This deck has such a deepening energy of the season, and I've been enjoying drawing daily cards and listening for any questions they might inspire. I don't modify many decks, but this one is definitely getting a trim to get rid of the text. I know a lot of people like that quick hit of meaning right on the cards, but for me it's a needle-scratch moment -- whatever I was getting from the art and the card's name is interrupted. But I do love this oracle's art -- and I'm on Team Gilding! The shinier the better!
@@DawnMichelleTarot Thank YOU, Dawn Michelle, for doing the side-by-side with my Forest of Enchantment deck! I love seeing how people play and work with the cards.
I'm a bit bummed that the next deck will be spelled Beltane and not Bealtaine... but that's my own personal hang-up with the appropriation and Anglicization of Irish holidays. I also don't quite understand why the Pagan community does such a good job saying Samhain correctly, but not Bealtaine... and why the spelling gets Anglicized so much... especially with the history of colonization and forced Anglicization of the Irish people and their language. I think at this point though, "Beltane" and the common Anglicized pronunciation is too ingrained in the Pagan community at large, and it would be difficult to change minds on this en masse. That all said, this is a nice deck. I appreciate what they are going for with these decks.
Hi there. Great review of the Yule Oracle. It really is a super deck. A realisation came to me as I was watching your channel from here in the Southern Hemisphere. I mused on the idea of including the cards of the opposite sign on the Wheel of the Year. I think we need to bridge the "them and us" concept and appreciate the pendulum swing of the seasons that others are experiencing. I would love to hear your comments on another sort of pairing..
While the Samhain Seasons of the Witch was a pretty clear "no" for me, I'm still so on the fence with this one! I like the art much more in this Yule one, largely because it feels more diverse, and it's also true that there are fewer Yule-specific decks to choose from. Overall, I really like the concept and keywords, but some of the art, particularly of people, is a miss for me. I think that would be made up for if I really liked the prayers/poetry, but many of them are also a miss for me (and I generally love poetry). I think I'll wait until next December and see how I'm feeling then or if any other Yule specific decks are released. Really enjoyed seeing it paired with Forest of Enchantment and Influence of Angels; it paired really well with them (two decks I already own) which is another point in its favor! As always, thanks for the lovely tarot content!
Thank you for another great walkthrough!!! Waiting for my copy to arrive Thursday I'm thinking of pairing this with Anna K and the Star Tarot. You gave me some wonderful ideas on pairings I'm curious to see how it works with Scorpio sea tarot💖🕯️
Love this deck! Have you tried pairing it with the Murder of Crows Tarot, Dark Wood Tarot or the Sasuraibito Tarot? I’d be interested in your thoughts.
I don't have Murder of Crows but I've seen it paired with the two others and it works beautifully. In particular I think the pairing with the Sasuraibito is lovely. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
This is really a very cool deck. I am late to this series. I do eventually want to get the entire collection. I love the decks that you chose to pair it with. Beautiful video as always. Thank you for sharing sweet lady. I love this. I have thought of also pairing these decks with the Wildwood Tarot. 💖💖💖
I got this deck before the season started thankfully, I need to get the green gilding off its chipping but I am too scared too. So I am trying to not pay attention to it.
@@DawnMichelleTarot I lack a paper trimmer or decent pair of scissors to feel good about doing that. Filing doesn’t seem like an option because it’s paper not wood.
Winter is a season I really enjoy and the energy this brings takes me to deeper places of the season. Will look forward to the next one but totally appreciating and sinking in to this one. Lovely walkthrough. Thank you! ✨
I loved watching this even thought I haven’t bought this specific oracle deck yet… I will for sure get it for next year. But I think this series is lovely and a great addition to a collection. Thank you ☃️
fa-la-la-la-la-fa-la-la-la...well..i pre-ordered this deck in August, it showed up in Oct/Nov..., and i got to unwrap it today! and finally watch your walk-through! merry christmas to me! the deck is a joy, and i paired it with all of my winter season favorites. It was lovely, deep and visual with: Kat Black's "Golden Tarot", "Radiant Wise Tarot mini", and the "Mystic Sisters Oracle". Thanks for all of the insight and inspiration. Happy Yuletide.

I love the entire packaging/publication of these decks too. I don't have many decks dedicated to different seasons. For me, that makes these decks all the more sweetier. Thanks for another great video! Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday! All my best, Amber
I would love it if it wasn't for that sometimes the English doesn't make sense to me... and I think there are a few muddled Thees and Thy's in there... eg "turn to the spirits within thy"?! ;-) I wish I could overlook that, but I know it would bug me. Other than that it's great
I enjoyed Dawn Michelle's walkthrough & pairings but I can relate to your comment SpiritWing. I wanted to purchase a winter deck and I love the artwork in this oracle, I love Yule and witches, but I cannot get past the phrases on the cards. I'm heartbroken, the cards are so pretty. For my winter fix I ended up buying Prisma Visions Tarot particularly for the snowy scenes in the suit of swords.
I think they intend for their decks to represent a variety of traditions but I'd have to read the guidebook again to see if they state anything about it. I'll definitely take a look! 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
Considering many “Christmas” traditions were stolen from Paganism there’s nothing in the deck that isn’t pagan if you go back further and see how Yule was celebrated pre-Christian take over.
@@joanb. another representation of the goddess in the Christian world of mythology…because in order for the wheel to turn once again something new must be born and in Christianity they used a human which has to be born by someone.
In my opinion, spirituality is innately human whereas religion is the process by which humanity attempts to define their spirituality. I don't actually see them as being the same thing, but that's just my thoughts on it. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
I really like the idea of this deck but the "take with thy" kinds of inaccuracies and the inconsistencies of language bother me. These are things the publisher should have caught and it's a shame.
The writing should have definitely been sent to an editor/proofreader. The errors and misuse of "thy" on nearly every card is just too much for me. All the people giving this deck good reviews and saying good things about the "poems" are really making me realize I can't trust reviews of oracle decks on TH-cam
