I recently got my first baitcaster and med-heavy rod after pretty much exclusively fishing senkos on a med lt spinning rod catching 1-pounders, and I got an assortment of jigs with the new rod to learn how to use them. It was slow going for a couple months as I got used to it at our local hydrilla-choked lake. The other day I decided to commit to a shad-pattern swim jig, working it over the grass and trying various retrieves from shore. I only got one hit but I pulled in a 3-pounder with a mouthful of hydrilla. What a rush! Then I watched your recent swim jig videos and you confirmed and clarified what I was learning. Thanks!
I have been trying different lures to see what works, sometimes nothing works well, the jigs do get down in water but then it seems like I am cleaning weeds off all the time, the hollow body frogs and solid toads are great in weeds and Texas rigged worms also, there are so many lure and color choices it's hard to decide what is best choice
Old guy here just wanted to say thanks for the content you put out very informative if i could work it out would love to fish jigs with you keep up the goood work
