      I suffered this dilemma for a while. 🤯
      I tried to explain it to a friend but he didn't get it, I think it's just a lag or slow start to productivity. 😜
      I felt like I was stagnating whilst watching these motivational videos but really I was making some progress, just I had no focus and I was trying to percieve these videos as achievements or something. Self fail. 😜
      I avoided 'motivational videos' for a while and I realised that it's better, for me at least, to work on myself through other things and then use these videos every now and then to boost my progress if it starts to slip.
      I don't know if this explanation will help anyone, but I hope it may display a glimmer of understanding. Peace everybody. X

    I suppose I am one of the few that actually did what Jordan is talking about. For what ever reason. I guess the biggest reason was I met a great women when I was very young. 16 to be exact. We were both born into lower income households and it was clear to me that I had to focus all my efforts into taking care of both of us and she felt the same way. We worked almost non stop. Trying very hard along the way. I am now a multimillionaire and have been married 36 years. Looking back the amount of work that was accomplished is staggering. But I guess it was the best thing to do. I learned an incredible amount working all those years and have been able to help many people around me.

      @ZzLeVo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ry0k904 procrastination is a sign something is wrong not that you lack passion, passion and motivation don't stay forever you also need discipline. The most important part however is having a goal and doing everything to strive for that goal. Whether you succeed or not does not matter it's all about the pursuit of that goal and that will make you grow. You might even suddenly realize what you're striving for is not what you actually want and that there's something else you want, and you would not have realized that if you had never gone for it.
      I've been told procrastination is a sign you're not in control of your emotions or haven't just realized that you're not. For example I have stage fright which used to stop me from even socializing unless it's 1 on 1. Didn't even realize it for the longest time. Do some introspection, set a goal of who you want to be, and strive for it everyday and be honest with yourself.

      Wisdom by JP? Internally inconsistent statement. Change my mind, point to a single statement of wisdom he has ever said. From another vid: 'A paradoxical amalgamism of post modernism, and Marxism and neo Marxism, a juxtaposition of those two systems of ideas'. Let's analyze what is really going on here in the brain of the average JP fan. 'I don't understand what he said, but it sounds really smart.' 'The post modernists are intelligent, there is an infinite number of ways to interpret any even finite set of phenomena.' WTF does that mean? The world is so complex that perceiving it appears virtually impossible? Perceiving the world is virtually impossible? I perceived the world today, did I accomplish the impossible? This guy is such self-absorbed junk every other sentence it just seems incomprehensible why he has a platform anywhere. Embodied cognition? Perception isn't possible without situating the mind in a body that has a certain set of constraints? JP is telling us that your brain must be housed in and connected to your body? Tell me why that is in anyway a useful or insightful idea? Please? Anyone?

    I started to watch this videos and reading about a lot things , how the universe works , and all that , and after a few months of being positive and leaving all bad things in my life , everything around changed, I’m about to start a new job with good pay , got a nice car and little by little step by step my life is changing for the good , if I can do it anybody can !!
    I am a living testimony that this works , is not bs , follow this and learn keep learning never stops learning get as much knowledge as you can , change your mind set , and have faith and trust me you will see a change guaranteed!!!

      Go deeper than the surface level. What truly brings you happiness? It may be helping people, it may be problem solving, or it may be creating.
      Try to structure your day to the best of your ability. If you are currently only spending 15 minutes towards your goal every day, instead spend 30 minutes. Be sure to take breaks to have fun. Best of luck on your journey my friend, everyone is just trying to figure it out along the way :)

    If you're watching motivational videos and such but still procrastinating as I once was, there is a way to break the cycle. Use the power of negative imagination. Think of all the bad things that could happen to you but haven't and pick just one, maybe it could be something that would absolutely destroy your chances of ever improving yourself and attaining your goals, something that would rob you of the luxury of procrastination, then imagine what you would give to be back in the position you're in right now as a starting point. If you procrastinate alot, tell yourself things like "If only that thing never happened or that other thing did happen then I'd be set to change my life" - remember - things can and probably will get worse if you remain stagnant, and you will wish you were back in the position you're in right now.

To exaggerate it study for a few days without any sleep and notice the eye strain and terrible concentration. However, your inner weasel always tries to get you to take more rest than you need as it is circuitry evolved under much less stable conditions. Conditions when having more in the tank, half decides who lives.

      @@Lambdamale. Pretty much anybody can be reasonably successful if they get a good education. Most of my friends from high school are doctors, lawyers, accountants, businessmen, bankers, financial advisers, or salesmen of one sort or another. It's a really high percentage from my school. I ended up a professor in S. Korea, but I own a few properties and have a few grand tied up in stocks. That's the real 1% and they were not all particularly motivated. Some of them were huge pot heads and alcoholics in school. My guess is that some still are. Social capital, financial capital and education go a long way.

    I waste all the time I have. I'm homeless. I was a shut in for 33 years, I'm turning 37 this year. No friends no family. If I decide to make an effort to work my ass off, which I have, there's nothing there to keep me doing it. I swore off girls, and I pretend to have friends. All the hurt that I'm doing to myself. If I decide to get involved with others, what I've noticed is, they tell me I'm this or that, one thing I heard is I hate myself. I made up rules for myself because I don't have the social experience, so when people say I hate myself. It's like, I can't relate to anyone and for some reason my choice to stay distant until I get some stability in my life is considered me hating myself. I swear to Christ, this just makes me hate people.

    There is little point in raising your efficiency if those with whom you must relate are determined to ensure that you fail. When those elected to represent you refuse to do so and you find that there are no mechanisms within the systems to bring them to account, there is no point in trying harder.

    • @uk7769
      @uk7769 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Best definition I've found and still holds up IMO, is mentioned in The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. "The progressive realization of a worthy ideal." Not easy, because you have to define it for yourself, and act on it. But as soon as you start, you are successful. More complex in reality, but I think that's the gist of it.

    Thank you for this video, but titling it to be about the 1% is the wrong title. Jordan is talking about the pathway of what is named as "salvation" in the Western tradition and "liberation" in the Eastern tradition. That's why he repeatedly says that we don't know the upper limits of what happens when we choose to live this way -- meaning, perhaps: there is no upper limit.

    One of the easiest ways to succeed is to find a way to earn money by identifying the vast number of human deficiencies. It's a target-rich environment because (as well-informed psychologists know), it's nearly impossible for the majority of people to make significant changes in their thinking so there's an endless supply.

    You could just as well be wasting your life working a job that doesn't make you neither rich nor happy. Money can be made at any age but passed lifetime cannot be recovered. You'll never be younger than you are right now. So just because you're making some money doing something doesn't mean you're not wasting your (life)time.

    I've been looking for a room to rent for three weeks, offered the money to those that I view, and nobody will rent me a room, I work 55 hours a week....these people just want to rent to Socialist students Monday to friday, or rent to females only, my lease ends on the 6th of August, and I'm running out of options. Being made work 16 hour days to have my time wasted. I've lost everything and everyone I love this year, I've tried to change my life, people are holding me back. So what I take from this is I'm not worthy of basic human rights, like a roof over my head, loving supportive people, not just catastrophe enforced on me by the heartlessness and decisions of others.
