flaming start, the flaming middle and the flaming end and my hate for it is really hate for all the people that may just be like you, thinking it SHOULD be like this and not a problem, yet I have a problem, for not wanting it like this! What is WITH you people? You seems as maddening as madogga fans who are-well fans of madogga!
