    Very smart. You presented it with the calm demeanor of Jeff Goldblum, but without the stuttering and overacting he does. I think you could impersonate him quite well if you wanted to.

    Lots of updates and further ideas still growing in my other videos and in this Elektronauts thread: www.elektronauts.com/t/syntakt-fx-scenes-techniques/176991/18 . Key update here: no need to lock all the parameters on the “reset” trig-it resets the track without them, and p-lock memory is limited per pattern (I ran into “Lock Mem full!” errors on another pattern).

    Have you tried using Fill condition for your step/scene 1? You can latch/cue fill mode allowing you to cue up the return to normal rather than have it happen every time you get back to 1.

    what is the setting for the phaser? resonance + lfo or filter changes too

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For phaser, you can set LFO to sweep the filter on the 2-notch filter setting. I recently found out the notch is deeper with the resonance knob set lower.

    Is there any chance that you would show 14, 16, 7 and 8 FX? Something doesn't work with my 14 & 16, not sure how to modulate that delay, do you modulate LFO as well on each individual track? And 7 & 8 would be great, anything regarding at least theory would be great, I could try to recreate that :) Your tut is outstanding, need to polish my FX, thanks! I think I'll wait more with buying OT :)

      Hi, thanks! I posted the project file for this video over on Elektronauts and I think it should answer your questions (the software updates changed a couple of lfo destinations around in the list, but that’s the only thing that’s changed I think): www.elektronauts.com/t/st-tips-tricks/171671/160

    Great video. However, isn’t leaving one step without any plocs set up is practically our “back to normal”? I used it like that and it seems it works.

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, and yes, I realized this about the “reset” trig a day or two after posting, but adding a note in the video description was the only available way to edit. It also helps keep the parameter lock lanes for a pattern within the limit (~72 per pattern)

    • @artephank
      @artephank ปีที่แล้ว

      @@humanprogram the funny thing is that I learned how to use “scenes” from your video, but just run trough it to the main point. Then I started using it and just assumed it is how it works. Only today I watched the whole video. Lol

      Thanks a lot! I shared the .syx file for the project used in the video here - www.elektronauts.com/t/st-tips-tricks/171671/160 - but I'll warn that it's a pretty early attempt and not the best example. My other videos have more specifics on some effects (freeze delay, chorus), but I'm also planning a more comprehensive Syntakt FX Guide video in the next month or so.

    Can you automate mutes?

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, depends what you need to do. Song mode is automating pattern mutes between repetitions, or track mutes can be controlled via midi cc, or parameter locks for zero volume can do things like muting/gating the reverb.

  • @illegalgiant_
    @illegalgiant_ ปีที่แล้ว

    human program! dude this is great! after doing midi loopback in my didigtakt, this makes me just want to get a syntakt. how do you like the synth engines on the syntakt? since i have the digitakt i feel the drums+vocals+ ambient sounds are all handled elsewhere.

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Syntakt’s great and Syntakt plus Digitakt is my main combo these days. Syntakt sound design is very flexible but can take some work on like hats and chords, so DT is great spotting on those, and sending DT to ST for FX is great, and DT can control ST’s sound macros from a midi track, and 20 audio tracks means it’s easy to layer sounds or to put A/B sections in a single pattern.

    • @illegalgiant_
      @illegalgiant_ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@humanprogram do you feel like the syntakt is worth it for the synths+fx send (along with the elektron sequencer)? i am looking for somethign to pair to add melodies and it looks like it could be there but also it could mayvbe.. not? the chord engine seems rarely discussed as I see a lot of videos talking about it as a solo box, which make ssense as its a groove box. it seems maybe it could be redundant to have both and im better off just getting a standalone analog or digital synth like the hydrasynth, a4, etc etc etc
      not to mentiuon those performance triggers etc.

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@illegalgiant_ Yeah, it’s hard to say, and also depends on one’s experience, and preferences in, synth sound design. MiniFreak also seems like a great deal that’s accessible and pretty deep, and polyphonic, with FX (but monotimbral). Syntakt came out when I was weighing whether to get a mono synth like Typhon or fm like Digitone, and it covers the territory I need for both. The ST chord machine is additive synthesis (a limited number of sine waves) so its range is a little limited, but it can sound good with help (doubling, chorus, LFO tricks, etc). Layering tuned 2-oscillator voices also works for chords and sounds great, but is a cumbersome workflow. Anyway, all depends on what you think is missing from your setup.

    • @illegalgiant_
      @illegalgiant_ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@humanprogram thanks for the detailed reply. i feel like im at a bit of a crossroads. i feel the 8 digitakt tracks is hoenslty enough so im a little wary to bu y mroe of the same but i want the fxc blocks and synths. much to think about. for now the GAS will be put on hold :)

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@illegalgiant_ I think I saw a deleted comment, or can't find the one to reply to, but can add: if you're interested in drones, my best recommendation is to check out @OscillatorSink 's channel, he's got fabulous performances and and walkthroughs of sets and drones on Digitakt, Digitone, and Syntakt, I've learned a ton from his channel. I'll also add it took me a solid six months to really gel with the Digitakt, so it might reward more time, and the new machines add some real workflow variety, too. Good luck!

    Man this is aggravating AF. I had it working but when I enable an effect, say Reverb 100% on step 2, I press step 2, and yes and it works, till it gets back to step 1 and then no reverb.

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the reset trig on 1.1 is there for the common scenario of building up effects at the end of a pattern and then returning to normal at the start of the next repetition. Turning off the probability of the 1.1 trig will let you turn off the effects manually. Several of my other videos show a demo of this technique with on-screen notes, esp. th-cam.com/video/_QyU2PTLTzw/w-d-xo.html
