Thanks for this video! I've done my direct drive inboards for years, but this is my first year doing a V-drive. It looked pretty tight in there. Nice camera work in a very enclosed space. Very helpful for what looks to be a blind install.

Thanks for the video!👍 Had a Tige come into the shop and Could not find a make on the pump. Helped out allot.
We replace a ton of impellers every season. Maxima Assembly Lube is great stuff. Assuming your doing this on the trailer and once you fire up the excess flushes out.
4 to 8 seconds to burn out a new impeller if you don't get water to it right away. So a little lube gets you through priming the system.
Vaseline, lard or a cooking oils works just as good for eco-friendly alternative.

Cooking oils! Great idea. I just did mine again this year and tried dish soap, but it wasn't all that effective.

Is it not necessary to lube up new impeller before installation?

Well I didn't and have no issues year to year. However you could give it a dose of silicone lube if you prefer. Sounds like some boats are harder than others to do this job. I found the PCM pretty easy.

Don’t use any silicon or petroleum lubricants to get the old impeller our or new one in. Those don’t flush out of the cooling system very easily and just aren’t good to flush into the lake. Dish soap is right thing to use.

Any boat mechanic that uses a crescent wrench is "red flag #1". Just sayen.

Good thing I don't claim to be a mechanic. And it's only to release the belt. Settle down champ.
