Pretty sure this is the song that made me a legit fan of southern gospel. "Son, go get your children..." still gives me chills!
I was going through a hard time in my life. After a terrible accident which almost took my life. Music like this helped me get through that chapter in my life thank you Jesus Christ my savior.
I transformed my life from this song by this group Gold City
Thank you so much! I love old Gold City so very much. I thought Southern gospel music had gone away. When I heard these guys, I thought I'd faint. That's so beautiful! Our Lord loves this song so much! No one has more beautiful music written about Him than our precious Lord and Savior! PTL and he's coming soon! Please make sure you're ready to go!
Ivan is just amazing on this song, it was an immediate favorite of mine. Nobody sings it like Ivan, he is just spot on and outstanding!
I so miss hearing this. So beautiful and pointing to our great SAVIOR and LORD!
simply put, this is Gold City at their best. In 1988 the awards began to rise and their popularity grew with great songs like Midnight Cry and as for their personnel line up, it just doesn't get more solid than this. Midnight Cry came at the perfect time to ensure their lasting impact on southern gospel music for decades to come. Sometimes people are at their best when they are simply doing what they love and not really paying too much attention to what others reaction.
No one can sing this song like Ivan. No one!
Agree!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to Ivan sing and let him bless your heart.
This song never gets old. I went to one of their concerts when I was a little girl and was lucky enough to meet them and get their autographs lol :)
To think that Ivan Parker and Brian Free would come out of this group.
Is Brian the one singing tenor in this video?
@@chrishunter1439 Yes
Mike Lefevre and Taco as well. I miss all so much.
Kind of strange that Doug Riley wasn't playing drums here, but they still managed to sound awesome.
Doug joined Gold City around the Summer of 1989 I believe. They only had piano and bass guitar the first few times I went to see them in concert but Garry Jones made that piano sing he was amazing to watch.
In the switch from Mansion Entertainment to Nashville Skyline Digital the song "Shoutin' Ground" from this concert has somehow been removed can you please add it back, thank you. Also if there is anyway to post this entire concert or make it available for purchase on DVD or Blu-ray I would be very interested, thank you.
Is that Brian Free singing tenor?
Yup
turbogt2911 must be prior to Brian Free and Assurance
@@rja9784 You bet. Assurance was formed in '93 and Brian and his sweet perm left Gold City in '94.
Sound is terrible
Much of this older footage was transferred from "tape" and some of the audio is out of phase. We're tried to correct that as much as possible, but sometimes there is an audio playback difference between a computer, smart phone, head phones, etc.
Sounds beautiful to believers
And awful to believing audiophiles
Great song
@@NashvilleSkylineDigital I think it sounds great and coming from the best quartet to ever sing.
