To everyone who's offended by chidi's compliment on Rayne's just relax and know that it was never intended the way you all are interpreting it. Here is the thing, all the time they talked over the phone Rayne had told him she is skinny, and Chidi had always preferred fuller women. so he was expecting a skinny woman but upon feeling her he discovered that she isn't skinny but "big" enough for him "just the way he always wished" so that was a compliment out of excitement. chidi is brilliant enough not to intentionally hurt someone because he knows what it means and how it feels to be "inadequate"

I’m sick of Americans going to other countries and getting unnecessarily offended because they do little to no research before going over there. Nigeria has been featured in 90 Day Fiancé for years now. She must’ve known that they buy and kill their meat fresh there. And unless she’s on some sort of plant based diet, she knows chickens are a source of food. She needs help, and he needs to find a young woman who is a better match to him🙃❤️

But I have to book before my flight credit expires, which is next month .. so it'll hopefully be for early Dec ;)

Looking Big enough is a BIG compliment in Nigeria. Nigerian culture is a shock for people in America. She should have learned things about Nigeria, we are not Vegetarians we eat all sorts of meat. Chicken, fish, cow, goat, snake (python), alligator, and all sorts considered bush meat. I know here 3 weeks in Lagos would be crazy considering Chidi lives on the Lagos mainland.

It’s definitely a cultural thing. He doesn’t necessarily mean “big” as in “fat,” but more so “curvy.” Nigerians view curvy women as being better equipped to carry and birth children. I’ve seen many small women have severe complications in pregnancy, but have hardly seen curvy, healthy women have complications. Overweight is another story. Women who are “too big” are more prone to miscarriage and other complications.
It means she is curvy, fleshy, and beautiful. It is a Nigerian way of saying he likes what he feels.
